  1. Hi, I'm in the middle of sorting out some I.C.E. for the car (IS200) and was wondering how hard it is to run a power cable from the engine bay out to the boot to power some extra amps. Is there an easy route or will it be a case of drilling holes etc?
  2. i haven't looked at the brakes yet but I'll take a look at the pads, has the braking improved much? i'm thinking that i might not clean the car for JAE in the hope that there is a dirtiest Lexus of the show award. :D
  3. its always very dirty, it gets driven quite hard so there's an awful lot of brake dust on the front normally. it hasn't been cleaned for a while either (usually clean it every couple of months). i was actually reading some of the inside and out thread last night and have ordered some Zymol products so there's a chance it will be clean when it comes back. although i do like it when it's dirty (it looks meaner and people get out of the way when you're driving!).
  4. Its a strange mix but anyway: Eminem - The Eminem Show Puddle of Mud - Come Clean Ja Rule - Pain is Love Marilyn Manson - The Last Tour on Earth Cream - Future Trance 1 & 2
  5. Err, not sure, its been on there for a couple of months now. Maybe it won't be on there when it comes back!
  6. Yep, that would be mine, its been there for 1262400 seconds so far (not that I'm counting! :smilegrin ) Got some more toys at MaxPower this weekend. Hope to be pretty much done by JAE although have to see how it goes. :D:D:D:D
  7. There are a lot of IS's in America that can do better. e.g. anything by ToyoMoto, or Freelance's car (M-Killer). Before it was crashed M-Killer was putting out 502HP (rear wheels!) at high boost. Attatched is the dyno for low boost. The CLK 55 AMG has only got 342BHP (engine) and 376LB/FT but weighs 1594kg. According to the spec. an IS200 weighs only 1363kg so with a bit of work it shouldn't be too hard to do better. Watch the signature over the next couple of weeks!
  8. Not sure about the affect on resale but I had a large scratch down the passenger door (van in london traffic), it was fixed at the last service charge is basically GBP 400 per panel (Lexus Park Lane).
  9. Reminds me of Sigourney Weaver in Galaxy Quest I'd read out the instructions on the Sat Nav of course !
  10. i would want to get paid if ruby wax was the co-driver
  11. www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk Sounds like a pretty good event
  12. i'm looking to get gold membership, will it be possible to bring cash to the JAE to save the hassle of wiring money etc?
  13. Name: Keiran Felton Lexus Model: IS200 Sport People Attending: 1 Definately going to be there.
  14. mine is a december 1999 and you can either push the button for water or pull the stalk towards you for water and about three wipes.
  15. Takakaira in Japan is doing them for $117 at the moment and given the terrible US economy and market performance this week (exchange rate is 1.54) this works out at GBP 76. Not sure about delivery charge but it shouldn't be too much. www.takakaira.co.jp
  16. So far the only engine mod I've had is the exhaust. TDi have the car for a couple of weeks to fit the supercharger, change the pulley on the supercharger to increase the boost, develop the manifold, fit the HKS roll bars, fit the CUSCO lower arms (if they arrive in time) and hopefully build up a new air filter if they have time. If the car is finished in time it will be at Santa Pod for the "Run What Ya Brung" on 12th July. Assuming I haven't broken it by 28th I'll be at the JAE!
  17. Get the front strut brace if you are after major performance improvements for very little money (about GBP 75-80 for the CUSCO). The improvement in turn in and road holding around corners is a significant improvment over the original car.
  18. I had the Hiper Dampers fitted a few months ago now at TDi and have had plenty of chance to expirement. I live in London so the roads are terrible, I keep the front on about 3/4 full stiffness and the rear slightly harder and have had no complaints about comfort. The front and rear struts made a big difference to the cornering. The car is at TDI for a couple of weeks now so I'm missing it already! Having HKS roll bars fitted along with some other goodies. If you are still after a babe magnet try setting the Hiper Dampers to full race settings front and rear - you can feel every bump but its quite a fun drive and puts a smile on the face of any passengers!
  19. I've seen some US cars where they have either an ApexI RSM / V-AFC in the gap or the controls for Nitrous. I'd go with the Nitrous if you can though
  20. Did you try Admiral?, my IS200 was my first car so I didn't have any no claims bonus. I was 22 when I got the car, I bought the car new with full leather interior, it also has the front, rear and side skirts on it as standard. Everyone was quoting 2000 - 3000 except Admiral who did it for 750. Admiral are also good with the modifications, adding the Hiper dampers, Drager exhaust and Cusco struts added only 40 to the insurance.
  21. Currently thinking of getting some 19s but I'm a bit worried about damaging them, I live in London and we have some pretty bad roads. Driving home today hit a pot hole at about 30mph which was enough to bottom out the front left suspension (I have the Hiper's set on the hard side of medium) didn't do any damage but does anyone think that this sort of pot hole might damage 19s?
  22. Santa Pod has several "Run What Ya Brung" days coming over the summer months: June 23, July 14, Aug 4, Aug 18, Sept 1, Sept 15, Oct 6, Oct 13, Oct 20, Nov 3. Has anyone been to one of these? I'm interested in going once my engine tuning is done but wondered if anyone has been before.
  23. Cusco rear strut from Takakaira (part no.20462) on my IS200
  24. Cusco front strut from Takakaira (part no.20461) on my IS200
  25. If you are talking about the strut braces I would get them direct from takakaira in japan, mine only cost $117 each and took about 4 days to ship. http://www.takakaira.co.jp/php/table.php3?id=672&cat=2
