  1. ...and..?? Have you bothered, as has been suggested by other forum members here, to look into the reasons why? Try looking at the tyres...and I'd be surprised if the garage you bought it from accepted your rejection🙄
  2. Welcome. I hope your whole dealership experience proves to be better than mine🤔
  3. This doesn't appear to extend to my 2020 UX...the UK Gov website says my car is currently free from any recalls🤔 Is that right?
  4. A lame attempt at a joke Charles😉 I think your MPG should somehow be better😉
  5. Is your school run uphill both ways?😉
  6. To date,I’ve spent most of my miles pottering around minor A and B roads which have pushed up my average. You don’t go anywhere that fast in my county so the UX is perfect. I wouldn’t call it a motorway cruiser, ride’s a bit fidgety I think, but cruising at 70mph I’d still get over 50mpg. It took about 10 days, after the reset, for it to settle down and - as I say - is now just over 57 mpg. I don’t think you buy a UX for it’s driving dynamics….you buy it for the economy, dependability, comfort and the looks. It will also, of course, keep that little bit of badge snobbery that still resides within some of us more than happy😉
  7. Good job I kept the video of my car the dealer sent me before I took it for a test drive😉 It clearly shows the wing mirror was busted before I bought it…..that’ll save me over £520😉😉
  8. Two things spring to mind....isn't old Errol dead? ...and did he really fail to defeat the Injuns at Little Big Horn?😄
  9. OK, who's got the highest recorded MPG on their UX over the longest period of time? The longer the period, the higher the MPG wins. I only reset mine about 10 days ago (currently reading 57 mpg) so I won't worry about throwing my hat into the ring just yet....😉😄Maybe we can have an annual award ceremony?😉
  10. I’m still mulling over whether to keep the annual service (and therefore the 10 yr/100,000 warranty) going. I have a local independent garage I know and trust, that say they can service my UX. However, I’ll make the journey for the next service with Mrs C to my nearest Lexus centre (2 hours one way) and make a day of it with the courtesy car and see how it goes. I have a Toyota dealer 10 mins from me, but they appear to not be wanting to service the UX….however, their tune may change if I told them such servicing has nothing to do with keeping the 10 yr/100,000 warranty valid.
  11. I will see how it goes with the dealer for now…but yes, I haven’t discounted taking it upwards, if I feel I need to🙂
  12. Well, that's good to hear Len. My complaint has gone off to the dealer general manager earlier today. My experience with them yesterday was pretty shocking. Well over 5 hours driving in my car and had to return home in it, as they weren't expecting me (further details above in an earlier post). Now it looks like I will have to put another 200 miles on my car to deliver it and then pick it up once they've finished with it. I'll take the tank of fuel they've offered, and I'll take a new wing mirror and the fixing of any faults found...and I will leave it to the general manager to work out what price he might put on my time - taken, and yet to come - and the total inconvenience of all this. The total lack of communication between them all at their end beggars belief. 'Nuff said, but I will come back to report how this all plays out for sure😡
  13. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at that one😄 After a round trip of over 5 hours yesterday, to drop the car off at the main dealer to get looked at, and which all proved to be a total waste of time (long story) the dealer general manager will be coming into work on Tuesday morning to a detailed complaint from yours truly. I like the car, it needs to be checked over, but my experiences so far with this particular main Lexus dealer is bordering on shocking😡
  14. Very interesting read there Linus. Long story short - I was taking my new (secondhand) Lexus to my 'local' dealer today - a 5+ hour round trip as it turned out - to get a couple of hopefully minor issues sorted out. I got there, they weren't expecting me, no courtesy car available for the 3+ hour drive home. All of what I was expecting was evidenced in an E Mail to me from the Sales Manager, telling me what they were going to do, and when, and that I would get a courtesy car to get home, whilst I left my car with them to get fixed. The worst part of it? 2 other Lexus sales/admin staff were cc'd on the E Mail the sales manager sent me....and one of them was at the dealership when I arrived...although this person acknowledged me and said hello, they didn't come over and explain the situation...just left it to a junior salesman that I felt sorry for. I could've kicked off in the showroom, but that's not me. I've compiled a complaint for the dealer principal that he'll get tomorrow. They've promised me the cost of a tank of fuel but, at the very least, I'd want that and my car's issues fixed at no cost to me whatsoever (including a new driver door mirror...which is another story). My wife walked out whilst we were there...she was more annoyed than I was. Certainly not what I expect of a Lexus main dealer....so the dealer principal will get both barrels for sure😡
  15. What are forum members' thoughts on having a forum dedicated to Lexus owners experiences with main dealers? I'm sure plenty of us have had experiences with main dealers - good and bad - that perhaps they'd like to post for all to see. Thoughts?
