  1. I might buy a set on Ebay! get them powdercoated over here in Ireland, and flog them on! You could sand blast them back to bare metal! I did exactly this process with my calipers all round and they look as good now as they did the day they were done!
  2. Good thinking mate! They look way more expensive than €50 per rim!! I wonder what they would look like if you were to powder coat them in White or black! Powder coating them is like a really ultra tough plastic paint. Very easy to keep clean!!
  3. More bling!! Means more Trophies! The car is gonna clean up at shows over here! Already got me the Pioneer headunit! They never even seen a supercharger the last show I went too :D Chris what did you think of the noise from the induction pipe? It seems to be getting better!
  4. Nope Nothing! I had to email a guy called Florian Bachus at TTE who organised for one to be sent over. Athough in my TTE kit I did notices that I had two bags containing the same pieces. Chris was saying they were for the standard airbox or something like that. They look like plastic T sections or something. I got two of them? Perhaps thats where the confusion was.
  5. Rob mate All is looking good so far! Again I dont want to tempt fate but it looks like your initial sugesstion a few posts back was the culprit! I owe you a beer or two mate! I am really starting to get to grips with the whole mechanical aspect of how the SC works! Thank you so much to everyone Matt C, Aido, Ad77, TheDon, and everyone else who took the time to help me and whose name I sisn't mention!! Ye guys know who ye are!! Thank you sincerely!! I just need to find fitting intructions for the new spring!!
  6. Guys I dont want to tempt fate but I think I am sorted!! Adjusted the throttle cable at the bypass valve area of the SC (like in Robs pic) albeit I didn't have a spanner, but I will tighten it up when I get home with a little spanner. Eng Mgt light went off and TRC light went off. Popped her in 2nd put foot down and she was laughing at me as if to say is that all you got! Popped her into 3rd with that beautiful "shhhhh" noise. Floored it in 3rd and she was gaggin for more accelerator. This would so make sense with the Lexus error code P1128 Throttle Control Lock Malfunction. The servo was pulling the bypass throttle and was coming up againgst to much resistance and kinda said "Feck This" and would assume the servo was jammed! I will tidy up the ECU area aswell and better insulate the soldered joints! But it looks like the ECU was wired in right after all!! Heres some pics of the bypass cable now after adjustment back to the way it was.
  7. I have the old type of spring! But TTE posted me out the new upgraded spring which I recieved yesterday. I didn't want to put it on till I got this all sorted out! The new spring I have recieved is like one you would see on a mouse trap. Rob it actually did it in 3rd gear this morning but mostly in 2nd. It seems if you put your foot down quickly, as in give it a bit of welly, the accelerator kinda like "pops" back at you! and you kinda free wheeling with lights on the dash on. If you put foot back on accelerator nothing happens. If you just accelerator progressively and easy theres no bother at all.
  8. Yes Addie Mine was like that up until last Sunday when we tightened it up thinking there was too much slack on it. Now mine at the moment is very tight and staight. It doesn't have that kink like in Robs pic!! Would this cause the "P1128 Throttle Motor Lock Malfuction" error that Lexus diagnosed from the ECU error memory? It would all make sense. But would this however cause the CEL and TRC light to flash and then the car not be able to start for a few seconds afterwards? SAFE MODE?
  9. Rob here you go. I dont have that bend on the little spring like you do anymore after that adjustment!!
  10. Rob I will get a picture ASAP! I think this could be it!
  11. All I can do is wait for TTE to send me out a new ECU. And when it arrives double check the wires when installing it. I just remembered something there that was done prior to all this fiasco happening. I was at a car show and was showing the engine bay and when I was revving it up someone pointed out to me that the throttle cable to the butterfly valve looked not tight. My brother tightened up the nuts on the throttle cable near the butterfly valve. What tightness should they be? I am thinking maybe they are too tight and making it hard for the servo to pull?
  12. Its kinda looking like a dodgey ECU then. My symptoms match Rx-men-8's
  13. TTE still haven't got back to me. I rang them today aswell.
  14. OK guys came out of work tonight and put the car in second gear and put the foot down! Same old scenario as mentioned above. Engine Mgmt light on and TRC flashing! More worryingly the car wouldn't start back up again for over a minute and a half. It reluctantly started then after that and I had to crawl home about 30mph afraid to put the foot down for fear of being stranded.
  15. how many springs do u have on the bypass valve?? and what is the position of the nuts on the threaded adjuster for the bypass valve? ← Rob I will have to take you a picture as this whole SC is so new to me!
  16. Can maybe people put up some pictures of the ECUs This is really peeing me off! I appreciate that Gord!
  17. It was Cris Mcgee (TheDon) who wired it up. He has done quiet a few installs now so I am happy that the ECU is wired correctly. The thing is Gord is was working perfectly up until yesterday.
  18. its possible you have damaged the electro/mechanical throttle motor, when fitting the cam for the by pass throttle/valve cable the throttle body on the is200 has 2 motors fitted, one works the butterfly from idle, this is the one that is directly connected to the throttle cable cam, and what the bypass cable cam was bolted to, its possible if tduring fitting if the ignition was on, or the cable was fitted wrongly that undue pressure was forced on the motor and its struggling to operate freely. its easy to teast, look at throttle body, get someone to rev up the car.....can you see the bypass cam operating independantly to the throttle cam ← We were very carful during the install Matt! But I will take a look tomorrow. Its scary though how similar RX-Men-8's symptons were and mine are now!! He basically emailed me an almost like for like scenario he had!
  19. Guys why would the OBDII port have given the P1128 Throttle Motor Lock Malfunction error? Would the car just have interpretted the the failure of the Piggy back ECU as being a throttle problem? I have checked the cables and mechanisms and the all look fine.
  20. The prcats would hardly have melted after less then a week would they :o
  21. Do you think Matt like what Zee was saying above that this is most likely my problem?
