  1. looks useful but some guys have brand new coilovers fitted and still have the knocking sound, only my rear onces seem to be knocking on my tein flex so far :)
  2. Found this over at IS300.net http://www.is300.net/modules.php?name=Foru...opic&t=13387093 Dunno if its been posted but could be the answer to everyones prayers!
  3. You're right but I meant pillow ball mount as a standalone item. Because the coilovers I am waiting for weren't available with pillow ball mount :(
  4. was wondering,, how many different type of top mount assembly are there for coilovers. ie Pillow Ball Mounts.. thats all i know..
  5. Cusco strut brace will for both the Tezza and IS200.... I have TTE coilovers, TTE anti-rolls, Japsai Chasisi Braces and a Cusco strut - and to be honest, the strut doesn't make that much of a difference....
  6. I have now KW coilovers and Hotchkis anti roll bar, can i improve the ride quality with Strut brace and(or) lower armbar? Or is it not many interrest? Can i put a 3 point Cusco strut brace on a left hand drive IS200? Cusco arm bar are ok for IS200 or only Altezza? Thanks to everybody :D
  7. Who did you take your car to? They dont sound very specialised Have you read this thread here: http://www.is300.net/modules.php?name=Foru...opic&t=13386273 Only other thing I can suggest is contact this guy; Steve Bell (Access Performance Distribution) [sbell@accessauto.com.au] Hes the distributor of Tein stuff in Oz, and I got my coilovers from him (hes in Melb) but he might be able to help you or offer suggestions
  8. think steve said it all for most. for the 300 i would just like to see the amount of goodies available for the 200 to be available fo the 300. things ive been llooking at though.. Big brake conversion. XERD racepipes and manifolds. coilovers that dont rattle. been toying with fabricating a simple polycarb washer that will sit either side of the pillow ball mounts to stop the damn rattling. E-shift valve body upgrade,, was looking at when thinking of a turbo.. may not be necessary with noz.. engine managment.. in particualr the apexi safc II,, i like the display you see. and may be what i need as oppsoed to a full on fcon. various ready made bracketry for NOS, i hads to make a bracket for the pulsoids, a heatshield to protect them and a microswitch bracket.. Access to anodisers at a cheap rate for those brackets i had to make. Console,, to affix on the centre console/dash area,, this would be great for mounting your various aftermarket acc switches to,, cant think what else for now.
  9. supercharger is definately on the way, just got a few things to sort before i have it fitted:- uprated discs tein coilovers uprated roll bars body kit after that lot is done i will fit me a supercharger! but for now that roar is very addictive
  10. Bit late for me but a sub £700 set of coilovers ? Bit radical but some throttle bodies for the radical modders
  11. mines is lowered on Eibach springs / Bilstein shocks and the 19" rubs slightly with 4 people when cornering on motorway. I'm waiting my new coilovers to lower it of 5 more centimeters and go back to 17"
  12. I asked my insurance about fitting coilovers all round, and they told me it would just be a £15 admin charge. Guess it depends on the company ;)
  13. What are you going to change? the IS shocks are all one unit with the coil fitted to the damper. if your changing the original ones to coilovers then all you need to do is remove a few bolts. if your intending to change the stock springs and put lowering springs on then you'll need the coil compressors and to undo the nut at the top as in the guide.
  14. I hadn't done to be honest mate, are you happy with them? I hadn't realised at first the EDFC only controlled damping in the car (guess the clue was in the name) - I thought it would also control height as well - d'oh! Might give coilovers a miss as the car was scraping the other day on a couple of the speed bumps at work and that's with it lowered only 10mm (they're pretty major and I am a fat knacker!!)
