Well the things is Im going upto 18's on 40's and would like to keep some of the ride quality, scorpion has 30mm drop pn his and as soon as you put someone in it it looks like its on the floor. anyone got a picture of theirs on 25mm drop ? Well - I've tried spax, Eibach and now TTE coilovers with 18's.... Spax - 25mm, no noticible difference in ride quality Eibach - 30mm, no noticible difference in ride quality TTE coilovers - about 40/45mm drop, noticible difference in ride quality, though not irritating, but then I do have uprated anti-rolls, under-chasis braces and strut brace. Zee, where can I order them from ? and how much are they ?

Is200/300 Same Disc Pad?
jdmparts_guru replied to altezza222's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
The Altezza/IS200/IS300 and GS300/430 Mk2 brake pads and discs are the same. The Altezza/IS200/IS300 lowering springs, shocks and coilovers will fit, but since the IS300 is quite a bit more front heavy, the drop in the front will be much more if IS200/Altezza springs were to be installed on an IS300. This diff. in drop may somewhat affect the ride and handling of the car. Most coilovers were designed for the Altezza, but since these can be height (and sometimes stiffness) adjusted, they should fit nicely on all the engine types. -

I'm going to but some goodies for my IS and i need feedback from the guys that have the following: 1)Front/rear Strut braces 2)Anti roll bars 3)Coilovers(possibly if they're @ a reasonable price). For obvious reasons i would like to get these items from across the pond, with the exchange rate as low as it is at the moment,so its a good time to buy. What i need guys is: Who you dealt with(company). What make of above products did you choose. How long did you wait for them. Total cost inc shipping and import taxes. Cheers fellas!!!! Post here or PM me direct.

Get the TTe anti-rolls, Imi's coilovers and Japsai under chasis braces... you won't need the strut barces after that lot...... ;)

Would Appreciate Opinions On Altezza Handling
shotwood replied to londoner2001's topic in Altezza Club
AFAIK the TOM'S ECU should increase the torque more than the outright power. Without driving another Tezza and doing a back-to-back comparison, I wouldn't like to say what the difference is... Very stable, though mine does have stiff suspension. (Soon to be changed to APEXi coilovers). Turn-in is crisp and from 4000 rpm onwards, she flies. :P Not yet. I am hoping to go to the dyno session at TDI later on in the year. Everything on the car was fitted in Japan, so I'm in the dark there. Haven't noticed any quirks though so I suspect the mapping is fine. Though I stand to be corrected My advice, if you like Jap performance and good hadling coupled with a bit of luxury, is go for an Altezza. -
D2 is a Taiwanese brand, and is very cheap to get in Taiwan. Probably only 1/3 of the price of the more known brands. I personally does not like the brand, since they do locally some cheaty marketing. They are using pictures of German DTM cars and some of these cars have the D2 logo. However, D2 is one of the German telecom companies and has nothing to do with the D2 coilovers. Also, I think they registered the D2 name in the UK, but what I already said, the Mercedes pics they are using are used in the German DTM races, and have nothing to do with the UK. I personally do not have experience with their products. They got be of good quality, but because of the way they do their marketing , I don't dare to try their products. Reccomendation for all you folks with coilovers - the back brace WILL catch if you are 40mm or lower.... (especialy on speed humps)... Trust me - I took a fair amount of red paint off my rear one coming back from Germany.... :(

I'm planning to fit some coilovers myself and from reading the knowledgebase it seems the tools I dont have which I need are a ball joint splitter and some spring clamps. Now, my question is which ones do I need? I went to Halfords and they had about 5 or 6 different ball joint splitters ranging from £7 - £40 and soem different spring clamps too. Which ones should I get then? Any links or pictures would be helpful! (the ball joint splitter than you can see on the knowledgebase wasnt at halfords by the way. Colin

come on then, form an orderly queue..... who is going to fit my coilovers at gaydon then? :P (i'm not being serious, UNLESS, someone really wants to? )
-
Gaydon..... its a bit of a story.... I was planning to go but I have to take the girlfriend back to uni (oxford) but she has to be there for 4pm. Then before that I have to meet IMI around 12pm, so my car will be full of clothes and other stuff as i'm staying with friends in London for a couple of weeks. I could meet you at the oxford services though and then meet IMI later wherever i'm meeting him? I'm buying his coilovers if you hadnt guessed so in a word, no, i dont think i'll be going to gaydon now.
