I used to have the same problem but managed to get it cured!!! It never did it again when I had had the Supercharger fitted, the gear change is soo much smoother now. I have no idea why this has happened or whether it was just coincidence.
Si
Same for me. Its a pretty expensive way to fix a sticky gearbox though :(

The IS has actually held its value very well (assuming correct spec) when compared to many other cars. Not sure of the effect of modifying on value, has anyone sold a modded IS?
-
I hope that picture is a joke - it looks awful. Should be good for keeping the value up on the current model though.

no way, not going for them! someone on IS300.net wants them! i think they are terrible but funny

i can't wait to see the supra swap if that's the nitrous install!

I'd agree with Simon, the supercharger will transform the car and still leave you some money from the 5000.

I'm 25, 3 years no claims (only been driving since I got the IS back in 1999)

Don't think I'm going to be able to make it this weekend, have to go in to work on both days maybe make it to the NEC next week.

Also got a good quote from roadsure - 020 8989 3339

Just got a quote from the specialist vehicle deparment of Adrian flux, filled in the form on the internet so its' only provisional. Fully comp quote with all the mods on my car came in at 1099, this is stunning compared to the other quotes that I've had.
Wow - going by your sig - thats a really good price!
i will call them tonight to see if they've made a mistake and if not to change insurance companies!

Definately a good day! As for the trip back guys - you two should have followed me instead of taking the M3, could have had a nice cuppa in sunny Gosport - only took me 15 mins after leaving you two!
Here Kieran - did you let that fiesta in front of you on the dual carriageway or did he not see the Lexus brigade he was getting in the way of!?!?? :duh:
Thanks for the stickers Steve, i'll get them on when I get round to polishing my windows (along with the rest of the car! )
Cheers All!

My insurance is up for renewal on November 10th, does anoyone know of a good company that I can change too, I'm currently with Admiral but the premiums went up a silly amount with the Supercharger etc, didn't worry too much since it was only for a couple of months.
I'm looking to change in time for the 10th, spoken to a couple of firms so far and the quotes are ok although not great, does anyone have a small specialist firm that they could recommend or any company in general that might be competitive?

Clifford and even the Millennium Max 2 Way Alarm have the handy remote start........
and when the battery is low it starts the car to help it and shuts down again.
I don't suppose anyone is too concerned but ....
If you use these 'handy' remote / auto start features while your car is on a public highway, you're breaking the law
Could this also be a bit dangerous if you leave it in gear? Or does it not let you start if the car is in gear?

I have the opposite query !
I am a recent owner of an IS200SE and am pretty satisfied. Except that I don't see what the low profile 17" alloys are doing for me, other than increasing the tyre noise, suspension choppiness and kerb impact damage.
Can someone tell me, in simple language :
a) are the 17" alloys 'just for visual show', or do they enhance performance in some way ? Please be honest.
B) can I downgrade from 17" to bog standard 15" tyres, on my SE ?
i think that 15's would make the car look a bit odd, the 17's are already too small for the arches, switching to smaller wheels would make it look very empty.

You do have to be pretty careful in the wet, the car has got a bit of a habit of the rear braking away when its a bit damp - I've had many sideways moments at roundabouts! The traction control is definately worth while - Simon has had some very positive feedback on the racelogic traction control. I will be getting it fitted soon - speak to TDi if you are interested in it, SimonSkippy will be able to give you more information about how it has helped.
