  1. Agree 100% but that said my CLS55 was pretty exclusive but much like the IS-F, it didn't really stand out, looking (to Joe Public at least) very much like it's "lesser" variants.
The RC just screams out at one, even parked up in the corner of a car park there's almost like a big balloon floating above it saying "Look at me"!!
Even without the rich burble of the V8 to attract attention mine seems to catch the eye of passing patrol cars (it's not my driving, honest!!), a couple have done a U turn to catch up and shadow me for a couple of miles before giving the thumbs-up and turning off. We're just back from a midweek break on Burgh Island and we lost count the number of cars on the A38/A303 that pulled along side then dropped back to check out the car.
Exclusivity is great but one still needs the car to be noticed. 18 months into ownership and I still grin like a Cheshire cat every time I drive it :yahoo:

On a completely different note. Burgh Island is fantastic! Is Gary still working the bar?

  2. 4 hours ago, DAW said:

I understand from another member in the trade that my recently sold ISF didn’t depreciate at all last year, so it would appear the residuals are currently bottoming out for low mileage examples.

If the ISF is anything to go by 30-35k is a good point to pick up a well looked after low mileage RCF.  Keep the mileage relatively low & it will work out as cheap motoring for a performance car with strong residuals later 🤞, especially as they are currently rarer than the ISF 👍🏻

Currently rarer than the ISF but they have already sold more so the ISF will win out there.

  3. I bought a Citizen Eco Drive when I got my first Lexus IS200 just because the dials looked the same as the cars. That was 19 years ago and it’s been worn every single day, been to lots of different country’s, swam in every ocean. Never lost time and never changed the Battery yet. I’m still impressed when it changes the time automatically spring, autumn and when I enter a different country. Didn’t cost much and probably worth nothing now but could never change it.

  4. I'm a bit confused about ES. I've seen a good number of video reviews from American folk on their version of the is300h that is the es300h.
As for the demise of the GS in our country sometime soon it doesn't bother me. Before I got my is300h I did want the GS. I test drove one and loved it. However the boot for such this sized car is short of pathetic. Plus the car had to seat my daughter her 12yr old son and baby daughter  (in a baby seat).
I test seated both cars and they stated catagorically the IS was more comfy than the GS. I was shocked so bought the IS.
As for lexus being niche. I bought lexus because I wanted hybrid and self charging is best. I'm not posh either. I'm a truck driving real ale  heavy metal loving 55yr old middle class fella.
The GS is a fab car but I see far more IS and LS cars on the road. Maybe the demise is due to sales. I don't know but I do hope it's replacement is a better car with a decent boot.

The non hybrid boots in GS are plenty big enough. Let’s hope non hybrid ES’s come as well.
