Thank you guys. I think you might have convinced me to go with a regular 300 (this one looks good http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201803214783125). Having had some difficult-to-solve niggles with my IS300, I don't want to go there again.
Much appreciated!
You won't regret getting a 300. Quick enough and has that Lexus waft. Plus taking it easy you can get 40mpg on the motorway. IS300 a great car too, I had 2 of them from new. Miss the straight 6 sometimes.

C63 one year Mercedes warranty £4300. ISF two year Lexus warranty £995. Says it all really.

When I considered the hybrid the main advice was to have a health check done on the hybrid system which I believe is about £60 or so at Lexus. In the end I went for the non hybrid as I wanted to keep things as simple as I could. Also the shock absorbers which are a weak point seem to be much cheaper on the 300.
Only cheaper on the pre 2008 GS300. Both great cars. Check the exhaust where the two rear silencers meet.

I have the same problem at one of my customers car park. Key does nothing when parked there. I just lock manually. I happened to mention it to the staff there and non of them can lock their cars by remote.

I'll be following this thread. Mine is the same. I mostly listen to Radio 2 which must be quite a strong signal and is 80% ok but any local stations are very hissy.

A few Lexus on the new Transformers currently showing on Sky. Unfortunately they all get wrecked. Including an old IS200 [emoji853]

Ive emailed Lexus UK and asked what is happening with the GS. Will let you know if I get anything back.
I asked Lexus UK the same thing and they said nothing in the pipeline to remove the GS from the current model list. But they would say that I suppose.

All just for TV effect. Every corner the LC came out oversteering.

Goodyear Vector 4 seasons SUV G2 without a doubt in that size. Just make sure you change all 4 as they are all seasons.
They are very very good tyres for the UK climate
+1 for the Goodyear’s. Got them on my GS300 and performed extremely well in the recent snow and ice. I’ve had rear wheel drive Lexus before and would of got no where in the recent conditions.

When you think back to 2013 and dealers were selling the last few for £35k to get rid of them.

might be a light sensor to dim the mirrors at night if a car is behind you. But must admit I've not noticed it before so going to have a look now

Didn’t even know there was one. So has it gone now?

No much to go wrong with GS300 to be honest. As it’s a 09 the dampers will be electronic so expensive to change if leaking. Check AC working ok as compressor known to seize.

Sorry to see that. If you’re having to pay for repairing the other car too might be worth giving up your no claims. Have you checked it’s not protected anyway.

I wouldn't worry yet about the creaking. It could just be the unusual cold snap were having. See how it is once it's (if ever) warmed up a bit.

Not an NX or Cross Climates but out in my GS300 today with Goodyear Vector4Seasons on and it was superb on snow and compacted ice. On summer tyres I'd still be on our side street. Always staring in my mirrors though as it stops so easily.

Be a few years yet till I can afford one[emoji3] waiting on GSF to drop a bit more. Can’t be far away as they’re dropping £40k in 18 months already.

No tyre is is any good on snow or ice.

Yes there is. They are called winter tyres.

So the Goodyear F1 wouldn’t be any good for winter and summer.

In summer it’s one of the best. In snow or ice leave your car at home.

Mine did exactly the same at 10 years old. Luckily still under warranty so Lexus fitted all new and strangely all the AC piping as well.

I need a good tyre which is good for use in winter and summer. What would you suggest. The Goodyear F1 asymetric 3 seems a really choice. Thanks

Goodyear F1 is a summer tyre. Goodyear vector4seasons is their all weather tyre.

Cheers guys, so am I right in now thinking the wheels are the wrong ones?
No, they are the right ones.

Many thanks, John [Britprius] for a very good explanation of the hybrid system. I had read a couple of times that the IS 300h hybrid battery will only drive the car for a couple of minutes before it is depleted, perhaps less than that.
Again thanks for the post.
I will have a watch of the Tesla video - and then go and buy a new P90S with the 600 bhp upgrade................................... I don't think
Parkman.
It does make you think when a Tesla can do 350 miles and a 450h only 1mile on a full charge.
Going to see a 450h tomorrow, any tips?

You will find the GS300 actually quicker so nothing to miss there.
