  1. You're welcome! Ps: Where did you get your tints from, they look good also, and what level of tint is that? Also can you give me an idea on costs? Thanks. Tints were already on the car mate.
  2. Sorry mate, don't get me wrong, I really like the alloys, just from the pic it looks like the rears are at about 1-2 inches inside the body of the car - if it looks fine in the flesh, don't worry about it! I don't know much about this stuff, but I'm sure a spacer would be fine as long as you don't use something too large........ Any advice is welcome, whether professional or simply comments. It does look ok in the flesh as you put it but i am not an expert either. I just ordered them then supplied the tyres and fitted them 1 by 1 as i didn't want anyone marking them. I will take a close up picture in the morning and post it. Your opinion and advice is welcome and VERY much appreciated. This goes for anyone else too. THANKS people...
  3. Do you think i could get away with using spacers on the rear? You've got me going now!
  4. No didn't mix tyres as i couldn't really due to the wheels being the same. If wheels were different then i would have opted for 225/40/18 on front and 255/40/18 on rear.
  5. Well spotted. I didn't actually notice that. I always change the wheels on my Lexus. Have previously owned an IS200, IS300, LS430 old and new shape. Changed wheels on all of them. The wheels that were on them were the 17" Lexus ones not the Baransu ones. If they were i may have left them on. Having said that chromes are a different kettle of fish and have had a set before on my IS300. Regarding the rears, pass mate! They don't look inset when your looking at them in person. Ride quality is totally different compared to previously. Have Goodyear eagle F1 225/45/18 on them too. The wheels are actually an IS200 accessory. They are grand prix chrome Lexus wheels. You have to buy centre caps and wheel nuts / locking nuts all seperately. Going to sell the old wheels on Fleabay. Having said that they are new with not even a tar spot let alone a scratch or kerb mark as i took them straight off the car.
  6. Mod it, that's what i say. Be different. I am forever buying bits for mine. Ordered a brand new IS250 SE-L and had extras fitted at birth. I like to see the sky / have a slight breeze so i opted for the electric slide and tilt sunroof. Front and rear tints. Rear spoiler. Adaptive cruise control. (Expensive) Just put 18" Lexus chrome wheels with new tyres, centre caps, wheel nuts etc. Chrome strip on boot. Just ordered colour coded mudguards too. Chandru, has your's got the wood (plastic) interior? Have included a few pics. Ignore next doors Ferrari F50. Couldn't be bothered to move mine off drive.
  7. As Matt has correctly and kindly supplied the topic link, by viewing it you will get your answers. Just to briefly clarify that if you order 2008 update you will receive 4 discs. North, East, West and Central. That's what i received. Prior updates 2007 and before, only 1 disc received.
  8. Forgot that i was meant to post some pics. Sorry if anyone was waiting to see them? (Doubt it though) Here goes anyway. Ordered some more bits for it so will post pics of them when added.
  9. Had an IS200 and 300 about 5 years ago. Got a pic of the 200 with 19" Miglias on. I'll sort a pic for morning. Got a 57 plate IS250 SE-L FULLY loaded now. Just had rear spoiler installed and Lexus 18" chromes put on it. Oh and a chrome strip on boot. I'll post a pic of it in morning too. Always had a Lex, great cars. I've even got adaptive cruise control on this one. I had ALL extras put on it when i ordered it. Even the retro electric slide and tilt. hope you like the pics!? Again i'll sort them in morning. After an LS460 next. Closest thing at the moment though is a 1:18 scale argento ice version of it. Very detailed. Oh and expensive.
  10. You definately need to have a front number plate displayed on your vehicle. 100%
  11. Just to clarify Stav. If you do your bit regarding your plate (spacings, font etc) then whoever makes the plate will HAVE to either supply a BS number or the company name and telephone number. As stated prior, you cannot be fined if there is missing plate information. The emphasis is on the retailer that issued the plates. Of course if your's has missing information and you state where purchased they should contact them and advise them to supply the relevant information. If it becoms a regular occurance then they should have the right to issue plates revoked / suspended and receive a fine.
