Lexus Model

  1. I have a cusco one thats fits the tte compressor :winky: ← Price? Where from? And of course any pics mate? Cheers Gordon ← Well it came off Zees car (is200) ive not put it on yet will be putting it on when my new coilovers+wheels go on in the next week :D so put pics up then :D
  2. Who is Matt (Frylai) and where can new ones be bought? Would something like this fit over the EDFC on the Tein Flex Coilovers?
  3. I'm a pretty active club member, as most will know, so i'll start by saying... I did do a search, but couldn't find what i need answered. Here's my question, with background knowledge included. The IS Sport in general has a setup which is 15mm lower than the IS SE. i. If one was to lower a car on springs 30mm on the SE, we are in effect achieving only 15mm lower if sat next to a standard IS Sport. ii. If one was to lower a car on springs 30mm on the Sport, we are in effect achieving 45mm of lowering if sat next to the standard SE. Does this mean for one to acheive 30mm of overall lowering on an SE in comparison to the Sport, one would require it to be lowered by 45mm. (Obviously not achievable with springs) However coilovers, can achieve this with far greater effect. Can somebody (Mat? Tony?) Please advise... (Please excuse one's posh accent in this post)
  4. erm, thats what i said... and people dont talk about a 30mm drop - they refer to springs with a 30mm drop - which is a relative figure. And since originally all models had the same suspension height, then thats what the figure relates to. Of course, that isnt to say, a 2002 Sport on coilovers hasnt been dropped 30mm less than standard sport, which would be 45mm over standard couldnt be refered to as both.. But basically, take the numbers as from 'standard suspension height'
  5. Here it is fitted.... The first set of cones wouldn't fix over the tops of the coilovers so Dave (Prolex) had a modified set made up. I had to remove the engine cover panel, reposition the igniter box and loosen the ECU fuse box to fit the brace but it's any easy 15 minute job. Haven't given it a good wellying yet to check on the handling, but it certainly looks the mutt's nuts :D
  6. lemme race ahead and go on a limb here ... I think most ppl would recommend u go for a supercharger instead for a 50hp increase. Main reason being, theres a customized kit from TTE specifically for the IS200 that can be put on with minimal problems. Most guys here seem to like it .. hehehe for lowering .. there are TOOOONS of choices man .... the sky's the limit. U can go for lowering springs from TRD (or others) ... or go coilovers from TRD, TEIN, HKS, etc etc .. the list goes on and on .... i've heard HKS Hipermax LS+ are good, and are comfortable ..... I'm sure the folks here will be along in no time to give u tons of recommendations :P
  7. Does anyone recognise this exhaust? see here I personally have never seen a HKS exhaust like that for the IS, it has no engraving on it whatsoever, the only silent one I have seen has the extra canister thing on the side. I'm asking as I need a new exhaust, doesnt look or sound convincing though so wouldnt bid on it unless someone here can even say they recognise it? surely he should even know what it's called rather than "HKS super quiet exhaust", as new with corrosion ? also has some HKS coilovers and Altezza manifold for sale
  8. There is a place I've used up in Bulwell, near the Morrbridge tram stop: Automotive Diagnostic Centre 0115 975 5200 Unit 3 Moorbridge Hucknall Lane Bulwell Nottingham NG6 8AF They fitted my Apexi coilovers at a reasonable price. They also have their own dynomometer, although I haven't used it There is also this place in Keyworth which specialises in tweaking Scoobies and Evo's but I haven't paid them a visit yet. They do compressors, turbos, ECU remaps etc and have a dyno. TSL motorsport
  9. best place to start is the exhaust. A decent back box, or cat-back system will free up your engine significantly - okay, it wont make the figures much higher, but you will notice a big difference. I would reccomend a HKS system, but these are hard to come by, I know Pro-Lex do a good one also, but I have no experience with it. What comes next, is more down to your budget. If your looking to keep costs down, then an induction kit and piggyback ECU would mate nicely to a modified exhaust, and give you a reasonable increase. However, if you can afford it, you want to go the supercharger route. Expect about 225bhp from the TTE system. Dont however, forget brakes and handling - you can go for lowering springs which as well as reducing ride height, will stiffen the ride, or go for some coilovers, which, while less comfortable, will give much higher stability through the bends. As for the brakes, if your just adding a S/C, you can just get better disks and pads, although there are options for upgrading the whole system if your serious.
