I actually never use the auto light feature. I found they don't come on soon enough for me at dusk, i always found myself switching on the lights before the auto feature did! And yes in short tunnels i'm almost out the other end before they come on! Lol!

SM, you should get the carbon insert rear tails to go with the spoiler! Spoiler looks good i like it. Carbon bonnet to match?

Mike B, i wasn't talking about the bulbs, i was talking about Huddy being confused when he said his last car had Xenons and his current car has HIDs, he didn't mention bulbs. I understand you can put Xenon 'type' bulbs in a hologen reflector but when you say you have Xenons and want to replace them with HID's these are the same thing! Which is what is initially said!!

Huddy. Xenon's and HID's are the same thing mate! High Intensity Discharge headlights use Xenon gas to provide the light, but if your car already has the factory set up then no aftermarket kit will compare. Everything else is as Rob says.

I asked the same question about splitting it before i seen the Q&A on the ad! Lol! Been waiting AGES for a TTE rear skirt! Got the rest, TTE front, lip spoiler. Unfitted til i get the rear skirt :(

Love those wheels (is there anybody who doesn't?) I missed a set or 2 on ebay a few times, gutted i was! There is a guy who sells them individually on ebay at £50 each. always tempted but then i might end up with just 1 or 2! Lol! Car looks fine aztecbandit!! :)

I also like the subtle look gone are my loud car days! Lol! I got a black IS and have silver with chrome curved decals.

Great thread! I always thought i was alone with the OCD of my Lex! Lol! I've had mine since 2005 and i've had a few bad experiences. Until 2007 it was just me who used the Lex. Looked after it lovingly, washed by hand weekly, polished, cleaned to an inch of its life. We had 2 cars and it wasn't financially beneficial so my Mrs sold her Fiesta Zetec S and we agreed she could use the Lex (yeah i know!!) On the very first drive we went out together so she could get used to it, went to Lakeside. Cutting a long story short we parked in those drive in diagonal spaces. Parked nicely, within the lines, just ready to shift it into P and what does she do? Hits the gas instead of the brake!! Shock, disbelief, horror! I almost dragged her out the car (LOL!) not wanting to make a scene. I checked the car for damage and luckily there wasn't too much wrong, cracked plate, scuffed bumper but the other car was pushed out its space! Funny when you look back now but not at the time. All she could say is well its not that bad nothing is broken! She was sorry and shocked so i left the lecture til later! Lol! Anyway now she is the main user and the car has many little scuffs here and there, none ever her fault though. Like the time in a multi storey car park coming out, mis-judged the turn and the front bumper ended up scuffed and cracked. I wasn't with her but knew where she went and saw it on her return and knew exactly how it happened. "It wasn't me" she said. Think the worst one was what i noticed one day when i was cleaning it. Thousands of stone chips along the nearside from front wing to rear wing. Very small but noticeable when close up. Where the hell they come from i wondered? Then after racking my brains i got it! The grass had been cut next to where my car was parked. The lawnmower has spat out all the crap as it cut and it was against my car! Livid i was. I still do get real angry when i see the marks i already know are on the car. I know how all you guys feel and i think it is impossible to keep the car mint unless you wrap it up in bubble wrap and don't drive it. Either that or have plenty of money and time to keep it mint and keep calling on Chips Away! I'm currently trying to get some money together to give mine a facelift. (should last about 6 months) Noone realises when you have a car that you cherish and try to look after. To most people i know a car is to get from A to B, yes they look after them but have no idea what swirl marks are or bother about stone chips or car park dents or scuffed rims or anything else. Anyway i have waffled enough now sorry to bore you all. Interesting to read everyone elses stories and views.

I hate red cars!! With the exception of yours Kris! Looks amazing mate i love how you've made it look modded but with standard mods (if that makes sense?) The wheels look mint why are you changing them? I was thinking before i read your post - polished 18" TTE's!! Would look awesome!!

I'm sure it will work mate although as said you will need the viewing card for the second box. I think you will only get the same package in another room if you do multiroom though? I was looking for a way around this also, i currently pay for the full package from Sky, Sky+ in main room and multiroom my bedroom. I've been waiting for the HD box upgrade to come down in price and it just has to £49 installed if you take the HD package plus multiroom. What i find annoying and a ripp off is the monthly cost and no discount for customer loyalty. My current package is £45.50 per month, plus multiroom £10. With a new package i'd have to pay on top of that £9.75 for HD, and £10 for another multi room! A wopping total of £75.25 per month just to watch my damn TV! Without the poxy TV licence and install fee, i've had many fall outs with Sky over it but they won't budge. If there was another way it would be great, Sky HD in main room, Sky+ in my bedroom and the other multiroom for my sons room. But £75 per month!! Ouch!

Look very good indeed. Thinking about doing something similar myself looks much neater and pro like than sticking them on top of headlights etc. The new TT has them fitted like this too. Are they connected up as DRL's ready for 2011?

Bad here in Dagenham too. I'm a driving instructor but unfortunately none of my pupils wanted to have any fun in Tesco's car park! lol! On top of that the Mrs wanted to drive to work at 7am in the Lex, so i hid the keys...she doesn't understand that that would be the last time i see the Lex in one piece! So instead me and the children went out to have some fun in the snow :) Take care people!

There was a guy who used to sell these on ebay at £40 each brand new. I was after a set myself and i asked him if he had a set, no he said, but then as each one sold he'd list another! Bit of an arse really and i didn't bother as didn't want to risk ending up with 3 or something. Really like them though, i'm waiting for a set to crop up somewhere....probably wait as long as i have been for a TTE rear skirt! Good luck choosing your rims mate its never easy deciding.

Gutting mate sorry to hear that. The front of them though to take it off your drive. Makes me mad to think we work hard to pay for our luxuries and then some low life can just come and take it. I know exactly you feel i once had my brand new ST stolen, no keys, no broken glass no tow truck. The only thing the police said was that a key must've been cut, and funnily enough i had it in at Ford a week prior to its theft, coincidence!? Have you had or has anyone else had your keys recently? Hope its recovered and the scum get run over or something nasty happens to them. Although karma never seems to get these kind of people.

I must say everytime i see the additions to your car i read through with my jaw on the floor! Lol! I love attention to detail myself and your car is very unique in every way, perfectly done. Not only that but you can take most of the credit for the work done, such great skill. Fantastic car P.Lindblom! I do so hope you never finish this project as then we'll have nothing to follow and no more tips, guides and great work! Lol! As Steviewevie said, i dislike the TRD rear skirt, but in silver with the matt black looks awesome!! Completely changes it. Great idea!! As for the rear lights, i have been searching for ever to find the standard lights in LED form. I agree with Parthiban that the original lights are the best suited, i once had the black DEPO lights but the LEDs started to fail. I have seen so many US IS300's with the LED conversion done to the standard lights, but it seems all the companies that carried out the conversions no longer exist!!? I have found a company who does LED lights (conversions) in the UK who would be willing to make a set for the IS, but due to the work involved it would cost me a lot of money for a one off set. But he did say if i could get more people involved it would obviously bring the cost down. I wasn't/aren't sure if i was allowed to advertise that fact on here? Anyway sorry to go off topic!! Once again a fantastic IS, great work , great photography and great skills! P.Lindblom, i am really looking forward to seeing these projector headlights!??
