  1. Owen we are at charlesworth motors sat (mini meet)+ fitting of coilovers and some other stuff, if you would like to ring and talk to steve, im sure he can help you out, even if its just to D/check that everything is 100% right with the ECU. the number to ring (01457864416) :D
  2. Eibach springs are -30mm PI springs are -35mm If you want to go lower I think you'll need coilovers For the interior, these come up on Ebay quite regularly, otherwise try a breakers
  3. Lol! Your probably going to be as low as I will be with the coilovers! :P So your going to be there after lunchtime mate? Imi and myself were sort of planning to be there early (at about 10am) so that hopefully things can be sorted by about 6pm if possible. :D I hope so!! :D
  4. Imi, the coilovers should be the same installation as any others, they are on the height I had them on the car now, I believe the damping is set to the softest right now. I couldn't go any lower on them as the driveway is steep and it bottomed out a couple of times so that was the final height I settled for. i'll look for the instructions but like I said they are in japanese so they offer little help. i also don't understand the pre-load stuff so maybe you guys will set them up properly! important thing is no knocking! :winky:
  5. Anees, any coilovers, not just the Apexi's have to be set up correctly. I'm still having a few knocks with mine and will get around to finally sorting them out soon! But you are along the right lines and Neil Mac's thread is the best information available. It's all about measuring the distance with no load on each corner and then measuring the same when the car is down. This will give you the total distance of travel, and from this measurement you should be able to adjust the coil so that the dampener sits in the middle of the upper and lower limits. Look at the diagram on post 28 - the one in the middle is what you are aiming for. With regard to the front adjustable dampening, there are 16 clockwise clicks which give you maximum damening i.e. harder ride. So 8 clicks anticlockwise will give you 50% Hope this helps.
  6. You will reap the benefits of coilovers, handling will be improved 200%! Damping wise, if you go upto 3/4 of the way you might hear some knocking but other than that tune it till your happy. Apexis have almost 30 point adjustment on the damping aswell lol You won't have any issues on a normal kind of drop like 30mm, get them on and set them up as Neils shown in the other thread, pretty simple stuff!
  7. hi there, im new on here and dont actually own a lexus. i have seen your debate about the knocking apexi coilovers. i drive an mr2 which i have recently bought some 2nd hand apexi n1 pros. they too have an adjustable bottom mount and i belive i am expireiencing the same problems as you guys. problem is how do i adjust the bottom mount? I have the locking nut undone but i have no idea how to move the mount. any help would be greatful and sorry for gatecrashing your forum guys B) cheers lee
  8. Got a freind down in Aus with similar wheels on his Altezza, 20s.... Pics aren't great ARB did nothing to improve the handling on my car. Although i do have Apexi coilovers, somewhat diff to the TTEs
  9. Am suggested i add my results here... BEFORE ~~~~~ Front (Driver) = 375mm Front Passenger = 368mm Rear (Drivers) = 385mm Rear (Passenger) = 385mm AFTER (TTE Coilovers) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Front = 325mm Rear = 335mm - I'm on stock 17's. - Half tank fuel. - No wheel / tyre rubbing issues. Aside from having to drive slower over road humps. Slight scraping of bumper mud flaps under stock bumper. :D loving the ride.... a recommended MUST to any "real" driver :winky:
  10. Sounds cool :) Coilovers can be bad thing if u have a fetish for lowness lol put your numbers in this thread, ppl always find it useful http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=20989
  11. Good Morning guys, just an update on the TTE Coilovers :) I'm still VERY impressed. The knocking noise from front passenger side has now disappeared! How you ask?? hehehe, :D lexus sent me a replacement damper.. which as suspected was the problem. The loud knocking noise disappeared instantly. While the car was on the ramp, and the wheels were off, i decided to lower the car a little more. And ooops, made a small "schoolboy error". I stuck the car on the 4 poster ramp... lowered it... tried to drive off, and i couldn't get it off, lol, hehehe.... so we extended the decline a further 3 metres and i drove it off like magic :D Sorted.... the car now sits 50mm lower than stock SE. Front Arch to Wheel Centre = 325mm Rear Arch to Wheel Centre = 335mm :D Moving on... as the noise from the front passenger shock was very loud, but now fixed, the driver side front shock has become apparent, and knocks at low speed around 5mph, over rough road surfaces :( Lexus are sending out another unit, and should receive it by later today... which means i can replace it tomorrow :) The knock isn't alot, but i'm a fussy guy... fingers crossed it's all sorted :D Oh by the way... journey time to work has increased by 3 minutes, as i have to drive like a granny over road humps, lol
