My 250h - First Impressions
Pauly C replied to Pauly C's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Thanks all for your thoughts. Still not heard from the dealer....yet. Don't think I'm about to reject the car, but I think I will ask for a 'health' check, to confirm/deny everything is as it should be. If said health check reveals anything untoward I will report back here😉 -

True. Tried her in sports mode, just the once so far, the other day. She fairly shifted and was pleasantly surprised to say the least👍 -

Yes, fully aware of all that Charles. I know she's not a sports car, and I don't treat her as such😉 I don't push her too hard, as that defeats the object. I just want waftability and good mpg. Haven't reset the overall mpg odometer yet, but already have it at 50.2, up 0.6 in 5 days😉 -

Dealer has acknowledged my message, with the sales manager getting back to me next week. I get what you say about the mirror - it's not the glass that's broken but the outer/lower casing - just smashed a bit, like something thin and hard has been jabbed into it. Only had it 5 days and not parked it up anywhere or hit anything that would lead to that kind of damage....if you don't ask you don't get, but not too enamoured with the possibility of paying out circa £500 to get it sorted☹️ -

No, seat definitely not loose Charles. From more research I've done, this problem appears not totally uncommon with the UX. My one has only done 20K miles. Due out in her again tomorrow so will check out the lane assist. The judder, as I say, is weird and I feel it through the seat and therefore upper legs/thighs. Don't get it all the time - I wonder if it's something to do with the CVT and the revs catching up with where the pedal is? -
Well, it’s been less than a week since I picked her up. First impressions - well built, smooth (not all of the time….more on that in a mo) and a very comfy place to be👍 I mentioned to the salesman on the test drive that I thought I felt juddering but dismissed it as it may have been the road. Had a longish drive in it today, and definitely feel juddering - from side to side I think….not all the time but on acceleration just into the ‘power’ band, and going up slight hills. I feel this through the seat, not the steering wheel. Any thoughts? Also noticed earlier a broken door mirror on drivers side….towards the underneath where its black, not blue, Have not been in a position during the past few days where it could have got broken in such a way. Have brought both issues up with the dealer, so will be interesting what they say🤔
-
Cheers Ronnie. A Faraday box and pouches I already have😉 I’ll go to a good steering wheel lock/cover but I think that will all be the farthest I’ll go to. CCTV not really an option and, in my opinion, not the greatest vehicle theft deterrent. Like most of us on here, I await the Lexus/Toyota recall to fix the CAN bus injection threat…..if it ever comes for a UX🤔🤔
-
Yep, good to know Adrian..thanks🙂
-
She's very cool I must say..and goes surprisingly well on the motorway. I think we'll get on very well😍

Have already posted in the UX 250h branch of the forum, but didn't pick up this beauty until today. Got home with her a couple of hours ago. My first Lexus - having gone from a 15 year old BMW 325i Touring (a lovely car I was sad to see the back of). Very cool, in very in-yer-face Blue....am so looking forward to wafting around in her😉