  10. The only shocks worth getting are the Tein CS coilovers http://www.tein.com/csdamp.html They are expensive however. The Daizen sway bars are also meant to be good. http://www.daizensporttuning.com/products/swaybar.html Was you going to lower the car as well? 20" rims and a set of Teins would look the dogs danglies :P
  11. thanx for the compliment guys ..... rite ... the drop is comin next time i bring it in to the shop. Gonna get me a set of coilovers :P .. unfortunately can't afford it at the mo! which brings me to another topic, any good suggestions for decent priced coilovers for the IS? I heard TEIN are good, but are really noisy .... so i'm not too sure if I want that .... I can't get any of the TTE stuff in HK .... unless they are the same as the TRD stuff which are expennnnsssivvvveee! Mark: .. thats rite.. its on hk island, its near taikooshing, took the pics after i dropped of my friend, and ur rite mine is a "Real" IS, not an altezza ... altho the only thing that mine can do better than a local altezza .... is when i turn up the stereo .. (unless they aint running stock stereo ) OLI: Gwai ah! Seng toe "kit" leen "HID & Fogs" yiu seng 8000 mun! < :P hahaha hope u understand that .. or did i misunderstand u? cheers guys B
  12. Guys, I have no idea what I can do, due to the knocking on one of my coilovers I thought maybe I would tighten it to see if that helped, well, I was tightening one of the nuts in the engine bay and it sheared off taking the threaded part with it so now the top of my coilover only has two threaded parts!!! I have removed the single coilover now and the rest of the threaded part seems stuck in the mount and it has jagged teeth which seem well and truely stuck in the mount. Do you guys reckon I can get it pressed out somehow with a machine? If so whats the best type of shop to try for this? Also, I would then need a replacement part of which I have no idea how to get hold of! I have emailed HKS europe and they said they dont sell and support the Hipermax in europe so could not help me. any ideas? supposed to be going on holiday at the weekend! thanks Colin
  13. take it you going for the ghetto gangster bling blang look with those wheels? 18's dropped on coilovers for the VIP look fo sho! me? I'd stick with wide 17's track slag look ;)
  14. Koni Yellows are not coilovers ... but merely stiffness adjustable shocks, not height adjustable shocks. Also, most Koni shocks will require you to remove the shock, before you can adjust the stiffness. It you want a good ride (comfortable) then stick to the Koni + Eibach. If you track your car often, then install the TRD coilovers. These offer height and stiffness adjustability, but are a little too stiff for normal street driving.
  15. 18s with coilovers, dump it 2-2.5".. Saying that the roads in Cov are trully cr4p!!!!
  16. i do like them man, look good on your car, my cars blue so may look a lil different. 18's with coilovers, i'm a student, wont be eating for months!!
  17. lol, nah they dont spin! they gonna cost: 17" £710 18" £925 now the question is do i go for the 18's and jus get springs, or go for the 17's with coilovers
  18. Are you sure the TRD's ren't adjustable? If they aren't: Keep the Konis. Keep the TRD sway bars. Flog the TRD coilovers. If they are adjustable: Keep the TRD stuff.
  19. Koni Coilovers? defo go for those. I know in the V-dub work FK coilovers use Koni inserts and they get raving reviews as a result! C for me too
  20. Finally had the Apexi coilovers (courtesy Fever) fitted today. She is LOW, real sexy LOW :P 5mm gap at the front, so no rubbling, 5mm tucked just inside the arch at the back for that gangsta look. Haven't hammered her hard yet but so far so good. A bit more noise but acceptable noise. :D Love 'em :P :D A few better piccies mow it's stopped raining :P
  21. Thanks for that Am.... I recall the TTE coilovers on My IS200 were dropped and helped improve the handling. I will get the roll-bars on first and see how I go from there. Will keep you posted! :)
  22. Good Vid! Seems like your keeping the revs up where it counts :D I have reduced bodyroll loads in mine, look at some of the stills looks like alot of cars are dipping and squating alot into bends and chicanes. You can't beat coilovers with a big drop, granted it will eat your tyres more but the grip and lack of bodyroll will make you quicker through those bends.. I couldn't even notice effects of ARB kit, very little though..
  23. Must say some sweet driving. Looks like you brought some of the IS owners down a peg or 2 from the looks of that vid. I can see you were using the standard wheels too? any reason other than them being spares or for the smaller diameter? Also noticed that the tezza was very composed through the chicanes etc and looks like you gained alot of distance through the coned area as well. Are you running some stiff coilovers? or do you just have large cahoonas :D Also this footage of you after a good few laps or pretty much early on as it seems you/the altezza's have some pace Nice footage btw!
  24. Ah man i would have loved to have them. Ive just had to pay out for some coilovers that i couldnt let get away! Sorry matey! :)
