  1. Dav, trust me to marry a welsh bird that hardly speaks any 😆. I'm waiting for a local course. Going to learn how to say Machynlleth now 😛
  2. Ohh I know which neighbour Andy 😉.... Claybar is a common theme, I'll give it a try.
  3. I'm obviously in...Diolch yr fawr
  4. So, had my pride and joy for three days when a fool a few houses along decided to have a fire in his garden, burning dubious stuff by the smell of it. Wind blew embers over my drive which settled all over the car, I managed to wipe it all off fortunately and threw a sheet over the car. Rain started so off came the cotton sheet. Following morning I found the front section of the bonnet peppered with white specs, three different polishes (incl G3) won't shift it. Ive read that ash reacts when it gets wet and etches into the lacquer. Anyone had experience getting this damage off? A local paint shop will try and flat the lacquer with wet n dry, if not it's @ £720 for a spray job.
  5. Thanks Andy, my problem now is finding replies here haha. I think ive got the gears now. I've moved onto trying to find route cancelling on the sat nav!!
  6. Anyone come up with a fix? I have a garage, tools,welder...Just pull out the wheel arch liner and there it is? (LC500)
  7. I was taking a hire van back to the depot on a narrow lane in January when one of our travelling friends doing 60 on my side of the rd took out my mirror.....£100 and that ground my gears!!
  8. Over the years Ive had wheels on n off for numerous reasons, like to maintain myself. Although I do get cars serviced too. Eg why pay 1000's to have a set of pads and discs fitted when it's a piece of cake to diy.. Can't see why they's supply a jack and instructions how to use it if it's going to twist your car 🥴
  9. Apologies in advance, I really have no luck using the search option here 😞 Bit confused. Read a post with diagrams recently which stated don't use a jack on the four corners, jack in centre front and diff rear or chassis damage will occur. Lifted the cover inside my boot yesterday and found a scissor jack, read the Lexus LC manual which shows where the four jacking points are ???
  10. Dav, know the Ponderosa well, bro in law lives in Minera. Off to Bala lake this afternoon if anyone nearby 😍, glorious day.
  11. Infotainment....Even on a 2022 UX the maps were dreadful until we plugged our android in. No option to do that with the 2018 LC. I have managed to pair the phone with bluetooth now and can get radio stations far more easily now 👌
  12. WOW that was a learning curve. Picked up my beauty yesterday complete with box of beer for me and Prosecco for her indoors. So, thought I'd be good and leave it in comfort mode until I got off the motorways...Bradford to Conwy, North Wales. Had a play with the infotainment, yep it's fiddly to say the least as everyone says. Off the motorway so I thought I'd switch to manual mode.....errr nah. Tried doing what I usually do and knock lever sideways and select M. Nothing. So, nothing behind me, I stop in middle of rd, try neutral/park, nothing. I switch off and back on...nope won't even get a gear now, hazards on 😅. Finally I must have held the lever to the side and got gears!! Driving through the Snowdonia twisties, letting loose on the straights.....OMG, you're right, with revs up its an animal 🤣. My driving?? The steering is so sharp I'm inputting too much so the car's twitching left n right too much haha. I'm looking forward to much practice 😎. AAArrgghhh....Stopped in front of my garage, who'd have thought I should have checked the width of this beast at the rear!! Should JUST go in if I hold my breath...... Fantastic. Pics on my profile somewhere. Glorious mountains.
  13. Oh tell me about it, since moving to Snowdonia this year we've been exploring on the motorbike, tiny single tracks, over grown with moss and sheer drops in the mountains 😄
  14. Blimey, that explains the front wheel thing. Maybe I could remove the liner and shield the wiring in some way. I'm really not a fan of imobilisers as they are prone to fail and cause problems. Ive heard of software and an app that changes throttle response, also renders the car useless when switched off! What I would say is I always try searching for a subject but often dont find it on these sites, must be doing something wrong 🤪
  15. Well ive trawled through aches of text on this subject but no ones mentioned to new owners what this canbus theft is? Can someone share the basics please. I have a steering lock/bar and can weld up a custom pedal lock too!!
  16. Hi all. May I recommend pulling out an old tree stump using the Lexus towing eye... Simply screw through the front bumper, hook your 4 ton ratchet strap to eye and wrap far end around stump. Reverse slowly and watch hours of hard graft slide away.....🤣.
  17. Tell you what Simon, my daughters in Essex, when I'm next going through that way I'll let you know....Tom.
  18. Alps sounds nice. IN 2005 I did the Stelio pass on my new R1, now there's a road 😅. Was only talking to the Mrs yesterday about a tour around France and Europe, I'm not sure if there's mass civil unrest though!
  19. My XC40, previous car, used to slam on the brakes if it detected a big undulation in the road. Rather unnerving 🤪
  20. I guess you can get canbus'd anywhere??
  21. Hi all. Wondering if we could start a list of owners in the UK? Picking up my Sport+ on Saturday and would be nice to sort some meets now n then. Can't see anything on the forums already. Cheers, Tom. Snowdonia national park.
  22. Picking her up in a few days..
