So how was the IS 250 compared to IS200 or IS300?Quiet?Performance?Interior quality and comfort ? Did you drive the automatic or manual gearbox?
-
IT seems you have the same symptons as i had mate...i think its best to get Lexus to at least check it out on the computer as this will tell them what the fault is...that way you will now what the problem is and then the choice is up to you to get it done by Lexus or someone else..:)
definately sounds like one of the coil packs though
Toyota (in a small town) here in Sweden wants about £ 130 to fix it. A "real" Lexus dealer wants much more.Im getting my car back tomorrow. :)

I got exactly the same problem on my engine today! My engine is running very bad.The whole car is trembling like a leaf.I dont know what to do? Should i really drive my car to the Lexus dealer? It sounds like an old fishing boat when i start my engine and there is no power at all when I hit the accelerator (the car moves like it had 50 hp).
Please. Give me some advice
Edit: My car is 100% original and has a full serivce history

OK,then I will try it!
Thank you for the help!

Hello!
I found out that K&N has this replacement filter for the IS 200 model. Is there anybody out there who has tryed this one? I wonder if there is a clear difference between this one and the original Lexus filter? Or is it just a waste of money?
The product number is "33-2845".

Cool!
Did you get any technical information too?Does the inside look sporty (tachometer and steering wheel ) or is it more elegant and conservative like the new GS?
-
No! Not again!
I do really not understand how its possible that nobody has a real picture of it.And for what reason do Lexus keep this information so secret? All the other manufacturers has allready showed public pictures of they cars (BMW 3,VW Passat,Saab,Alfa Romeo...) They will all debute at Geneva Auto Show.
So exactly what makes Lexus so special? This "Area 51" secrecy makes the expectations so high that when the real car is showed, everybody will get disappointed.
-
I would not be surprised if the designer was Italian. The taillights reminds me of Alfa Romeo.
-
Thank you IS chigz200!
It looks very cool. :D

The picture shown in Auto Express is nothing like the yellow one! It looks a lil like the LF-C (Front). I still think this is a Photoshop image but it looks good.
If this is the new IS.. then BMW have some serious competition ( not sure about the door mounted mirrors tho).
The lights don’t look at all like the mazda!! :D
Is there anybody out there who can scan the picture or take a picture of it ( for example with a cellphone)?I would like to see it,but I do not have "Auto Express" here in Sweden.
-
No manual gearbox? Thats impossible if they want to compete with the new BMW 3 series and Audi. Even MB has a manual gerabox on the C and E versions.
I want the diesel with automatic gearbox, but if this info is true I´ll have to the diesel. :D

The New Lexus IS - World First
The new Lexus IS has its world premiere at the Lexus press conference on 1 March at 12:15pm. The car will feature the first ever Lexus diesel engine. Pictures and information about the new car will be revealed at the time
OK, pictures and brochures will be there, but what about the car? Maybe I´m just stupid, but nothing in the sentence above says that the car itself will be there.
-
Nice! :)
But isnt the blue one to small? The size makes me think of a Toyota Corolla or Mazda 3.They grey looks much larger (windows, lenght, height) .Somehow it seems like they aren't even the same car.
-
Somebody said that this car is very close to the real thing.I dont know if thats true.
-
For those of you who haven't figured out the search feature yet, try this thread from just the other day, on the LS400/430 forum titled "New 2006 LS430".
http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=19768
There's 2 piccys of the new IS, more or less "blessed" by those on this forum who seem to be "in the know". Also I found on the 'net very similar pics (but of a grey car) scanned from a Japanese car mag.
Thats strange! I heard that the grey and yellow IS 2005 picture is a photoshop of the BMW 6 series.Look at this and compare the side mirros and the roof shape. Its pretty obvious that the mirrors are BMW original, and the shape of the side windows are photoshop..The frontlights are from the Lexus ES 250.I do not thinks this is the real car.
-
There are already photos out.But only the Lexus dealers have them.I will ask my friend at Lexus if I can see them :)
Its only abouth a month to the debute of the new IS,and there is still no real picture for us "civilians" to see, only photoshops.Strange! Real photos of the new BMW 3 series was out in nowember (!) six months before the debute.Pictures of the new Volkswagen Passat, also debuting in march, was showed (by Volkswagen) about a month ago.
Lexus must be the best :shutit: company in the world! :(
-
i thought we had it on good authority new IS wasn't gonna be here until mid 2006???
Yes,but it depends on how you look at it.
My local Lexus dealer in Sweden said a long time ago that the only reason why Lexus is waiting with the new IS,is the new BMW 3 series. They wanted to see exactly what that car would look like ( performance, engines, technology and so on) before they introduced the new IS in europe. He also said "when BMW releases the 3 series,Lexus will release the IS".And thats exactly what will happen. The 3 series will also debute att Geneva Auto saloon.
The reason why people says 2006 is becuase it will be sold in the USA as a 2006 year model. But it will be at the dealers in late nowember i EU.In japan the car will be on the road in august/september.
Sorry, my english is bad ,im from sweden :)
