  1. thats Leeds for ye

glad i dont have that problem of traffic, im going home to nice warm bed(thanx Fiona) whilst you lot are struggling to get to work :)

but brett, why do you have a mk2 sport when you stick to the limits?.

    :):)

come on you gotta feed some speed into your ride some time?

    Steve

    *fellow Leeds lad*

:winky: Spot on, My mates Monaro VXR, whent down from 23/24 MPG too 17, he changed those sensors and bingo back up to 27MPG on a run, so an improvement.

  2. New GS450h specs, just hit the stealers, got my phone call tonight, quick rundown, 0-60 5.9SECS, average MPG 34.9: se spec aprox 44K, se-l 47.5K, one new colour added (Blue), 18inch 5 spoke wheels standard, updated SAT-NAV.

Due 19th april, thats all I can remember. :) :shifty:

    PS) 320 BHP

just found out the boot space has been REDUCED to 280 from 450 due too batteries!!!!, that killed it off for me can't get cases in there.

  3. Come back from the match the other day, and some little ****** had took a key right down the drivers side of my car. The scratch is right down to the metal in most places, so no chance of polishing it out.

Glad I never caught them doing it, or I'd have been up on a murder charge now !

Anyway, has anybody tried any of these 'magic' scratch repairers, or colour magic waxes, or any other suggestions gratefully received.

Sorry you encountered one of lifes ars*****s but they exist.

I know a good "lexus man" bodyshop near norwich airport who will do a great job on your car, it will be as good as new, details on request. :)

  4. Over the Xmas break the battery on the RX400h drained completely. The RAC man was guided by Lexus over the phone and the car returned to good health.

Only thing - before this, the average mpg was 28/29. Now it is 25.

Is this a coincidence. Or could there be deterioration of the batteries.

I left my car at the airport over the Xmas, If I had an RX400h and done that , and came back to a flat Battery I would be :tsktsk: angree to say the least. :o

  5. 15-20MPH

Ouch. Well, it used to be down to the discretion of the person in the van (when they had those speed guns). Sometimes even if you brake at the last minute it shows that you know the speed limit and admit to being over, so they waiver it.

Although, I would THINK that on that speed over the limit you will be receiving a letter in the post in the next two weeks - but hopefully I am wrong. :whistling:

Was he parked in one of those "you don't see them until the last moment" places that they normally park in ? That drives me nuts.

I take it is was definitely a speed camera van and not a tax disc van ?

It was a yellow and Black zebra strip van (speed camera I think) but my road angel 2 with laser detection did NADA!!!! and yes they were on a corner. :tsktsk:

  6. I have mentioned to Lexus Sheffield that I am getting transmission clunks now and that I believe that this is wear in the transmission caused by the harsh gearchange caused by this gearbox programming. Unfortunately due to staff holidays they can't look at the car next week so I will have to try and get the car booked in after the New Year. Not good after only 15,000 miles.

    Glynn

My Rx is now suffering with the same type clunks. It sounds like the drive shaft under the car, but I believe this is too caused by the 'kick-down' effect from the afformentioned problems. My car has only just covered 14,000 miles, and as far as I'm concerned, any type of clunking noise after such low mileage in unacceptable. Mine is going to be booked in at the dealers early Jan 'cos I want the problem sorted. Am not prepared to listen to any type of clunking from such a new vehicle. I had an Audi 20v Quattro which was 5 years old when I bought it. I kept it for a further 5 years and put 125,000 miles on it and NEVER had any transmission or drive shaft clunks ever!

    Happy New Year All

    Regards

    RxMike

    :driving: Good cars AUDIs :winky:

  7. Lexusjohn,

One more thing - thinking about your point regarding silver colour matching. All of the Lexus I have owned (1 x mk1 GS300, 2 x new mk2 GS300 and this mk3 GS430) have been silver-ish (Lucerne, Platinum Ice and now Palladio). I recall I did have a new plastic rear bumper on the first mk2 (lucerne) and they matched that perfectly.

Any other views, any body shop people out there?

    Best regards,

    Marcus.

Marcus, where do you live, I ask this because this guy that paints "for lexus Norwich" is very good, if you like you may ask ipswich to use him, I can suppy address and phone no: That way you know the job will be done properly, however the wheels need a professional wheel specialist. http://www.pristinealloywheels.co.uk are the best by far.

    Hope this helps :winky:

  8. "but I am realibly informed that after respray metallic silver never looks exactly the same, which is why dealers try to only touch-in if possible".

This statement is total B****ks, I have had TWO yes TWO brand new LEXUSES with paint issues, First new RX300SE front wing and two doors with paint defects all had to be resprayed, I spoke to the guy who was to do it before the work was done and he said "you wont know i've been on it. I looked very very hard after and you could NOT tell, so when my NEW GS300SE got some blemishes on it, I took it back to the same guy and he again faultlessly repainted it. Thats what I would expect from lexus, a first class job, NOTHING less. :shutit:

PS0 both were metalic silver. :shifty:
