  1. Get your self a set of eibach's .......... if you can't afford the coilovers.
  2. IMO all the spring kits lower the car less than the spring makers claim. Get yourself set of coilovers and let the slaming commense. How much money you got to spend anyways?
  3. they look very much like the D2 coilovers same purple as well
  4. I would go further than that and say they look identical to the Apexi's right down to the damper adjuster which you can just see in the last pic. Colour is different though. Do either of you know if Apexi make their own coilovers? I ask as maybe these are made by the same supplier that makes the N1's...? Don't know Zee but even the description sounds like the Apexi's. As it is unlikely that Apexi would make coilovers for Greddy, or vice versa, it seems likely that they could well be made by a third party.

  6. I see. Am I correct to say that we shouldnt fit altezza coilovers to IS200's due to the weight differences in the car, mainly the fronts due to the engine? Mind you, i'd imagine the differences would be negligable... Has anyone on here fitted altezza suspension to an IS?
  7. Sorry Niraj - I can't recall if there was any markings or visible difference between the front and rear springs on my old coilovers... :(
  8. [*]Free! - nothin .. theres no such thing as free lunch! [*]Under $50 - K&N air filter [*]Under $250 - HID / TM Rev spark ignition upgrade [*]Under $500 - Toyota Final Drive Gear upgrade [*]Under $1000 - ARB + chassis brace TRD whole set [*]Under $2000 - TEIN RA or HKS Hipermax LS+ coilovers [*]$2000 and over - Turbo i was basing my choices using HKD converted to USD... so i guess u guys "might" think im crazy or somethin! hehe
  9. They are Hipermax.........Hipermax RS The blurb on the website quotes "global product" and "12 months track testing" etc etc Anyway, the mutt's nuts :D ah, yes the Hipermax are great, had them for a few years now, was confused by you only saying RS :) ahha im very silly..i see the title says Hipermax and another edit, actually mine are Hipermax II.... :duh: well there HKS so alls good, make sure you keep washing any salt or crap of the threads, but that goes for any Coilovers really good idea to wrap insulation tape round the threads dont try and grease or oil them, as it will atttract even more crap on them

  11. TTE supercharger Prolex Kazama Exhaust TTE / Eibach -30mm lowering springs or if you want coilovers go for TTE Definately get yourself TTE anti-roll bars ( a must ) No need for any chip or remap etc unless you're going for something like Greddy emanage etc, Which will not be needed with this set up
  12. How about a set of used Apexi type V N1 coilovers?
  13. Just to make it clear, whenever I have had my geometry done, as a sort of peice of mind thing for myself I always post them up on LOC so that Tony can cast his eye over them. This makes me feel confident that a great job has been done (no disrespect to Drury Lane) and that WIM is keeping an eye out for my interests. The last report from Drury Lane was only a few months ago and Tony described it as "solid - a good setup." If other customers of Drury Lane wouldn' mind, could you please post up your geomoetry report from Drury Lane? Scanning it would be ideal. Just hope Tony doesn't mind the extra work of looking at them (sorry mate!) I am keen to see if this is just an isolated incident or if its more serious. I know that Imi's geometry was quite challenging since he was really really low. I would be interested to see his report. Don't understand the issues with Whiteman's setup since (AFAIK it's a standard IS200 setup suspension-wise) Hope we can get some more info and get a better idea of what is going on. :duh: My last Geometry Report (Car lowered 30mm approx on Coilovers)
  14. Monster-Mat