  12. He did take pictures of the plates, I think as proof if i challenged my Fixed penalty. The car or the plate? it was to be a very severe missrepresnetation for the DVLA to take the plate, in there own words: Vehicles with illegally displayed number plates may FAIL the MoT test. The police can also issue fixed penalty fines for illegally displayed number plates. Offenders are liable to a MAXIMUM FINE of £1,000 and in some cases the mark may be withdrawn. The plate they can take away from you. He said apparently the DVLA are cracking down, But the PD are prob just short on overtime. But he told me once you've been done once, get done again and the DVLA will take the plate. Anyway emailed a couple of companys trying to get a front plate made up with no excess acrylic but the BS number ate the bottom. Stav Different kettle of fish for tints. There is a legal percentage limit for front and rear. With regards to what your local motor factor stated, can i state for the record that it is the responsability of the motor factor to display there wording on front or rear plate. You CANNOT be done for this. It is mainly to backup that they have seen your V5 and driving licence for proof for replication for the plate(s). Again its a 3 part crack down. Don't be confussed with parking tickets issued by officers, NOT TW.
  13. Once you are stopped (classed as an incident) officer will conduct a 10/25 (PNC check) The incident is logged as a reason for stop is requested. Pictures can also be taken but this for a third party and not retained by the force. Doesn't really matter if 1st or 2nd offence relating to same offence code. Brownie points are a thing of the past but to some law is law and sections of PACE have to be adhered too. Seat belts, mobile phones and registration plates are the top 3 reasons for stop / fine at the moment re vehicle related issues.
  14. There is a crack down on number plates in the east and west midlands. Other areas to be covered in due course. Dvla are moaning that people are either buying legitimate plates and paying for the privilidge or buying cheap plates and adjusting them accordingly. As nothing was done, they keep reminding forces so certain ones have acted. I can't say too much on this unfortunately.
  15. Glad you asked this as i too was contemplating buying one. Apparantly this price is an offer. On appearance it looks quite good but as everyone has commented negatively then i am going to steer clear. I am also interested in this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CARBON-FIBE...sspagenameZWDVW Can anyone comment on it? I notice that there are more expensive ones and this one is the cheapest.
  16. I have just took delivery of the 2008 Lexus IS250 sat nav DVD rom update discs. You get 4! You have to remove the old one to get the part numbers then cross reference it and off you go. I always get the update discs so are familiar with ordering etc. Takes 5 days and arrives via Fedex. I sold the original Lexus 2006 / 2007 disc on EBay for a measly £28.00. Someone got a bargain. Easy to remove if you know how / be VERY careful. Lexus did mine for free to get the information of the disc as there is NO other way of obtaining the disc information without physically ejecting it and taking note of part AND version numbers. I then did it myself when the new ones arrived. Must admit on this particular occasion i don't like the fact that you receive 4 discs in a double twin case. All original of course. Just thought i would share the above as it may be of use to someone as i ALWAYS buy updates for my Lexus cars. the 4 discs..does one of them contain all of UK and some of eu (as does the disc in the 05dvd model) and if u want more detail u put one of the other ones? I don't like the fact that you get 4 discs. Its stupid in my opinion. U.K is covered on all of them but on 1 it is in detail. You receive North, East, West and Central. It doesn't tell you which 1 to use you have to either know or trial and error. With respect to the full postcode bit (fjle) i haven't tried it as yet but will have a look for you tomorrow and advise accordingly.
  17. I was wondering why Darrel didn't ring me back. Now i know why. I personally deal with Faye as i have dealt with her on numerous occasions in Nottingham prior to Derby being built. Darrels a good guy too. Derby Lexus dealership is top notch and deserves its high ranking. Its got a good team.

  19. Re the DVD sat nav disc removal NicNac, any Advice / pictures would be VERY much appreciated. Got a 2006 IS250 SE-L. Need the info off it to update it. Have tried removing it but no luck. Got a 57 Plate today and tried with this one, but no joy again. Dealer showed me a tool (nothing like the 2 pins provided in boot) but wouldn't loan / remove it for me. THANKS! Just so i don't get asked the 57 Plate is NOT being messed around with, i just tried removing it as with my 2006 SE-L. I was hoping to see what version it was and buy it as i cannot swap them to see difference as i cannot remove mine. Thanks in advance.......
  20. Just had a spoiler fitted to my IS250 SE-L and Lexus charged me £249 for Superguard as the vehicle has a small circular sticker displayed on the windscreen.
  21. I purchased a set of 2 from EBay. DON'T fit. Were originally for my LS430. Too small (adjustable also) Best off going to the dealer mate.
  22. Is this to replace the existing LED bulbs? Yes mate. Next door has a (swear word follows) BMW 330ci and the ONLY thing i like are the rear LED lights. I must admit they look great. Would love a pair for my Lex. Anyone
  23. There's always one that insists on taking the *****! Typical gourde!
