Morning all. Please would someone help me out... My UK car came with ONE battered key. A key man is having trouble determining which key to order. I have a 4 button key (panic button), he says a part number suggests it should be a three button older type key. Can. anyone put up a pic of their UK 2018 key? Also we are trying to find one side of my battered key, £150 from Lexus (the buttons side). Cheers. Tom.

Sorted 👌. Seems my 2018 only works on Lexus Link and not link plus though, so I have two apps.

Just had a thought. Our new UX250 came with the Lexus Link and an app installed on my android. Can I somehow have the same set-up for my LC500? Will they conflict? One for the younguns 😅....

Yep that's better Andy. I did email Lexus with the pics and questions re' warranty but it must have gone to one of those addresses that they never look at!!! I'l try direct approach with Lexus Preston, they're good..
-
Brett, maybe the parts man looked up part of the boot lid. If it's the assembly I'm buying in bulk 🤣
-
Andy, so far Ive only seen covers available in the US. The Lexus parts man did say they fit most models but you may know better from experience. I was thinking of getting one of those throttle commanders, purely because you can hit an option disabling the system.

Hi all, if anyone's curious. I called Lexus Preston today, not my nearest but SO much better service than some of the others. I only have one key for my LC, my fault, didn't think to ask after I clapped eyes on the beauty 😅. So, a new key, cut and programmed £600. A new front cover for the existing key, it's peeling! £148. A bonnet, £1075. Painting @£700. A door skin, £1600. The inner door....POA 😳 A door mirror, £900. A short V8 engine £25000. A wing, under £500. A boot lid @ £1000 but there's lots of additional parts... A wheel £2600. Apparently there's a shield available for a few Lexus models which covers the 'canbus' behind the headlight, £90 plus fitting. (DIY?). I'm currently waiting to see if the dealer will honour his promise to supply me with the missing key 🙄. However he's probably still smarting over the £800 major service he got done before collection. Regards.. Tom.

I wouldn't touch a German car any more. Having said that my Lexus IS corroding underneath, far worse than a German car. -
Ha, no one. Just moved to Snowdonia but have my feelers out as a new future customer...

Hi Marc. I tried this a couple of years back and all the local garages in the Blackpool area refused, quoting insurance reasons 😞. Was hoping for a personal recommendation. Tom.
-
Morning Lexus enthusiasts. I'd really like to rent a car lift for the day to treat the underside of my LC500. Any recommendations please. North west or North Wales preferred but will travel. Cheers. Tom.

No idea where the previous owner lived, ive only had the car a couple of weeks. I really need to rent a car lift somewhere for a day and treat the underside...

Ok...There's the rusty bolt and the piece of valve flange it went through. Both flanges are cracked where the bolt goes through...
-
Haha Chris....it's not the same as a disc with a micron of rust. (My rust is CRUSTY) Folks I posted because it's unusually rusty, I'll have to crawl under and take a pic or two. Best, most likely response is it's a Japanese motor and they have different standards to other countries. Maybe it was a seaside car? While I'm down there I'll show you what fell off...🤣....Part of the plastic flange holding the exhaust valves to the exhaust. Both cracked where the 8mm bolts go thru'. Brace yourself Rodney.........

Morning all, I must be doing something wrong as nothing comes up on a search of corrosion / rust... Anyway, had the rear end jacked up yesterday so I could un-plug the exhaust valves. Was surprised to see a fair amount of rust on the steel parts. Diff housing, drive shafts, cross member in front of the rear steer rack and any bolts in sight. Anyone noticed similar? My 2005 Mercedes van is cleaner 🥴. Would be really good to rent some time on a car lift and go over it all but tried that a couple of years ago and all the garages quoted insurance reasons when refusing....

Was a lovely day out, everyone wants to chat about their cars, one even invited to sit in his Vintage immaculate Vauxhall Victor, normally a big no no 😅. We had a blast afterwards, did a big circular route via 'Betsy', Porthmadog, Blaenau Ffestiniog and back, with a dip in a lake half way round. All after I pulled the plugs on the exhaust valves 🤣

Sun's shining in Snowdonia and ideal day to attend the classic show in Betsy....see you there in your shiny LC500'S 😎
-
Ohhh no one told me they were serious about that 😅

There's a car meet at Betws y coed (Betsy coid) tomorrow, 11th August, if anyones nearby? Run by North Wales Automobile club, they're inviting cars over 30 years old but nothing stopping us outside of the field......

Ahhhh there's an October fest 27th/28th, we may be worse for wear? Unless you want to incorporate that? Shell Island, not far from Harlech, west coast.
