Guys I got a reply back from Lexus Marketing manager and will be talking to him next weeka bout the Lexus Ireland meet! Went back to garage and they said that they dont seem to know what it is that causing the knock. I took a mechanic for a spin around the back of the garage forecourt and I was able to make it knock twice while doing two left turns. Kinda seems like it happens if your turning left and go over a very slghty incline of ground. Could a ball joint be defective but not be visible to the eye ie wear? They taking the car on Tuesday and might start ordering in parts reluctantly! Besides ball joints what else should they order in which could be causing this noise?

Guys Where is the cheapest and best place to buy Mobil 1 engine oil? I am upgrading my oil to Mobil1 5W-30 and bought Denso Iridium IK22 plugs due to my supercharger being installed soon. Thanks

Guys took the car back to the garage today and they checked it out. They said the ball joints were fine The shocks was ok They oiled the bushes? and tightened the anti roll bars. I was happy enough and drove to a nearby supermarket car park and did a tight turn to the left on full lock to satisfy myself that the noise was gone and again I hear the lovely "KNOCK" sound from the front right! I'm mad now because i really dont think they did very much to the car at all!!! I need to get them to start replacing things guys! I think its a ball joint myself! Can you tell me what parts are usually replaced on situtaions like this? I want to go back armed with ideas too help the clowns out abit!

I am actually naturally interested in peoples' comments and views on LOC and getting good value for money. Hell I even made the 800mile round trip to JAE this year to get to meet some of these great people and see these wonderful cars!! I try to be curtious on here as I do in everyday life and would expect to be treated the same even if people dont agree with something I say. A PM or "hold up a sec.." usually works rather than being told to "go f**K yourself" I know you have been helping members out on here for some time . Thats very nice of you and your fortunate to be in a position to have access to all Lexus/Toyota parts and information. The fact that you kindly share it with other members is admirable! So pat on the back for you!!!! I was only wondering whether you were commenting specifically about Lexus Teeside's retail prices since your example of retail price and theirs happened to be the same? I dont see what the issue is if they choose to sell at the price they do? Different dealerships use different strategies and I guess Lexus Teeside are just aggressively going after the parts market via the means of "impossible" prices as you said above Chris. "Theres no sentiment in business" I wonder will they have the same "impossible" price for the new IS250 :D

Well all of the posts above are as a result of Jasper offering information to other LOC'ers that they could get a really great deal from Lexus Teeside? You questioned also how dealerships could sell headlamps for £63.00each inc vat & delivery which coincidently appears to be what Lexus Teeside can sell them for!!!. Thats how I must have been mislead with your random example of price being the same as Lexus Teeside's. Ohh well.. I think its great for LOC'ers anyway. A little competition never hurt anyone! Brings prices down for us customers.

If this is aimed at Lexus Teeside which it most obviously is I would say that those guys are just being a little bit clever in a killer market with many competitors! Its a buyers market!! Customer is King! Sometimes its a good strategy to sell cheap in the hope of selling in quantity rather than having an expensive product lying on a shelf with the odd sale everyonce in a while. Bravo Lexus Teeside!!!!

Guys just managed to stumble on this thread and see something about the SC and new plugs!! I have the Supercharger being installed on the car on Saturday week and was wondering if the Denso IK22's would be a good investment? It would be easy throw them in since the engine cover is coming off for good! lol

Guys Perhaps someone out there can clear this one up. What is the difference in the headlights of an IS200 that for example drives in France on the right hand side of the road and the headlights of a UK spec IS200 which obviously drives on the left? Is it just they are focused differently? Reason asking is I can buy a cheap set of IS200 headlights in France split them open and do my black dark JDM mod on them and then have them refocused for driving on left. Cheers!!

I'd go for it Sean BUT Swap the front bumpers ASAP!!!! Just check aswell though Sean that the Mileage can be verified! From experience if it seems to good to be true it most likely probably is!!!!! If it was in the UK it would be great cos with the plates you cant really tell at first glance what year a car is!! However over here in Ireland from our plates, its blatently obvious what year the car is! There is always that tiny tiny tiny bit of stigma about driving an older car! Fair enough is a cracker of a car at the end of the day, but I'd really want it to be the same year as my current car at least if not even newer!!!(Thats just me though :D ) Just my two cents! Its your call Sean!! Wouldn't mind going to see it when your going to look at it!

I had a mechanic friend of mine check out the car and he couldn't really see too much wrong. Although when he drove it he heard the "knock" when turning left aswell. He said it may well be a ball joint about to go! but he doesn't think its the shock as you would have a "knock" noise everytime you went over a bump or pothole on the roads. He didnt have a ramp but the car is booked into be looked at by the garage on wednesday so hopefully they will sort it.
