  1. Only requirement was that I had to provide it in writing. They obviously did it through gritted teeth as they were losing a sale, but nothing they can do about due to consumer rights. The delivery date not being due is completely irrelevant and so just the sales persons trying to not lose a deal. Many people ordered before the demo vehicles were available and so orders were always seen as test drive dependant. Interestingly my deposit was paid to Lexus UK but my refund came from the dealership itself (Steven Eagle). The reality is you can cancel for no other reason than you simply changed your mind!

  3. Agreed, all about the deal being locked in. I think the next update will be bad news after seeing the earthquake. Renesas have closed three of their factories so further semiconductor supply issues for us all! Yeah, I was refunded after securing a better deal.
  4. Interesting... My last update was 01/03 and they quoted mid-July for my 10/01 order...
  5. Yes, I'm pretty sure you can tell it when to charge via the app... So get home and plug it in, but set it so that it charges in the early hours and hits 100% just before you need to leave...
  6. As I have the Superman combo on order it's obviously a red vote from me! My first three Lexus were black interior (silver, blue, blue) and the last three have been red (blue, black, silver) as the black became boring for me. Think all the previous were a darker shade of red though... Multiple dealers have said the Superman combo sells really well and my own experience definitely backs that up.
  7. I chased this morning and was told they're allocating an engineer and someone will be in touch once confirmed... So still waiting for a call back...
  8. These Bridgestone Alenza were on the F Sport demo I had a test drive in. Not found them online but assume this is what Stapleton's will be supplying eventually.
  9. I got an estimate from BG today for the 8m cable so assume that means it's been approved by UK Power Networks. It was after hours so I've completed the online form accepting the quote and they are supposed to call me back to book it in.
  10. How much did the full package set you back? I'm seriously considering ceramic coating and so just a question of what exactly and how, as also plan on getting the protection pack and side steps. Full package makes sense so real challenge is finding a reputable place that works logistically, which may not be possible so good to have tried and tested options.
  11. My old order has finally disappeared so guess I won't be able to compare timescales...
  12. I'd also throw Twickenham into the mix as it used to be my local, and had no issues with them (Jackie is lovely). It's Currie Motors. Also used Edgware Road once and no complaints.
  13. Interesting to hear peoples view of the rear legroom. I didn't really pay much attention as it's just the Mrs and my nearly 2yr old and so I only really checked in relation to the child seat, including how wide the back doors open as saw mention of it not being as wide as some would like (ok in my opinion and not that different from my RX). Reviews I've seen have all said rear legroom is good, and sure one guy was 6'2 and so checked it with the driver's seat set for him also. Also in the position where I don't really need something as big as the RX and so feel it's a no brainer for me. Brand new model with all the new tech plus a PHEV that also has more power and better driving dynamics. I like the dark headliner but hoping my flare red interior helps brighten the cabin, but as my pan roof is closed and covered most of the time not sure that I'll notice really, especially as that's what the previous RC was like. So probably wouldn't be worthwhile investment for me if the option was available.
  14. I've only ever changed them when they no longer clear the screen properly.
  15. Naa, not the F Sport... The additional front and rear skirts make it look like one from a glance, but grill and intakes give it away...
  16. Thanks Alan. Just realised it's not an F Sport and so will be like the classic dark rose, rather than flare red! D'oh! I feel exactly the same as you regarding the interior - my first 3 Lexus had black but next 3 were red and the new NX will be also! Did you manage to get any discount or some sort of sweetener on those dealer additions? I liked the side skirts that were on the demo I drove, but not for £600 I think lol...
  17. I'm thinking September new reg perhaps?!? Lovely... Were those factory ordered or purchased and fitted by the dealer? Red interior looks fantastic. How's it look in person? Interested to see how much it differs from what I have in my RX450h (and the RC300h and IS300h before it!).
  18. I saw a different sales rep when I went for the test drive and so just had a follow up email from the original one, which included an update, and being told mid-July now... Ordered on 10/01 and provisional date was 12/05, was told mid-June after the test drive 11 days ago and now the above...
  19. I think it was different from the old system, but not 100% as haven't used mine in a while and turned the sound off anyway! She sounds a little forceful lol... Ah, Fraggle Rock... Now that takes me back!
  20. Noticed on my test drive that the new NX has the classic Lexus female voice, but there's a different one for the actual road names... Sounded more Google maps like.
  21. Just seen this posted elsewhere on the forum, and as there's already quite a few days this month when the NX isn't being built, it could be April before any of our orders change to build in progress... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-60521983
  22. So what about those of us in the 40-50 bracket, are we indifferent lol 😉
  23. Sorry dude, but the error is on you so I'll post how I like and correct where necessary. You're own precise language was misinterpreted by the OP so it doesn't make a difference anyway. My mate was actually working for the dealership whilst doing stuff in his own time, so best of both worlds I guess. I understand why his rates were lower but the point is that the service was identical and so I literally wasn't paying for the tea and biscuits! 😁 I work in a professional services industry and so also have an hourly charge out rate that can differ depending on the firm name on the door, but does the work etc differ? Possibly, but not necessarily. Most companies have some sort of tie in when it comes to professional training, and when it lapses they're responsible for providing the environment that retains quality staff. The NHS example is different as it's public money being used, and as a tax payer I'd want the tie in to be much longer that what you'd find in the private sector.
  24. I've generally had services at Lexus and MOT at the local Kwik Fit or Halfords local (5 mins away), but that's just as the timing of them has mostly differed and Lexus has always been further away for me. Always seen the MOT as a bit of a box ticking exercise on a Lexus as never had one fail, so doesn't really matter who does it, but if it's going in, may as well get them to do both and save yourself another trip.
