The 2023 courtesy car I had for about a month (F Sport Design) had a kickdown feature which effectively shifted down by up to 2 gears, depending how far I put my foot down, and then taking off like a turbo diesel. Should my 2020 UX go the same way? I don’t think it does….when I asked the technician about this, he told me the newer cars had a different engine management system set up. Can I get mine to go like that I wonder🤔 Any thoughts?

Activating the Lexus provided Tracker
Pauly C replied to CraigB's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I’ve had one of these trackers fitted by my Lexus dealer and have got the ‘credit’ card. No follow up E Mails from anyone. Contacted Tracker, no reply. What the hell I’m supposed to do next Lord knows🙄🙄😡 -
You sure it doesn’t just require a rub down and respray? Is the damage so bad it’s not repairable? I guess it can also depend on the paint….is it a specialised colour? Do you go to a Lexus approved bodyshop as a result, or a decent local independent? So many potential variables, but you have to be looking at anywhere between £400 for a rubdown & respray, to something around £1K, possibly a bit more, if you go to a Lexus dealer for the full works🤔

Well, the so-called storming of the White House for starters…🤔

I guess members don't get too uptight about politics being brought up within this forum...? All I will say is...I cannot understand how someone like him, with all his baggage (no smoke without fire and all that) can be permitted to run for the US Presidency. He brought the office of the US President into disrepute before...and he's about to do it again. What an absolute shambles😡

My head would tell me a UX..as there's only the two of us now....with the kids, an NX 350h but.....my heart would tell me an LC500 (the all-petrol version)😍

reverse sound
Pauly C replied to ikarian999's topic in Lexus LBX Owners Club - The All-New Lexus LBX
Consider yourself lucky…my UX doesn’t have the ‘spacey’ sound, and already I’ve had people moan at me as I drive past…cos they can’t hear me coming….well, the deafer ones amongst us can’t anyway🤔😉😉 -
Home at Last….with the Correct UX
Pauly C replied to Pauly C's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Take a look in the UX forum Mark...it's well publicised, and a long story...how I kept my patience I don't know...I could have rejected it..but gave the dealer the benefit of the doubt...bloke buys a Lexus from a main dealer....all is not right with it from the start....bloke contacts the dealer....dealer's left hand does not know what the dealer's right hand is doing....bloke is inconvenienced by having to make an excessive number of return trips at at least 4 hours a time....bloke finally gets the car he should have had 3 months later...'nuff said🤔😉😉 -
Home at Last….with the Correct UX
Pauly C replied to Pauly C's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Indeed Piers😆.....the ride is still 'fidgety' but that's a Lexus thing...and I'm getting used to it.... -
Well, it's free - for the first 3 years anyway - as you know Ron...so it would be daft of me not to go along with it, would it not? I'll see how it goes for the time being😉

Just got my UX back from the dealer, after being told it now has a new tracker fitted. I got a plastic card, with the instructions on the back of the card holder telling me to log onto the tracker website to download the 'welcome pack'. So, does anyone know: 1. Which 'welcome' pack I'm supposed to be downloading? There appear to me to be about 3 or 4 in contention... 2. At which point am I supposed to get the tracker 'activated'? (I assume the welcome pack will tell me this). 3. Mrs C says she thinks it should get 'activated' straight away....I'm not so sure....don't want plod apprehending me, every time I go shopping😆...so does it get 'activated' at the point I report my car stolen? Any help/advice gratefully received...

Well, it’s been a long time a-coming…..3 months to be exact. After 5 return trips of at least 4 hrs per round trip to my ‘local’ Lexus dealer, I think I’ve finally got the car I thought I bought in the first place. It’s had 1 new rear view drivers door mirror, 2 new front tyres and 2 new driveshafts. Hate to think what that lot would’ve cost me had I paid for it all at a main Lexus dealer....£2.5K?? Of course, I shouldn’t have had to make any such return trips since picking the car up🤔🤔 The UX now feels ‘tight’, with a bit of go to match, no juddering, and….wait for it….a full tank of fuel and a new tracker fitted😉😉🙂🙂🙂 If I have one little bugbear…and I’ve had this every single time I’ve collected my car(s) from a garage….why can’t I have my car(s) returned with the same settings (seat/display/mirrors/radio station….you name it) 🙄

Useless Tech.

…putting a couple of well known local destinations into the satnav of my 2023 UX courtesy car…only for it to tell me “…..destination not known…..”🤔🙄🙄🙄 -

Oil maintenance required soon
Pauly C replied to Alex 123's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
This notification came up on my courtesy car about a week ago. Given my well-publicised circumstances, I don't care. There's no way I'm worrying about the servicing schedule on a courtesy car🤔😉 -
Yep, in full plain English please...!
-
Drive everywhere like Miss Daisy...or get a car more suited to city driving, like a self-charging hybrid. The city MPG figures depend on soooo many things...your driving style, how well your car has been maintained etc etc etc.....city driving will always bring out the worst in an ICE-engined car for sure. In my last car I could actually see the fuel needle moving, in the wrong direction, as I drove around the city where I used to live....which is why I bought a UX...

Garage services in Reading ?
Pauly C replied to Srishail Kumar's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Can't you go to a decent local garage or even - dare I say it - a local Kwik Fit? If it's only wheel alignment then surely you don't need to be worrying about what a Lexus dealer will charge..? -
You want towing ability..? You get a turbo diesel...not a CVT😉
-
I'm probably worrying unnecessarily here....all getting rather frustrating now, and all I want is my car back for which I paid over £22K for. I don't want to use this forum as a sounding board after having had a good moan...I think I've been quite well restrained in that respect. If this delay goes on for much longer I'll start to seriously think about going to Lexus UK HQ with details of the whole saga. I will give the dealer the benefit of the doubt, and see how my car goes once I get it back post-repair....if it falls short in any way, it's being rejected, at no cost to me. I feel I really don't need this...and with a Lexus of all cars🙄
-
In my case, it looks to have been a failing driveshaft. I got the same symptoms….although I got the juddering through the car itself too. I only hope the new driveshafts - when they’ve been fitted - do indeed cure it🤔🙄
-
Very true, already thought of that Don😉 Still want mine back…..when it’s running like it should…..as it’s a better looking car😉😉 The whole faff is crazy, and patience is beginning to wear thin…😡