Lexus is300h vibrations when at 40 and 70 mph
Pauly C replied to maxj0's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Interesting....although I'm not going to suggest any kind of a 'fix' 'cos I just picked my 250h up today from the 'local' Lexus dealer. What I was going to say is, whilst I'm not sure how pronounced your vibration is, I thought I detected something similar on mine, just below 70, on the test drive. It seemed to kick in whilst I was gently accelerating. The drive home was pretty perfect and it's probably me, and mine being an F Sport - it may well have been the lumpy road I was feeling through the slightly firmer set up. I will shut up now and let the experts on this forum chime in with some proper sage advice😄 -
🤣🤣🤣thanks Ron. I’m in the middle of just clarifying the repair side of things with my local Toyota dealer. The local independent I go to with my 325i - whom I trust - say they can also repair Lexus. If local repairs prove NOT to be an issue, then I will be collecting the UX on Monday🙂 I’ll treat y’all to a couple of pics too🤣🤣
-
Yep, you are right Ron….I came to that conclusion earlier. If I want a Lexus and the extended warranty I need to be prepared to make the yearly 4 hr round trip to make it so….just clarified by my local Toyota dealer’s service department….who cannot help me out. I believe it is a slightly different story with repairs, as long as said repairs do not directly link to a subsequent warranty claim….just annoyed that the Lexus salesman told me different😡They’ll no doubt tell me it would all be fine their end….and that the issue is with Toyota🙄
-
I don’t want to make a mountain out of a molehill on all this Brian….honestly…all I want is to be fully informed so I am fully aware of what I’m up against before I collect my car😉
-
Guys….I will follow this up accordingly, and will report back. I feel the salesman’s response has some weight behind it, and gives me some leverage if things turn sour - for whatever reason - further down the road. Not the stress-free start to my Lexus ownership I was hoping for🙄
-
This is what I've just had from the Lexus dealer supplying my new car, and from whom I will be collecting it on Monday...interesting but I somehow feel the potential 'fly in the ointment' is going to be my local Toyota dealer🤔 Hi Paul, I can confirm that as long as the vehicle is serviced by Lexus or a Toyota dealer using original parts and having the hybrid health check you will still be covered by the Lexus warranty. Kind regards
-
Thanks Phil...it's not come directly from Lexus HQ so to speak, but if I encounter any further problems - specifically with my local Toyota garage - and any others, I will take it up directly with Lexus HQ. The Sales Executive at the dealer I'm picking it up from is being quite clear and confident in giving me this advice...so that is reassuring.
-
I have just been onto Lexus CS at Exeter, and they will give me confirmation - in writing - that I can have my UX serviced at my local Toyota garage that will NOT invalidate the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty and will keep it going up until that point...looks like I have a result. I will share the wording/details of said written confirmation when I actually get it.
-
Update: It seems that Lexus are telling me that I need to go to a 'Lexus-approved' repairer to get my servicing done that will continue to validate a further 12 month warranty to the 10 year-100,000 mile mark. Googling a Lexus-approved repairer only seems to include Lexus service centres...indicating that clarification is proving complex and troublesome. When I asked for this in writing, all I've been sent so far is a link to what appears to be a Lexus statement on Warranty conditions, which states the above.
-
The Lexus Sales Executive told me I would get the continued 12 month extension on the warranty if I went to Toyota. As I say, I'll be getting that in writing if I can🤔
-
Okay, I know this has been discussed numerous times before, but I thought it would be worth a quick update on what I've been told (verbally) what I can do after I collect my UX on Monday. When I asked the Lexus dealer if I could have all my Lexus servicing done at my local Toyota garage (10 mins away as opposed to a 4 hour round trip away to my nearest Lexus dealer) and would it invalidate any warranty, he told me that was perfectly alright and the Lexus (relaxed?) warranty would not be affected in any way. I've asked if they can point me in the direction of where that is spelt out and laid down. I briefly mentioned this to my local Toyota dealer and whilst they told me they could service a Lexus, they mentioned it would likely take longer as they'd need to order Lexus parts in....and that it would likely invalidate a Lexus warranty. I can see that whilst Lexus are telling me it's OK....it could be a different ball-game convincing my local Toyota dealer that, in all respects, it should be OK. Would be interested to hear your thoughts🤔

That’s encouraging Geoff👍 Mine is an Electric blue F Sport, so ride is firmer than the Toyota. It’ll take me a month to study the handbook to figure out how it all works🤣 It did look cool when we turned up yesterday at the Lexus dealer to take it for a spin👍l did a triple take though at the speedo as the sales bod showed me a couple of things….with it then sliding from side to side😮
-
Yes, my first one Alistair😉 It satisfies a small number of things for me: the teensy tiny little bit of badge snobbery that still resides within me🤣🤣 and a desire to waft around in comfort whilst getting 50+ mpg the whole time….if I’m careful😉 a win win for me

Hello all, Well, finally took the plunge and will be swapping my trusty 15 year old 325i Touring for a UX, which I pick up a week Monday. Tested a CHR a couple of weeks before, wasn’t overly impressed with the interior which was a tad tatty in places and a bit plasticky. The UX is definitely in a different league. Can’t say I’ll be a constant poster on here, but looking forward to my ownership and gaining some sage advice from this community. Cheers🙂
