  1. The thing is, if you have to go over a speed bump or your driveway you must break. So, the CLUNK comes from the break calipers meeting the break pads. I had the dreaded squeak and my pads were about 50% worn.

I changed the pads, cleaned the calipers with some copper coat at the back and both clunk and squeak dissapeared.

  2. Hey Dr,

I am interested in the data :D . Am I to believe it is different from the tracking settings posted on the home page. I have read previous threads concerning IS 200 wheel dynamics and you always seem to confuse me with the technical info :geek: .

I have noticed the front inner tyres cutting. Maybe the info can help me sort it out.

    thanks,

  3. I have a 70L tank and after changing to a K&N air filter and cleaning my iridium spark plugs I get approx 550 km, until the light comes on and the needle is flat on 'E'. I have read that I have another 10L after the light comes on.

That works out to about 26 MPG..... :crying:

I was hoping for more, but .............and also the gasoline I get is 95 RON at best, not very good for the IS 200. Hope that helps, one thing is the car drives like a dream.

  4. OK, flolks. Its that time again, 40,000k service I mean. I need to flush my transmission. Note I said flush, and not drain. Draining from what I have read only gets rid of approx. 2 quarts of fluid. I am going to get the transmission pumped out and flushed.

    Well>>>>>>>>to the point.

Does anyone know the total fluid capacity of the auto transmission of the IS 200?

    thanks in advance.....

  5. I remember a week after having my car I drove my wife Nissan Sentra, I nearly died. The car felt strange. The funny part is; before I bought the lex I had a Nissan Sentra just as hers and the car felt fine.............I just cant go back.

  6. Back to the K&N filter....................I recently replaced my DIRTY oem filter with the k&n filter, cleaned my iridium plugs and reset the ECU. I have re-filled my gas tank twice. The result?..............from 500 to 600 km per tank( approx 28 mpg) :) . I am very pleased with the performance, plus it sounds great.

I noticed that if I am coasting (foot off the gas pedal and decelerating) the gear shifts down a little quicker???? Not a problem just that it feels a little different.
