  1. OK mate... hopefully someone comes along with a solution :winky:
  2. I would say it's your front brake pads... there's a thin metal tab on them that contacts the disc when they are worn telling you they need to be changed. My MK1 is doing exactly the same and I KNOW the pads need replacing - together with the discs too :winky:
  3. I shall deffo make a donation at JAE :winky:
  4. Congratulations and best wishes to you both :winky:
  5. What's the difference between the SE & Sports grill then?
  6. The blinking light on the switch is telling you that the compressor is not working :winky:
  7. "So what's the idea of the mini-bike in the backpack...???"
  8. I've never flown in an aeroplane ... well, a microlight twice
  9. Mmmm, better start planning a route
  10. All the best chaps :winky:
  11. Yep... only if the hole is caused by rust alone :winky:
  12. I would go for it if you really like the car... when I first went for a test drive in mine, the battery died after several attempts to start it as it had been standing for quite some time. I insisted on a new more powerful battery before I bought it and it's been fine since - starts first time, evey time :winky: You should get at least 3 months warranty from him anyway...
  13. GIMME, GIMME, GIMME :P :P :P
  14. that seems a good price to me to - £80 inc VAT and delivery. ← Just what I thought Matt... hopefully Dave will come along soon to verify :winky: @ Colin - I had both front wheels off to check for pad noise before my holiday and tightened them back up to the specified torque... the discs were quite worn already, so more susceptible to heat? As for not being OEM, again I'm sure Dave will put us right
  15. Mc.Ewans Champion every Saturday night in front of the box... preferably with a take-away and decent DVD :winky:
  16. Assuming it still went ahead... ...
  17. Just got back from my holiday to Devon, but unfortunatly have cooked my front brakes... worn pads and warped disc(s). I have looked at the Mintex gear which Prolex are offering, and they state that these are the OEM parts for Lexus. My budget is very, very tight, which makes these more appealing - but my question is, these discs will more than likely warp again (being the same make that is already fitted to the car), so would an aftermarket part be a better bet for a probable extra cost, or is the Mintex the one to go for 'cos that's what Lexus use? Finally, does the price of the discs shown on the Prolex site mean per disc, or for the pair?
  18. Hi guys... sorry I couldn't make it to this meet Managed to cook my front brakes on the way to Brixham where I was staying - pads are about shot, and one or more of the discs are warped, giving some spectacular steering wheel judder when they have warmed up Had to take it really steady all week with all those 12% hills, as the local garages I visited had no Lexus parts in stock, plus the holiday pot wouldn't have streched to a dealer visit ... then it took us around 7 hours to get back home (250 miles). I did manage to get a head to head with a Hyundai Coupe on a dual carriage way - no sweat :winky: , until it came to braking for a roundabout... Hope you had a good time, and glad the weather was "perfik" :winky:
