Lexus Model

  1. Just looked on eBay and see Scott has some Blitz lowering springs for sale - any of you guys got these fitted? I've read DaveEllen's comments in http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=12570&hl= saying that the coilovers are much better but I don't want to spend too much more on the car at the minute (she's wiping me out!) - although saying that I have looked at the Apexi world sport dampers (assuming these are coilovers?!) - anyone got those fitted? I guess the options are the Eibachs, Spacs or these since the HKS ones are discontinued. Any comments on what these are like compared to stock (well to the old -10mm Sport springs) - from various comments on the other springs the ride is slightly firmer but not really noticable on motorways (although I don't do that much motorway driving at the minute) I'm also bearing in mind that I'm having a set of those TRD anti roll bars and also looking at chassis braces front and back so can't lower too much otherwise I'll be scraping everything!!! Thanks in advance
  2. Yeah in terms of height. The law states that when the car is jacked up the suspension springs MUST be under compression. On the coilovers you can lower them by using the collar nut and this can be adjusted past 'the point of compression' so that the spring is loose but still compressed when it is on the floor If you know what I mean ;) (Legal in some countries)
  3. Th Flex is the way to go if you want EDFC and medium - stiff suspension. The CS is very soft, some say even softer than stock. In general, all the Japanese made IS300 coilovers are the same as the IS200 or Altezza coilovers.
  4. From what I know, Fargo has the same coilovers on his 300 as I have got on my 200, the Apexi N1's. I think these are brilliant. I ride them on quite a firm setting and they corner superb, without being uncomfortable. Mine are set to the lowest setting possible without being illegal and I very rarely catch anything. Even going over the many speed bumps ( :tsktsk: things) in our area. Like i said to you before, do you want to borrow the 35mm drop springs for a while to see how it rides and make sure it doesn't catch too much before you shell out all that cash. :winky:
  5. OK I'm bringing this thread back from the dead, since the charger has been fitted and the roll bars etc the car still feels a bit dodgy when cornering at speed - I'm now looking at two kits, the Tein CS and the Tein Flex. I've done a load of searching the past couple of days but can't seem to get a definitive answer on these. Some say the Flex at the softest setting are about the same as stock and at firm are very firm, whereas I've seen other people saying that the Flex are almost as soft as stock at the hardest setting! I've seen that the Flex's can make noises whereas the CS's are silent. I'm looking to fit these up to an EDFC box as both are listed as compatible. What is this I've read about the Flexs and bounce in the ride? Is this a major problem? I saw a post where someone was thinking about replacing the coilovers due to the bounce in the ride so I'm guessing it must be pretty bad? I'd be looking to import as the US prices seem a match for the UK prices (ie $1,350 vs £1,350) - would the parts for the IS300 be a correct match for the UK IS200 or should I be buying from Japan? Thanks in advance guys
  6. Tanabe Coilovers are good, as are HKS, Blitz, TRD, Ohlin, Then come the anti-roll bars, then the Under chassis braces and then the Strut braces.... then your wallet should be pretty much empty... especially if you get the S/C!! if not....GET IT NOS`D!!! lol
  7. I dont have 18's but these are my 17's with 40 tyres dropped quite a bit on coilovers My Lowered Lex
  8. i got Tein coilovers with EDFC on my IS.......
  9. Its changed since then, coilovers, stiffer anti roll bars and a TTE front bumper :winky: I know its only part of the story, cant wait to see it.
  10. I have the TTE anti-rolls with the Japsai braces, TTE coilovers and a Cusco strut if that helps...... With the roll bars, coilovers and chassis braces the strut brace becomes redundant in everyday road use :winky:
  11. I have the TTE anti-rolls with the Japsai braces, TTE coilovers and a Cusco strut if that helps......
  12. you can consider removing the air suspension and put in some 'normal' shocks and springs. Or, you can put in some lower springs/shocks or even coilovers
  13. I have a request from those with the coilovers, does anybody have the metal badge that comes with the kit,if so and you are not using it do you wish to sell it to me for the price of a couple of beers. Cheers peeps.
  14. looks useful but some guys have brand new coilovers fitted and still have the knocking sound, only my rear onces seem to be knocking on my tein flex so far :)
  15. was wondering,, how many different type of top mount assembly are there for coilovers. ie Pillow Ball Mounts.. thats all i know..
  16. You're right but I meant pillow ball mount as a standalone item. Because the coilovers I am waiting for weren't available with pillow ball mount :(
  17. I have now KW coilovers and Hotchkis anti roll bar, can i improve the ride quality with Strut brace and(or) lower armbar? Or is it not many interrest? Can i put a 3 point Cusco strut brace on a left hand drive IS200? Cusco arm bar are ok for IS200 or only Altezza? Thanks to everybody :D
  18. Cusco strut brace will for both the Tezza and IS200.... I have TTE coilovers, TTE anti-rolls, Japsai Chasisi Braces and a Cusco strut - and to be honest, the strut doesn't make that much of a difference....
  19. Guys, installed all this on the weekend, EDFC is a great investment!! BUT (always a damn but) there are knocking noises from the coilovers, over small bumps. What could this be? my mechanic installed the coilovers, so not sure if he did it right, as he didnt have the manual. The gold nut on each coilover top (on the strut towers) are loose, except for one. Do i need to tighten these??? Help!! :zee:
  20. Who did you take your car to? They dont sound very specialised Have you read this thread here: http://www.is300.net/modules.php?name=Foru...opic&t=13386273 Only other thing I can suggest is contact this guy; Steve Bell (Access Performance Distribution) [sbell@accessauto.com.au] Hes the distributor of Tein stuff in Oz, and I got my coilovers from him (hes in Melb) but he might be able to help you or offer suggestions
  21. think steve said it all for most. for the 300 i would just like to see the amount of goodies available for the 200 to be available fo the 300. things ive been llooking at though.. Big brake conversion. XERD racepipes and manifolds. coilovers that dont rattle. been toying with fabricating a simple polycarb washer that will sit either side of the pillow ball mounts to stop the damn rattling. E-shift valve body upgrade,, was looking at when thinking of a turbo.. may not be necessary with noz.. engine managment.. in particualr the apexi safc II,, i like the display you see. and may be what i need as oppsoed to a full on fcon. various ready made bracketry for NOS, i hads to make a bracket for the pulsoids, a heatshield to protect them and a microswitch bracket.. Access to anodisers at a cheap rate for those brackets i had to make. Console,, to affix on the centre console/dash area,, this would be great for mounting your various aftermarket acc switches to,, cant think what else for now.
  22. supercharger is definately on the way, just got a few things to sort before i have it fitted:- uprated discs tein coilovers uprated roll bars body kit after that lot is done i will fit me a supercharger! but for now that roar is very addictive
  23. Bit late for me but a sub £700 set of coilovers ? Bit radical but some throttle bodies for the radical modders
  24. mines is lowered on Eibach springs / Bilstein shocks and the 19" rubs slightly with 4 people when cornering on motorway. I'm waiting my new coilovers to lower it of 5 more centimeters and go back to 17"
  25. I asked my insurance about fitting coilovers all round, and they told me it would just be a £15 admin charge. Guess it depends on the company ;)
