I know that the 3SGTE engine is different from the 1G engine. I have a ST205 with just over 500 stallions :P
So anybody using the std injectors with increased fuel line/rail pressure??
-
But you got the GE head.
Are the injectors the same for both - GE & FE??
-
Soooo many boosted cars and nobody with ideas.
The std injectors and fuel system is good for 220/230 hp at Toyota's lower fuel pressure.
So fit a uprated high capacity/high flow fuel pump with return line and a fuel pressure regulator with pressure bumped up to 45psi (std fuel pressure on Toyota's is 33psi).
Now thw std injectors should easily be capable of fueling for 300 hp.
-
A performance clutch will fit a std flywheel, so it stands to reason that a std clutch should fit a performance flywheel :)
-
As the topic says, what have those of you who ahve gone big power done for fuel requirements??
Fuel pump - use std and disable std relief valve in tank OR fit upraeted unit and use of adjustable fuel pressure regulator??
If adjustable fuel pressure regulator is used, a return fuel line has to be fitted.
Injectors - what cc and where from at real world prices??
Don't think that this has been covered at all.
-
Same block, so should fit. Think they ran about the same amount of boost - 0.6bar.
-
The only pistons and rods you can use from another engine is the ones from tht 1G-GTE. Other than that, I can only think of the piston/rod set sold by Flakspeed on eBay -

I used Aerosol from B&Q - Plastikote Bright Red. 18 months on, all they need is washing when the car is washed and they look like new. Got the obligatory 'Lexus' stickers on and are also laquered with Plastikote Clear.
Done the same thing on my ST205 too :winky:
-
Got them from Dave - w481qqc is his user name.
-
Think the car security is incoperated into it too, so you will prob need to have your keys recoded.
-
No pic there................

That is the exact one I have on my wife's IS and its good. Needs a bit getting used to, but no problema at all. All gears engage perfectly all the time inclding reverse. Just use a lot of grease during assembly.
-
The Blitz is only a rear box where as the system on eBay is the complete system. Think its well worth it.
-
Its the ones from fleabay. The wires come through 1 of the posts. They do look good. Once the wires are through the seat back, the rest is easy.
-
Already got a set of forged rods.
Just would like stronger pistons as well for long term reliability.
Std pistons look as though they may be weak just under the wristpin.
-
Anybody know who sells forged pistons or where they can be got from for the 1GFE to go on the std con rods??
OR
If anybody knows the part# for the std pistons on the 1GGTE as they are stronger than the 1GFE items.

Has anybody installed the headrest with the built-in monitor?
Was just wnating to know how you may have routed the power and video/audio cables through the seat back??
-
Will require welding as the old pipe will be used and also will require hangers welded on.
Best to be taken to a local custom exhaust place.
-
That is true
-
SPC manifolds also cost a lot - more than I would pay for. That is the kind of money that you would pay for a brand name manifold from Japan for most of other type engine manifolds.
-
Anybody made their own??
I got an extra std manifold and will use the flanges to make a turbo manifold. Will probably make a log type manifold as I'm not after huge amounts of power - more or less 250 brake at the fly. Will also be using a Nissan S14 Gt28 turbo as they are readily available and not too expensive.
-
Next job to do is to make my own turbo manifold using the flanges of thw std manifold.

Thanks for that M8. Always worked on 3S engines and the tensioner is sooo different on the 1G. Anyway, all sorted now and the car runs as sweet as a nut - no, sweeter than a nut B)
Cambelt, tensioner and pulley changed.)
Power steering, alternator & A/C belts changed.
Oil & oil filter changed.
Induction filter is a performance one, washed, dried and refitted.
New plugs fitted.
Pollen filter changed.
-
Was changing the cambelt today and got distracted while fitting the tensioner. Basicly, I moved the tensioner before i put the belt on.
Can the tensioner be compressed back so the belt can be fitted and how is it done??? It's a new tensioner.

Its ok then to stay with std fuel system and just go bigger on injectors?? and get a standalone ECU to sort it all out sparkystav?? A lot less work - perfect then. Where did you get your injectors from sparkystav?? Heard PowerEnterprise do a set that fits the 1G fuel rail - got any part numbers :D please. Any idea of cost??
