  1. I bought a Hks hyper muffler for my IS last week which like everybody else is pretty happy with......Until someone showed me max power today & I saw they have just released a 'universal' model which costs a mere £150!!!!!!!!!

I just paid about £400 squid for mine! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo:(

Someone please tell me that it's not as good!!!!:sniff:

here is a link directly to the PIAA site in the bulbs section

    http://www.piaa.com/9000seriesbulbs.html

I will take some pics tomorrow night & see if I can scan in the brochure & will post them in a day or so....if your really desperate to see them, then your local 'carnoisseur' will have brochures etc... well thats where i got mine from :bounce:

  3. Got the PIAA bulbs now.....Wow they are great!!! Decided on the Super white version oposed to the xtreme white version. They really are worth every penny, these bulbs make the blue vision ones look like i was driving in candlelight. Highly recomended even if they are £70 a set!!

Incidently...in there brochure the IS is splattered all over it....they make a HID spotlight kit which looks pretty mighty :tumble: But it will set you back a massive £995 :o

  4. Well found out more for those interested.... an anti tamper Torx bit is a six sided star with a hole in the middle...these can be picked up fairly easily.... on the ecu it looks just like an anti tamper Torx apart from it's a five sided star with a hole in the middle, Ive found out from major tool suppliers & people I know who work at toyota garages that this is a special oem tool that is not available to buy at all, local garages in my area have tried to get this tool & they have had no luck, ive been told that lexus come out & unscrew it for them for a charge!!! How mad is that!! Now that is a high security tool!!

The next thing im going to do is put a drop of oil into the screw then put in some sort of putty that dries to metal..eg araldite...even if it breaks after one turn then at least i'll be able to get the ecu open!!

I'll let you all know how i get on.

I have also used PIAA SuperWhites -

    pretty good too.

Blue bulbs are, by definition, always going to be less bright than white bulbs!!

Yea they are the bulbs I was on about...cheers I think i'll buy some :tumble:

As for the blue vision bulbs...Ive just checked my old ones & they are non standard...my car was six months old when I bought it so the previous owner must of swapped them....they are made by ring! so they could be an upgrade??

  6. I recently bought some Phillips blue vision bulbs & have found that the standard bulbs are better. The blue vision bulbs give off lest light & have reduced my night time viewing distance, anyone else found the same?

Ive been told that 'Pia' bulbs are the best, apparently their 51w bulb gives off the equiv of a 100watt bulb!! That sounds more like it...only trouble is that they cost £70 a pair & I dont want to fork out if they are not going to live up to expectations, anyone tried these?

Ive seen the HID thread so please dont reply with 'see thread.......'

    Any help/advice would be great,

    Cheers

  7. Had a merc once that did the same thing(petrol smell), took it back to merc garage about 10 times before they found the fault. It turned out to be a very small breather pipe that was split, which was near to the aircon....probably completley different but just thought i1d let you know!

That is a serious premium!!! I am with 'The Privelage' I am 33, was disquallified for speeding for 6months(4Yrs ago), but I have 6yrs no claims & I pay £550 Fully comp with windscreen & key insurance. I only have a £250 excess on it & my girlfriend is insured to drive! You need to double check mate....I havent tried them but ive seen gold members get discounted insurance too. There is no way you should be paying that!

  9. Great Stuff!! Just what I need, Give me a week & hopefully we'll have a load more members from the cambridgeshire area. Still think their should be something on it about discounts etc.....

Or how about we print them onto something with a magnetic background.. that way I can throw them onto moving cars!!!:tumble::lol::tumble::lol:

  10. Dave Seaman is the man!!!!

He kept us in the game, save after save after save...... I think they did brill, instead of running off trying to score more goals then throwing it all away they scored & then defended to the end.

Come on boys..........you can do it!!!!

Be good to see teamlexus.com on one of those banners wouldnt it :)

  11. Got to say, hats off to Ireland!!! They did well & in the last minute of injury time!!!! Did you see the manager leaping for joy? That was great! As for England.. Ive got high hopes for them, I dont think the will win but I do think we will go further this time round...Come on everyone have a bit of faith..we havent lost a match in ages! I mean look at france:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: They got stuffed the other day & they are the champions:lol::lol:

  12. Many moons back when i was a scooterboy I drove my lambretta to barcelona & made it without breaking down once!!!! But boy oh boy did I need to head straight to the chemist to buy the biggest tube of Germeloids when i got back  Should be a doodle!!

  13. Yep, I know what you mean mate...the car does feel a bit like it's slipping out but that is just due to what the others are saying....bit of practice & youll be flying through the bends  also remember that youve got traction control too that will look after you! But for more confidence go for the anti-roll bars & lowering springs....just had mine done & the ride feels firmer & bumpier, but it now feels like the cars on rails:smilegrin:
