  1. Malcolm Consider getting and fitting a battery monitor.....otherwise giving it 'a proper charge' is just guesswork I have this: https://www.ancel.com/products/ancel-bm200 Other makes are available...
  2. Paul I am a great believer in saying what I think, so I'm glad to hear you feel the same. I don't think you will find too many people on here with a thin skin. Kudos for your post above, I'm sure it was hard to compose.....
  3. The downloadable manuals are your friends here....put them both on a tablet and sit in the car with them open.....something to read in the evenings too. Bookmark the index for easy reference I prefer reading them on the Kindle app, but any pdf reader will do https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/manuals?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks
  4. I suppose the battery in the sensor is now 8 years old and one may well have failed. Although obviously more expensive, it might be best to have them all replaced at the same time, as the other sensor batteries can't be far behind Do your tyres need replaced soon...? If so, might be a good thing to get all work completed at the one time...increasing the cost, but decreasing the hassle
  5. Have you checked the pressure in the tyres..?
  6. I think you can change what is shown in the view lines.....check in your manual.....the online one, not the paper copy that comes with the car https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/manuals?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks
  7. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007344949417.html? It's rubber...i don't see any mention of felt though....still, slightly cheaper
  8. Just tap or click on the attachment in the post by Herbs and it open as clear as day....
  9. Welcome Most 'bings and bongs' as you put it, are mandated by EU law (I accept we are not in the EU, however they aren't going to make a separate edition for a relatively small market) They can, in general, be switched off, if you are prepared to dig into the car's settings, but will be back again (EU law) the next time you start the car. All new vehicles are effected, not just Lexus ...most people just learn to live with it If you haven't done so already, download the manuals (there are two, an owners manual and a separate one for navigation and entertainment) your car from here: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/manuals?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks Lots of bedtime reading...! Enjoy your car and post a few photos when it arrives....
  10. I can envisage insurance problems should the car be damaged at, or stolen from, the airport, as the owner has deliberately disconnected the alarm and the immobiliser
  11. I thought that there was a warning on the dashboard if this occurred......
  12. https://www.clublexus.com/articles/video-watch-the-lc500-go-full-send-at-the-nordschleife/
  13. Ceri If you haven't already done so, download the car's manuals (a vehicle one and a separate one for navigation) from https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/manuals?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks The paper one that comes with the car is just a quick start guide. For example, my paper manual is around 300 pages, while the online one is 500 plus another 250 for navigation See around page 188 (it will vary depending on the car model)
  14. Read this thread for a tpms horror story it might be cheaper to buy from an independent, however when, in this case, four previously working tmps units suddenly fail after a tyre change and the garage concerned deny any responsibility, it suddenly gets a lot more expensive......not to mention the time and hassle involved in putting it right
  15. I can confirm that the mats I bought from carmatsforyou had almost no smell and are good quality although twice what Notamech paid https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07TJJN4F1/
  16. Victor Welcome to the forum Is the car vibrating or just the engine...? Tyres..? Perhaps out of balance or alignment....you don't have to hit too big a pothole to cause a problem, and sadly potholes are everywhere Has this problem only started recently..? Did anything of note happen immediately prior to the vibrations starting..?
  17. Ceri Welcome I agree with Steve. Most likely a failing 12v battery. Once the car returns from the dealer (hopefully with a nice new battery, I recommend fitting a battery monitor such as: https://www.ancel.com/products/ancel-bm200 that way you can easily keep an eye on it to ensure it stays in top condition. You are probably aware that it is a big no-no to have the car in accessory mode....it can flatten the battery in 20 minutes...always ensure it is in ready mode if you are in it. Additionally, if the vehicle is not being used for days at a time, you might consider a trickle charger, such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JLX9J15/ (Other makes are available) A jump starter such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOCO-GB40-UltraSafe-Lithium-Starter/dp/B015TKUPIC? is also a useful purchase. Lots of arguments on the forum along the lines of 'you shouldn't have to buy these items for a car that costs £xxxxx' however I prefer to be 'looking at them rather than looking for them' It's a lovely car....don't let this put you off
  18. I can recommend these mudflaps: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003549606878.html? As most of the oem parts are probably made in China anyway, it may well be that parts you buy here are made in the same factory
  19. Welcome. I concure with the suggestion of CARMATS4U.COM Excellent quality and value If you haven't already done so, download the owner manual and the navigation manual from here: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/manuals?utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks The paper one that comes with the car is only a 'quick start'......and the pdf version is much easier to search
  20. Aliexpress is always worth a look.....lots of third party instrument clusters that might fit the bill
  21. I thought I read in the manual that while you could jump start your car from another vehicle, Lexus warned against using your lexus to jump start another....? A booster pack might be a better option https://no.co/gb40
  22. Looks lovely.....gorgeous colour. Bodywork in great condition and immaculate inside....little sign of wear on the steering wheel and the rear seats look like no one has ever sat on them... Price...? (I've taken the liberty of pasting one of the pictures from the site as it looks so good)
