Looks very nice mate, same colour as mine I think B)
Thank's mate, sure does look the same colour :winky:

Hi all, haven't posted for a while
Thought I'd share a pic of my Mk2 GS that I chopped my Mk1 in for last September. I love the colour of this car - in different light, it changes from blue to violet to black :winky:
This is the first picture I took of her at a camp site in Woolacombe Bay... the ground was quite soggy as you can see from the tyres!
-
Traction control isn't much help in snow because there is so little traction that effectively it stops the car moving at all - by preventing wheelspin completely, you end up getting nowhere at all.
Ah, I see. Should the traction control work in reverse, as I atempted to reverse on some really soggy grass on a holiday site this year, but it just kept spinning up?
-
So how does turning traction control OFF help then? My Mk1 didn't have it, but my Mk2 does and I have yet to experience it in the snow
-
Well it looks good sounds good and seems to have more power, very pleased
Any chance of putting a vid/sound clip up on here?
-
As title please, these are the round, silver disc type with chrome Lexus logo :winky:
-
The black mesh type please :winky:

Has anyone got a mesh sport grill for a Mk2 GS300 they want to sell me?
-
I think the part number for a 2000 (mk2) car is 88320‑3A180 and a 1996 (mk1) is 88320‑30651, so the numbers would appear to be different for those years anyway. No idea if it is something to worry about though.
Thank's mate :winky: ... can't beleive how quiet it is on here now!!!

i bought a 98 lexus 300 gs ,how do activate the alarm
Do you mean set it, or get it to sound off?
-
OK... does anyone have a part number for either?
-
Remove the back of the remote and remove the Battery (if it's not fixed in the back casing). Sit in the car and hold the lock & unlock buttons at the same time for about 30 seconds - WITHOUT THE Battery FITTED.
Replace the Battery & casing, then press the lock, then unlock bottons seperately. This should have re-programmed it for you. :winky:
-
As the title. My MK2 went back to the car dealer as the air con was kaput... he has put a used compressor from a mk1 on it, which works, but should I be concerned?
-
Cheers chaps, I'll try and have a look over the weekend :winky:

The drivers door won't lock/unlock with the key remote, but the others do. If I sit in the car and manually push the drivers lock switch, the central locking still doesn't work... but if I lock with the key in the drivers door, all doors lock
Is this a case of the dreaded actuator motor failure?

Problem solved!
Just finished stripping out the head unit etc and found the cause to the sub not working :D
The previous owner had fitted a Nokia hand's free unit, and after a bit of searching, found that the Nokia harness that takes the speaker output from the amp to the phone cut off unit had the 2 sub wires missing:uh: So just a matter of adding 2 new wires to the offending length of loom and VOILA!!!!!!!
-
My Mk2 keyless remote will not lock or unlock the drivers door but will all the others... does mine need reprogramming???
-
erm.... did you just ask yourself for more info on your own problem?
Nope... just an additional question and a free bump! :winky:
Surely someone know's, this forum used to be a wealth of information?!?!?!?!?!

Got my Mk2 GS yesterday and was immedietly disapointed with the sound system ... turns out the sub isn't working!!!
It seems like the speaker is alright, as when I gently push up the cone from the boot, there is no rough/scratchy feeling, and there is zero sound coming from it.
Could someone please tell me where the amp for the sub is located so I can check for loose wire's etc, or can someone maybe tell me what the problem is? :)
Is it all plugged in at the head unit?
