  1. I had one as a courtesy car for a short while, so know exactly where you’re coming from. For me, it was the rather odd and potentially dangerous reactions I was getting through the steering wheel, whilst the lane tracking thingy was on….downright odd, unnerving at times and…as I say….potentially dangerous for some drivers if it catches them unawares🤔
  2. I have to ask - how long is holding onto such a car 'long term'? If it's already done 215,000 miles then your definition of 'long term' is different to mine, my friend😉 Any car, no matter what make it is, will be staring big big bills in the face at 215K miles plus😉
  3. As long as there is a sonic process involved when it comes to any resprays, I'll be happy😆
  4. Thought as much🙄 in that case it’ll be a Lexus-approved bodyshop every time😉
  5. If I ever have a need for a respray at any time, I hope it can all be matched up🤔😉 Mind you, my local Toyota dealer is an approved Lexus bodyshop😉
  6. That’s the other question I have….not often you find a (decent) UX turn up as a result of an auction…so how come? Step away my friend🤔😉
  7. Mine was a little over £20K….lord knows what the their bill would’ve been if I’d had to pay for all the work done to my car myself….at least something approaching £2K + I reckon🤔🙄 so it was worth me buying from a main dealer😉
  8. It’s your call my friend. I’d suggest buying from a dealer….Lexus if possible….for some kind of total piece of mind. In my case, I’m kind of glad I did😉
  9. If it doesn’t smell right, you walk away….
  10. I currently got a year old F Sport Design 250h courtesy…. Impressed with the performance, and the ‘kickdown’ …….I find the ride fidgety, same as mine and on an LBX I had for a week…but that’s fine, I can get used to it. My car has never gone anything like the courtesy car, so am really hoping all that changes when I get it back….they tell me both driveshafts are being replaced to be on the safe side….As you say, I too don’t see hardly any of these on the roads where I am, so it can stand out a bit😉
  11. How do you find your new car Robert in terms of comfort/ride/economy etc.? I too traded my BMW in for my UX...which is currently at the dealers getting a couple of new front driveshafts fitted, before it's returned and I can then truly get on with the UX 250h ownership experience😉Incidentally, mine's also a 2020 UX 250h F-Sport at 20K miles in a kind of electric metallic blue, with purple tinges...depending on the angle you look at it🤔 haven't a clue what the colour is called...
  12. You do that. The LC will always be a far cooler and better looking car than yours.... and that's a fact🤔🙄
  13. Pics please😉
  14. How on earth did we cope without an app for our cars before?😉🙄🙄
  15. …..or download it….and then have a good long moan about it on here🤔😉😉
  16. Moral of the story Michael? Get rid of the App...simples...!!😉 whoever heard of needing an App to operate their car anyway...
  17. Aha, I get you now....who knows? As I say, it surprised me. I thought they'd be able to source such a part much closer to home - but it appears not to be the case.
  18. Not sure what you mean Tel?😉
  19. It was explained to me by the aftersales manager...something to do with priorities and the various gradings of such orders....a bit surprised UX driveshafts had to be ordered from Japan..meaning there isn't a ready supply in the UK somewhere..but hey ho...we shall see. I must assume all such orders from Japan for Lexus genuine parts are all flown over? As long as my own car goes like it should once it's sorted, I'll be happy. As I've said elsewhere, a bit of a horrendous start to Lexus UX ownership...best it gets better once I get mine back all ready to go😉
  20. My £22K bought me a 2020 250h F Sport with 20,000 miles…from a Lexus dealer. I’ve had a few issues with mine (documented on here). The track pad system is fine and does not take a lot of getting used to.. Coming from a BMW 325i, my test drive in the UX was completely unfamiliar territory. As my car is currently back at the dealer for a new driveshaft….or two…I’ve got a 1 year old 250h F Sport courtesy car to compare with mine. The ride is still fidgety (as it also was with an LBX I had for a while), something well known, but which I can get used to. The performance of the courtesy car, compared to my own right from the start, is a bit of a revelation….so now I know how a 250h should go…no juddering under load..no trouble keeping up with the traffic, especially up long winding hills….so I might suggest trying more than 1 if I were you, to compare. They’re not sports cars, but have adequate performance and lack of space is not an issue for me as there’s only two of us. You buy a UX for comfort, reliability and economy….with any badge snobbery, if you are so inclined, a bonus. I’m just looking forward to getting mine back and running like it should, so I can finally start to enjoy the ownership experience…..which has got off to a rather horrendous start. Good luck😉
  21. They've ordered both..to be on the safe side. Whether they'll fit both to my car is another question....
  22. I don't know yet Lee, but I swear that one violent judder, on the road up to the dealers the other day, came from the direction of the front/offside/right hand side (on the driver's right as he (or she) looks to the front. When I get that info, I'll post it here.
  23. A good point Don - but I'm the curious type...if there's no real answer, and - as I say - if it was a bad one...then fine....just so long as when I get it back, I don't get other cars shooting past me up hills on the A30 at 70 whilst I'm struggling at 50😆
  24. Yes….I did ask the aftersales manager if mine’s had accident repairs…no real response as yet, but I will follow up on probable causes…which may be that it was just a bad driveshaft🤔as they did tell me it was leaking oil..
  25. Yes, I was mightily surprised. The 1 year old/10,000 mile F Sport I have as a courtesy car goes like it’s in a different league….mine should be the same of course. The dealer chief tech said he was surprised I got mine to them in one piece under the circumstances……a Lexus with a failing driveshaft doesn’t behave too well let me tell you🤔🙄🙄. I’ve asked them to double check, in due course, I’ve not caused it any further damage by driving it up to them.
