sure it's not you selling them? how come you have an aristo and you are looking for altezza coilovers? plus it's your first post! anyway, aside from that then go for £1500 + new here but I doubt i'd bid on that auction as it's a new ebayer in a foreign country (to most of us) and the risk involved incase they are damaged or severly worn to me just doesnt seem worth it. by the time you've won, paid shipping, duty % vat and then paid for the spanners and tools to adjust the damping too much hassle for me

Hi They should be ok but best check with someone else to confirm. The aristo turbo had electronic adjustment on the factory shocks. I have just changed mine to tien coilovers so have a set of origonal aristo v300 shocks and springs for sale. All in perfect working order for £50

Well Done :D How does the car handle with the airbag suspension? Surely it is no match for coilovers or even lowering springs? Was just wondering....

Many thanks gents, most appreciated. I don't have coilovers yet. Mac do you mean the top of the coil/damper mount in the boot. How did you get the oil in there, did you take the mounting nuts off in the boot ? When you say strut, excuse my ignorance but what exactly do you mean ?
-
Think the thread was mine on the coilovers. I traced it to the top mount "creaking" against the car body, it is exactly as you describe, you can get the noise just bouncing the back up and down. I ended up running some 3 in 1 around the top of the strut, between the strut and body from inside the boot and the noise has now gone. Worth a try I would say.

Could be several things. Worn out shock absorber (highly unlikely with your mileage) Handbrake sticking, might require small adjustment worn out bushes worn our wheel bearings either way take it to garage shouldn't be too hard to locate. Its not common unless of course you have coilovers without the rubber top mounts.... even then, i don't get it :P

Keep the Lex and stick a supercharger in it. For handling purposes i highly recommend TTE Anti-roll bars. Then maybe coilovers if you need that bit more.

Right then update... :D After having a play in it on the motorway and around Watford, the turbo conversion is even better than yesterday. The car pulls away excellently all through the gears. It reaches max boost of .55 very quickly. Making acceleration excellent. Pulling away in 5th and 6th is also great. I can get the mph up quite high in the lower gears, although i've not yet tried to see exactly what i can get. With the rollbars, coilovers and uprated breaking it definately gives more confidence to be more heavy footed Driving through Northampton on the way home the BOV definately gets the heads turning :D @ Marcus get yourself some antiroll bars and get that clutch fitted mate :D @ Gord anytime mate, if you're at the Nots meet :winky: @ Dave on the stuff, cant wait mate :winky:

Just got home after a loooooong day of waiting. I've only had a little drive around London and the M25 and M1 so i cant yet give a full review on it yet. But the turbo is **** AMAZING. The car seems very rapid and the handling is also wicked with the TTE coilovers and the TTE ant roll bars. Braking is also much better with the braided lines and greenstuff pads. Daves guy first took me for a little spin around somepart of London to show me just how good the turbo conversion is. He was flooring it around roundabouts, in and out of traffic and left my mate in his Supra for dead. A few times i thought we're going to crash or i'm going to soil myself. :P The install looks top notch, very tidy and the new air intakes look wicked. The turbo seems much better than the s/c and a lot more fun. The sound when the turbo spins up is great as is the sound of the BOV when you ease off the accelerator. The main cat has also been taken off at the moment so i shall replace it with my standard cat for mot (next week) and then probably fit a performance cat. The exhaust is louder with no cats fitted but does sound good. I've got a few jobs still to do to it, but so far so good. I think thats about everything for now. I'll give another review on it after i've had a proper play. :D

For sure, increments 'i enjoyed typing that'..... so i will do it again 'increments :D At the end of the day 'i thank you' Neil, you gave me the opportunity to... 1:- Understand how to set coilovers. 2:- Map the consequence in 'increments......... :D ' as the vehical is lowerd untill that natural geometry adjusters become out of reach, now there is a scale to generate a guide thanks to you!

After realising that the strut brace would not fit because of the coilovers :duh: How stupid am I after other posts on the same subject, I did a bit of a mod to mill out a slot to accomodate the damper adjusters, suffered minor scratches in the milling process, and finally here she is. And the mod.

Hi Could I ask where you got your coilovers and how much I would be looking at to get a similar set. Also, reference your suspension that you have removed, should I find mine is indeed faulty and decide to replaced with standard items how much would you want for yours (I notice ebay has a set advertised now for £50 + £15 carriage)? Regards ← Hi heres Teins uk website, all the info is on there and contact details. If your looking at buying new coilovers. http://www.tein.co.uk/ Cheers chips.

Not heard of a promlem with them before but have just changed my suspension for coilovers so have a full set for sale . All in full working order. only changed so I could lower it.

Hi and Welcome to the LOC :) Standard shocks should fit ok,ive only owned my car for 6 months so im also still learning. If you look through the garage section on this site there should be other Aristos on there so you can compare the front ride height. On another car i used to own with the electronic dampers there was a warning light that lit up if there was a fault with it. I know that when you turn the sports/power button on which adjusts the gear shift points the suspension also stiffens up slightly. If your looking at changing the suspension id go for coilovers. Paul might be along soon he should be able to answer more of your questions. Cheers chips.

Cool.... Dont think i'll have time to get the other bits fitted for the STS meet, maybe a few.. Also with the coilovers fitted i'm not sure if it'll be too low for the cameras now. :duh:
-
They are indeed the Cs. Handles like on rails but without the harshness that most coilovers give you. Could get better but then ride quality would suffer. Lexus is about comfort.
-
Not quite that much as had big problems with exhaust as it hangs to low down and with such a long wheel base justs grounds out realy easy. Have only got about 12mm drop left on coilovers. Get my new turbo's soon .

Here's a quick pic of my car with tien coilovers fitted and lowered too low as could not get on drive without scraping groves out of tarmac with exhaust. all sorted now as remade decat to beable to lift system up to allow clearance for drive. Only just clears speed bumps if you go realy slow.
