  1. Yes....however if you car is modified heavily i.e Coilovers or dropped LOADS then it may be worth just getting some guide settings from "The Doctor" ::D Make sure you mention your from LOC - they have a special price for LOC members. Anees
  2. Now I have the Apexi coilovers fitted, my ride hight is: Front 325mm (-45mm lower than standard) Rear 310mm (-80mm lower than standard)
  3. nice subtle more sporty drop there. £80 to do springs? how much is a full alignment? I have a mate who's contemplating in fitting some coilovers to his 156 what would you be able to quote for that? PM me if necessary cheers!
  4. i take it you have coilovers?? cause i don't. so if you have them and you are still getting it we can rule out that, and it aint your pads or discs, so something to do with the assembly i guess???
  5. Just thought i would update this, Apexi N1 Coilovers, lowered amount... estimate 80-90mm front - 8x19", 225/35/19" ; 290mm rear - 9.5x19", 255/30/19" ; 290mm
  6. TTE reccomend no more than 35mm. That was what they told me when they fitted my TTE Coilovers in Cologne to my old IS last year.
  7. a nice simple set up TTE springs or Eibach TTE anti roll bars Cusco front strut bar a more complex set up Coilovers.....the choice is yours TRD anti roll bars Cusco front strut bars and a serious set up Coilovers TRD yellow anti roll bars Cusco front and rear strut bars Japsai chassis braces Cusco negative upper wishbones(front)
  8. lol don't have one myself but my mate has a daewoo one and spent many an evening round there watching the football or films the one he has looks ok and it doesn't look grainy even when things are blown up digitally someone else i know has a sony 37" one he swears by as it has a card reader in the side so u can view pics i personally was looking at the samsung ones they have a good resolution and aren't incredibly expensive My dilemma now is coilovers or 42" of viewing pleasure :D
  9. I suspect we need it for a couple of days or so, so I don't know whether a dealer would be prepared to do that. The wheels that are fitted are the wrong offset. ← i recon with the wrong set up that is defo your problem, one thing i have noticed with the SC is it is very susceptable to suspension and wheel differences. what was the "Problem" with the Teins. ← We think so too, but we need to check to make sure. The car handles very badly with the combination of his wheels and the TEINS. ← ok just Phoned the wheel man at TTE....... the wheel sizes they recomend....as the largest that can be fitted without any issues, with Coilovers are front 8.5 (x 19) with a maximum offset of +39 Rear 10 (x 19) with a maximum offset of + 45 im sure you already knew this Mark, but maybe if anyone else is thinking of along these lines they will see this info
  10. Thanks dude.. I binned the wind deflectors... i hate clutter Front archs not modded, but the wheels are rubbing on the plastic inserts... pretty bad but thats because i didn't raise it from previous drop.... i will just let the tyres rub the plastics till they stop rubbing... i won't raise it... ever! Back had to grind the lips, to the spot welds... had to go through 2 spot welds totally to get the clearance though... I dropped the back a further 10 turns on the coilovers, since i had the front of car sitting 1" lower with the original wheels.... I have to hand it to iForged.... Offset is everything!! ive fitted wheels on other cars before... but these went on with no hassles.... and for average person who doesn't want to slam his car... you' will never have clearance issues!! and i went wider tyre on the back! I might add a small rear tailgate lip... remove the orange reflector in the front headlights.... tint fronts very slightly....then BBK, than thats it... i hope
  11. I feel iam being pushed towards coilovers (dunno why) just seemed a quick cheap stopgap before i inevitably get the coilovers (peer pressure obviously)
  12. looked at these myself Leg. thing is - we dont know the specs of the standard UK setup, the standard US setup and how much the L-tuned stuff changes the specs. We had pretty much the same converation on LOCUS, and it could well actually be the case that the L-tuned springs and shock are standard UK spec. US guys say they are stiffer than US stock, but not much. save up for the coilovers mate ;)
  13. If I was you - I would just save and wait for the coilovers mate. £250 - £300 you spend now to get a set of TTE / Eibach springs and fit em, is a quarter of the way towards what you really want. :winky:
  14. Don't need to change but i feel like tightening a few things up (my *** i am treating my car like a woman) I have seen the L Tuned stuff but only for the Mk2 have an email in to find out if i can interchange them. I'll freely admit that the other part of it is cosmetic but a nice stiff ride doesn't bother me (insert double entendre here) Tien coilovers are the ultimate goal but not on the cards at the moment more likely the end of the year for those
  15. why are you looking to change Leg? what do you want? I have been on this trail myself. I want a nice cosmetic drop, to eliminate the wheel arch gap, and to retain the ride quality. My findings where; TTE / Eibach springs. I doubt these would retain the ride quality, as I had them on my IS, and whilst the were good on a smooth road, they were hard on a bad road. This was also the experience of Col Barber who had them on his GS3. L-Tuned springs / shocks. These had some good reviews from the US, however, we don;t know how they vary from UK spec, so they may just be the same as the standard suspension. would probably make a good replacement set. coilovers. Lots of people on different brands of these. They defintely seem to be the way forward. Lots of flavours. Range from very hard and stiff, track carving setups to softer than stock. I read a LOT of good experiences from people on Tein CS. Almost no loss of ride quality, and they lower the car just enough for me. do you NEED to change (because your existing ones are on the way out), or do you just want to?
  16. well as coilovers are out for at least a few months anyway i was looking at springs and shocks i know there are tien springs which aren't a problem its the shocks i just can't seem to find any sort of choices
  17. There are still al lot of jzs147/mk1 shocks, springs, and coilovers available ... What parts are you looking for?
  18. i found this infomation a few months back when TRD released this stuff in Japan, for the Altezza Cup cars, Unfortunatly they will not sell openly outside of the motorsport fraternity, even though i have close contacts with Toyota in that area, the reason is they dont want these parts outside of Japan, they are only a limited run item. the design of the subframe, is to allow ultra low running suspension as the Altezza cup cars do on 15" and 16" wheels, the coilovers are a track bias set up and would be a trauma on the public road. i am however desperatly trying to get the differential oil cooler!!
  19. yep i have searched and it still hasn't answered what i want the only shocks i seem to find are KYB (whoooooooo) and don't mention coilovers if i had it to spend they would be on by now :D
  20. A bunch of guys in the US have 'em. I really like Adrians car (bluelex), some pics. personaly - I think its a bit too big for the car - 19s are probably a nicer size the car above is also lowered on Tein CS coilovers, so is lower than standard too - a bit too low for my liking, especially at the front.
  21. ANYMORE ADVANCES ON THIS TOPIC? I've just had service done, the front drivers side shock is leaking ever so slighty, but my techie thinks i should replace it in about a year.. I was at lowering springs anyway, so asked him if they will keep stop the shocks leaking.. he said 'no' they would make it worse. I asked about coilovers. He said they are are expensive option, and I should look at get a set of uprated Shocks and Springs. So people any recommedations? Does the Bilstein Sport Shocks and Springs combo work?
  22. coilovers aren't an option at the minute unfortunately as not got the 1700 quid to do it all think thats going to be end of the year possibly so i just want the springs for now and the shocks have only covered about 20k i think as i have a receipt for them being done
  23. I would go for coilovers as well. Since your stock shocks have been used for quite a while i guess, putting lowering springs on will shorten the shock life a lot.
  24. Ade Thomas has just put a set of Eibachs on his GS. He seems to like em. I'm putting Tein CS coilovers on mine.
  25. No, not yet. I just got them yesterday. I think I 'm going to wait until my coilovers arrive before I put them on.