    Altezza

it will have All TRD equipment fitted, the coilovers will either be red, or blue... does your car ook like either of these...without stickers
  15. TTE do not make an induction kit for the supercharger, ive never seen any proven gains for any induction kit for the supercharger a catch 22 situation, a free element induction as you say amplifies the induction the TTE coilover kit is fine, id personally go for anti-roll bars first rather than coilovers, as for BBK, i dont think that you are at the level of performance to require a BBk yet, considering the same brakes are used on the GS430, which is a heavier and more powerfull car. Supercharger fitting isnt very hard at all, i have fitted a fair few aswel, most members have fitted there own on there driveways or with help of other members in fields at car shows welcome, use the search, its a fantastic tool for finding infomation on past topics. if you have any questions im more than happy to answer them, either on the forums, or by PM
  16. Firstly, welcome to LOC. :) If you need to be careful of noise, the don't go for the induction! It's loud! Think about an exhaust (5hp ish) and maybe a manifold. Change your sparkplugs to cooler ones while you are at it. I would suggest you look at anti-roll bars as they will have a big improvement on reducing the roll on the IS. Coilovers are always a worthwhile addition if you can afford them. Hope that helps a little... :)
  17. for me i use a std front anti roll bar, and a drift spec Cusco anti roll bar on the rear i use normal coilovers, but my car weighs bugger all, but on average you should be looking at a 12mm/kg front and 10mm/kg rear with a few degrees negative camber front, neutral rear if possible, or slight negative an LSD is important..i use a KAAZ 2 way, and will shortley be fitting a 5.1 gear reduction aswell
  18. My weight certificate says 1350Kg. I'm not sure how much fuel was in the tank when it was weighed tho, but I'm certain there were NO passengers inside. So I'll go with the coilovers then, along with decent anti-roll bars - as Mat had mentioned earlier. Hmmmm ... any recommendations for anti-roll bars?
  19. If you look at the different spring rates that are being used by the coilover manufacturers, it will appear that there is a very big difference ... for instance Tein CS 8/ 6 Tein Flex 10 / 8 Tein SS 8/ 6 HKS Hipermax II 10/ 9 HKS Hipermax LS+ 8/ 8 HKS Hpermax Pro 16/ 12 Main purpose of the springs are to keep the car at a certain level and to provide enough comfort and handling with the shocks. The above spring rate are chosen by the manufacturer on their own R&D, but can be changed based on a person's personal preference and according to local road conditions. Most JDM coilovers were made for the RS200, which has a similar power output to the IS300. So the IS300 , RS200, AS200/IS200 can all use the same coilovers, it is merely an user preference.
  20. dunno ive not said it would out perform an is300 but there are other varibles to take into account then...other than power to weight.. without actually working out the bhp/tonne if the is200 was to work out higher hp/tonne then its down to power delivery and driver......... on 2 completely std cars......i suppose intresting one, what adds alot of weight to the is300 over the is200 is the autobox, which could aslo be its achillies heel as manuals can be changed faster than the autobox...i suppose. however....back to the Q.... There is no reason why you couldnt use the IS300 Tein coilovers on your AS200 having emailed TEIN USA asking for the IS300 and TEIN Uk, asking for IS200, the spring ratings are the same Front 10mm/kg Compression Rear 8mm/kg Compression looking in the Hyper Rev magazine for the RS200 and AS200 the spring ratings are the same as those listed for the IS300 and IS200
  21. nope coilovers are a very good step in the right direction, along with decent anti roll bars
  22. You could go for air suspension. You can get direct replacement that have adjustable rebound like on coilovers but have a bag instead oprings. They work realy well and give total control on ride hieght from a switch inside the car. Was going to have mine done but spending the money on engine first. I think it costs about 3500 fitted. Ther is cheaper but these ones are quality.
  23. ah but the 150kg heavier that the is300 is, is kerb weight not gross weight. and everyone is forgetting..... THIS IS IS300 COILOVERS ON AN IS200........................ so there is no issue, jesus, why is this becoming such a long winded topic, the question was would they be ok...and the answer is yes :duh: far to many internet specialists here.....the handeling will not be compromised, and certainly wont be affected in a manor that will be noticed for the worse, as i have said were talking about a compression difference on the TTE coilover set up of 0.43mm/Kg compression. there is nothing stated that the spring compression rates are not the same for the TEIN springs....
  24. i can answer that in one 3 letter abbreviation dave TUV, nothing more nothing less, when you have actually had to deal with TUV on a level that i have you will understand that TUV requires that level of product seperation plus the is200 springs would be a little more springy...infact 0.43mm/Kg compression, so as ive already said negligable, but this is is300 coilovers on an is200.....so no problem whatsoever, as i have said now 3 times and i think were detracting from the question here.........and thats yes is300 coilovers can be used on the is200
  25. Cant see TTE offering different sets of springs for each model if it was not required. The coilovers Prolex-UK will be bringing over soon also have different spring rates (price is the same as is TTE)
