  1. Hi Suedenim What Chris has said is correct. As you have bought a plug in battery monitor, plug it in. To get a true reading of the state of charge in the battery, check the reading in 'ACC' mode before putting the car into 'READY' If you check the ACC reading after the car's been driven or put into READY, you will get a false reading, the battery needs to have rested, for at least half an hour, some might say longer. I'm slowly learning not to worry, it's a great car, enjoy it.
  2. Dahlias I did wonder about those photos, nice job. That's something I've yet to do.
  3. Kevinc23 Having the battery monitor in the accessory socket is a waste of time, because that socket doesn't become live until the car is in 'Ready' so the only voltage you will read is the charging voltage (14.3v) from the traction battery. To check the state of charge of the 12v battery, you need to have a direct connection to the 12v battery, either directly on the battery (under the rear seat) or from the jump start point in the fuse box under the bonnet. Getting to the 12v battery is not difficult, it's only one cover. If you're not too confident doing it yourself, I'd find a local auto electrician, it'll be much cheaper than a main dealer.
  4. Is that with or without two fingers extended?
  5. This could be fun, has anyone found any tech on the LBX to be totally useless. I'll start by saying voice controlled windscreen wipers. You say "Hey Lexus" Lexus replys "What can I do for you?", then you say "turn windscreen wipers on" Lexus replies "turning windshield wipers on" the wipers wipe once! It takes about 11 seconds OR you move a finger about an inch & operate the wipers stalk. It takes nanoseconds.
  6. Thanks Heuer, I've found Waze, TomTom AmiGo & TomTom Go Navigation (subscription). I'll try them all to see the one I like the best. I find the large, clear lane information on the approach to junctions very useful on the old TomTom stuck to the windscreen.
  7. Thanks Tel, That could be worth a try, I do have an Android Phone I'll look into it, I'm not too tech savy, but there seems to be plenty of help about.
  8. Once the push pins are removed from the battery cover (by pushing the center of the pins in until they click) the battery cover can be prised off (there are two clips at the other end) just pull it off. The positive battery terminal connections are under a red plastic cover held with two clips, a bit fiddly, but it does come off. Be careful as this exposes a live terminal. There is some spare thread on a bolt, so if you can find a nut to fit, it's the ideal fixing point. For the negative there is a bolt in the floor. I have put a Bluetooth monitor here & the connector that comes with my Ctec charger. You will see there is a small box with cover in the battery cover, there is no back to this & the Ctec plug fits in there nicely, then replace the battery cover, locating the fixed clips first, then push the center pins in the push pins out, until they click & put push pins into the cover, lastly pushing the center pins back in. The Ctec plug can be accessed by removing the small, square cover in the battery cover for easy charging of the 12v battery. I hope this is not too long winded & helps someone, just be careful not to short out the positive terminal.
  9. Hi Winstanley, So it's not just me, we'll live with it. It's a shame a great car is being spoilt by a lot of unnecessary technical rubbish, where oh where is the delete button?
  10. Hi Herbie, I'm not sure what Android Auto does, I thought it was something to do with playing music from your phone (not interested), is it a sat nav? I don't touch anything Apple, over rated & over priced in my opinion.
  11. I have the same problem as you, Winstanley. Both keys seem to be registered to me, when I try to change one for my wife, they both have my wife's name. As for registered users, the car only ever shows one, I get the impression that my wife will have to download the Lexus app & register an account, before we can have separate profiles. She has no interest in doing that, she just wants to drive the car, with no faffing about. I would dearly love to have TomTom on the big screen, a far better satnav, in my opinion. Is there a 12 year old in a bedroom somewhere that can sort that out?
  12. Lbeex Thank you for that, I have now found the smart entry & start switch & all is well with the world, well almost.
  13. If anyone's interested, I did get the Ctec battery monitor, connected it directly to the 12v battery & placed it in the little box set into the battery cover under the rear seat, it fitted very well. To check the battery voltage, just pop the small cover off & check the led's, this also gives a convenient plug to charge the battery from a Ctek smart charger. However, it seems the 12v battery is hardly ever fully charged & the monitor is usually showing red, so no real help. I have had the LBX for 2 months now, being retired, we don't use the car a lot & had no problem from the 12v battery & I've stopped worrying about it. I have, however bought a small battery booster, just in case.
  14. Thanks for that Colin, but as I said in an earlier post, I have the 'Urban' so it doesn't have smart entry. I am more than happy pressing a button on the key fob to unlock/lock the car.
