Actually I didn't think about the potential insurance problems with this, doesn't worry me too much though - I've purchased all the components in Geoffer's diagrams and will be building it anyway. I think Chip is talking more about the fact that you are modifying your car in a way that interfaces with the existing alarm system and could be perceived to alter the system. An insurance company will use any excuse it can find to get out of paying for a claim and this could be one way they get out of it since you are effectively tampering with the alarm system - they could also claim that it caused a malfunction or anything. Even though the added circuit cannot cause any problems the insurance company could probably decide that it does and make up its own mind.

Fuelling is fine on my car, putting out more than 250 though and red line at 6500. Rods and pistons are my next mod before upping boost again and adding nitrous.

Not sure I'd fancy the torque steer from a 300bhp fwd car :D the Focus RS is bad enough. Does the car have a torque steer problem or not too bad?

Best sort out the pistons and rods first (see pic). Not really built for much horsepower, I'm a bit worried about mine - starting to drag race it so not sure how they will hold up.

Which gear is that in for 60-100 - top gear? I'll try a 60-100 tonight see how it goes, probably quick but I don't think 5.8. What is the 0-60 and 1/4 mile for the Nova? I'm guessing pretty quick since its a light car. Are you the Chip from cbforums?

I think different preferences, I like bits of it but not others: Paint work on the outside is good, head unit is good (thinking of something similar myself). I'm not sure about the door builds though - the quality of the join from the original door to the builds is not too good compared to some of the other modified IS's I've seen pictures of.

Was annoyed this weekend after getting ERR3 on CD player so decided to take centre console apart! Ordered bits from Maplin and RS so that I could change the colour - wasn't sure on colour to choose so ordered enough for different colours and mistakes. I ordered green and red to try the centre console in both, for the CD player I ordered components for red, green and blue. Once the CD player is fixed I'll try changing the colour. The centre console was *REALLY* easy (30 minutes), seat heaters not sure on yet (broken one so far), will work on it more carefully now I know how much they cost. The radio is not too bad although you need to solder surface mount components to do it properly. I've had a look at my ApexI RSM and it should be a 10 minute job to do as well although it can only be blue or green without a lot of work. I need to look at the dash (not taken it off yet) - maybe this weekend if I have time. I'll do the door lights, glove compartment, cigarette lighter and ignition barell this weekend too with a bit of luck. in real life the colour is the same all the way accross, need to find a way to take better pictures in the dark - any ideas at all?

Just spoke to the dealer, was told that since the car is more than 3 years old I will have to pay for repair etc. (approx 300). :iraqi-info-minister: Spoke to Lexus customer care (01737 363633) and was told that it is a known problem and covered by extended warranty and will therefore be fixed for free, customer care is going to call the dealer and give then a wrist slapping. :iraqi-info-minister: Moral of the story - dealer's try to rip you off, speak to Lexus customer care if you have any doubts!

Broke one this weekend, just spoke to parts department of Lexus, 44.17+ VAT for a replacement switch. :o :o :o