  15. Hi, I've got the opportunity to replace the 100,000 mile shock absorbers for an almost new set (1200 miles) from someone who put coilovers on his new IS200. However, his IS200 is a SportCross. That may mean the back shocks are different. Just for comparison I've looked at the part numbers for sport shock absorbers on the Eibach website. Here part numbers are different for the SportCross back shocks, just like the front shocks for the IS300 are different. Probably due to the extra weight and load capacity, same thing with the springs. So, in the best case I can fit them and they will be a bit harder than the IS200 sedan shocks, worst case they wont fit at all. Does anyone know? Thanks, RX-Men-8
  16. Just looked on eBay and see Scott has some Blitz lowering springs for sale - any of you guys got these fitted? I've read DaveEllen's comments in http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=12570&hl= saying that the coilovers are much better but I don't want to spend too much more on the car at the minute (she's wiping me out!) - although saying that I have looked at the Apexi world sport dampers (assuming these are coilovers?!) - anyone got those fitted? I guess the options are the Eibachs, Spacs or these since the HKS ones are discontinued. Any comments on what these are like compared to stock (well to the old -10mm Sport springs) - from various comments on the other springs the ride is slightly firmer but not really noticable on motorways (although I don't do that much motorway driving at the minute) I'm also bearing in mind that I'm having a set of those TRD anti roll bars and also looking at chassis braces front and back so can't lower too much otherwise I'll be scraping everything!!! Thanks in advance
  17. Well I finally got my Tein Coilovers fitted today Hooray!!, got them all wired up with the control box sitting under my dvd rom drive in the center console under the trac and seat buttons. I wired up the illumination, perm power, acc power and ground up to the wires on the stereo. switched on the EDFC control box and I got an error message. Front EE rear 12 I checked the motors on the front both of them can turn freely when using a screwdriver on the tiny screws. checked all the cables and connectors tried again same thing I unplugged the front motors from the EDFC box same thing again Front EE rear 12 I unplugged the rear motors and plugged in the front ones and i got Front EL rear 12. very strange. without anything plugged into the EDFC box other than power I get the same EE error message for the front motors. anyone else had this problem? I checked the fuse 5A on the EDFC wiring.all ok it powers up correct and the LCD dimms when the cars lights come on so I assume thats connected correctly. do you think the EDFC box is fubar? or maybe that not enough power is getting to it via the radio loom?? So near but yet so far but here's a PHOTO of how my car looks now lowered :) Ignore the plonker sat in the car thats just me.
  18. what a weekend !! fantastic fun, and great to meet all our euro members as well, even if it was a bit hard to communicate at times with an early morning start we were off, 4.30 start to catch the 6.00 ferry, and an hour and a half later we were in euroland with the map master jane doing her best we managed a quick tour of antwerpe, driving around the city centre where most the streets seemed to be cobblestones isnt good with hard set coilovers finally reached german borders, and with no sign of any service stations decided to hit a local town, about an hour later! we found the motorway again finally met up with paul and dave and their respective halves, a service station yes dave the one with thge huge windmill, the one you couldnt miss after a long slog up we finally arrived at the site, with the sun shining and mat wearing shorts!! we settled into the first night of chatting eating and drinking after a nice nights sleep at the local hotel, we were ready for day two with a few more greetings from more members, we all set out on the cruise with some great roads, and beautiful countryside we convoyed, all the way to the ice cream shop B) with a few surprised looks from the locals we all set about ordering mountains of frozen delights back on the cruise, where more than twelve lexus in a row made a grand entrance everywhere we went all to meet up for a photo opportunity in a town square, sadly the rain had followed us from england and had decided to let loose in a big way, we didnt let it dampen our fun though next step was to the kebab shop now i had heard that these kebabs were good that is an understatement they are with out doubt the best i have ever eaten. eventually arriving back at the camp site, an evenings entertainment was produced by mat, in the form of a little bottle of chilli sauce paul ! i dont think you wanted to do that did you we eventually retired at about 2am only to find the hotel locked up, with no sign of any life, and us without any keys oh well back to the camp site, to spend the night in the car let me tell you this that car is not designed for two people to sleep in managed to get back in the hotel early the next morning and grab some brekkie next day was the go-karting what a track or tracks should i say, fantastic place still aching from it now :duh: after a quick drink we were all ready for the trip back home many thanks to mat many thanks to jens for making such a great weekend, and with such great company by the way when is the next one :D pics start here