  16. Cheers Stephen - I will try the long firm brake depressions as has been suggested. Yes, when I say "EV Mode" I mean it slipping into silent running with the little green EV Mode light on. I haven't engaged the EV Mode button yet...I have it in 'normal' driving mode at the moment and, most of the time, it puts itself into EV Mode (little green light) as I'm reversing out of the driveway and off down the road....all under 15 mph. It will take some getting used to...having come straight from a BMW 325i Touring with a straight six naturally aspirated petrol engine....but smugness now comes in the shape in getting 55mpg+ the whole time, rather than leaving a boy racer behind in your rear view mirror,😉
  17. Not entirely sure what you're saying there Stephen - I'm completely new to this self-charging hybrid thing. I don't hear the noise whilst braking, I think that's for sure. As I said to the dealer today - when I rang to ask when I was going to get a reply to my previous - things are getting a tad embarrassing as I cruise through the locality in EV mode and the rubbing/scraping noise is loud enough for all to hear. He told me I can't have that😉 As I say, I love the car, the way it goes, and getting - at the moment - around 57mpg on average. Once it's fixed - I'll be the happiest Lexus owner in the world😍
  18. What I do like is when it sounds a little like a jet engine - when it kind of whistles - whilst, I've noted, the EV light is off. Other than that, I crept up behind an old couple out walking along a local track....it was in EV mode, and I heard the lady comment, as I approached..."I can't hear the engine"....I came so so close to winding the window down and calling out "......these things run on thin air...didn't you know?"😄
  19. I’ve said I think it’s one of 3 things. The rotational noise isn’t getting better, if anything louder and worse…especially, as I say, when I’m cornering or going round roundabouts. Some might say classic signs of bearing failure. I’m all for getting it up on a ramp - which the dealer will do - getting it diagnosed, and fixed. The broken mirror, for your information, I noticed 5 days after collecting the car….and I’d not been anywhere for that to happen or hit anything in that time….leading me to question it with the dealer as it may have been missed by all (yes, including me🙄) You don’t ask, you don’t get. It appears you’re the one getting indignant - although I’m not quite sure why - with my relaying the facts regarding my experiences not only with the car but, perhaps more so, with the dealer. Once it’s fixed I’ll be more than happy😉
  20. As reported a few days ago, I had issues with some juddering on way back from collecting the UX from the Lexus dealer and reported this to them on 10th August, along with a shot of a broken wing mirror, that I was at a total loss to explain after just 5 days of ownership. Scroll on 9 days - during which all I had were two holding replies - and there’s me ringing them asking what’s going on….along with having to report a rotational scraping noise from underneath the car, that rises and falls commensurate with the car’s speed. Research suggests this issue could be failing wheel bearings (really….at 20k miles??), ball joint related, or brake/caliper related. It’s definitely got louder over time, especially turning round corners or going round roundabouts. Dropping car off next week, and getting a courtesy car as they could have mine for a few days. Not wholly impressed so far with the overall experience, but when I get it back, all done and dusted, I feel only then can I truly start to enjoy the UX 250h ownership experience…small boot and all😉🤣🤣🤣🤣
  21. 😄Haha....thanks Lee. Never saw it, and can't remember the last time I replaced one of these batteries in a key fob. It now works fine. Thank you all who replied. Every day is a school day🤔😉
  22. Battery in fob is fine, not a sausage from the car, despite stood next to it with unlock held for well over 30 secs. Any other ideas?
  23. I'll try that Colin - thanks. Battery is good and I'm sure it's working, but will double check it's seated correctly also😉
  24. Another query guys if I may - replaced the battery in the key fob to my UX 250h, and now the key doesn’t work. Googling it doesn’t appear to bring up much in the way of a solution. Any ideas? Do I need to somehow reprogram the thing?
  25. Thanks all for your thoughts. Still not heard from the dealer....yet. Don't think I'm about to reject the car, but I think I will ask for a 'health' check, to confirm/deny everything is as it should be. If said health check reveals anything untoward I will report back here😉