  12. Hmm... I've only got the Blitz Sonic filter, a 5.1 FD, a Toda 5.8kg flywheel, Exedy Metallic single plate clutch, TRD clutch cable, Ignite Rev. That's about it. The rest of my modifications are more visual than performance oriented. The regulation here is extremely strict. Having a SC is one of the worst of all offence! That's why I had to blacken my intercooler. The rest of the stuff I've got: Blitz R-Vit (Rendered unusable by Power FC) Blitz R-Fit (Rendered unusable by Power FC) Blitz Power Meter i-D III (Rendered unusable by 5.1 FD) Blitz MMD i-Color (Power and Torque function rendered unusable by 5.1FD) Blitz Bucket seats Blitz Racing Meter DC II Wald Bodykit Night Pager CF bonnet Luftdrag 18"x8 wheels Cusco Zero1 coilovers Cusco Front Strut Next in line: Do Luck Floor Support Bar Do Luck Rear Cross Bar Blitz Oil Cooler Tabata Radiator HKS Racing Headers Wishlist: Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust (highly illegal here!!) Toda 2.2 stoker kit ($$$$$$$$$) Toda 268 deg cams TRD LSD
  13. When I sold my last IS, I stripped the car od the charger, coilovers, wheels, kit etc and sold them seperately from the car which went standard.
  14. and braking and probably clutch also............handling is a must (coilovers and anti roll bars) Welcome to the club :D
  15. Tomorrow, bet you can't wait Let me know how the coilover adjustments went, would be interested to know if Pro-Lex did anything different to me. Read a post on some coilovers for sale on E-bay for a Tezza the other week and the spring rate was 10Kg/mm, roughly the same as I worked out by using the tape measure technique :D
  16. Anees you have a PM. MacRS200 - the TTE coilovers are not adjustable damping... only adjustable height... i just read your post about knocking on the Apexi N1 coilovers.
  17. 2 hours to fit a set of coilovers Want a job ?
  18. Yes Tony its Stapleton's Tyre Services. You did set the geom on my car when i had the eibach springs fitted. Now i've got the TTE coilovers fitted and the car is too low for the cameras, as we discussed at the Watford meet.
  19. Won't you have to raise it anyway Am to get clearance with smaller alloys? Just wondering as I know a few of the guys on here who went from 17 to 18 saw their ride height increase, and Gord's is very high with 19's on! Just wondered as I'm thinking also of taking the wheels off for winter so they can be done up and I can get winter tyres on instead of using the Proxes, I'm going to have to raise the car though - how simple is it to raise the car as I've never adjusted coilovers Guessing I need one of those C spanner things?
  20. Well i guess i'll be looking to see who is selling the anti-roll bars at the cheapest price for next months mod :) I adjusted them with 245mm measuring from centre of the lower bush bolt to the base of the spring saddle, for the front shocks. For the rears i measured 105mm from the centre of the lower bush bolt to the base of the spring saddle. (i did set this at 120mm to start, but decided to change it) I'm not totally sure what these should achieve in reality, because these are the first set of coilovers i've ever fitted. But my aim is to be 40mm-50mm lower than stock at the end of all the tuning. I really need some advice from you guys, cos i'm not sure if i've got the washers at the right height on the shock absorbers... for the drop i'm looking for. The front shock's are adjustable between 220-245mm and the rears are 95-120mm. Which end of the scale am i aiming for, when the spring saddle is in its final lock position? Hope i make sense guys :S Thanks for the compliments :)
  21. I agree with Aido. When i had the TTE coilovers fitted i had the TTE anti roll bars also. Although mine is lowered more than yours. The difference is incredible. Before you do anything else mate...Get some TTE anti roll bars fitted. You wont look back :D What ride height have you gone for
  22. OK can see both pics now, are you going to drop her more or did you just buy the coilovers for the stiffer ride? Sure I can see a pikey hiding in those wheel arches even with the coilovers
  23. The TTE's are good kit mate, just a shame you can't adjust the damping on them at times - have you got anti roll bars yet as if not I'd highly recommend you add those next as they will make a big difference (in my experience bigger than the coilovers!) BTW mate, there's only one pic up there?
  24. Thanks :) I think I'm the only one in these forums who hasn't got a clue what any of the mods you guys actually put on ARE...Coilovers? strut braces?! May as well be speaking Mandarin as far as Im concerned :)
