Tracker isn't going to stop someone gain entry and drive off, OBD geofence useless, I don't want an app, I won't use an app.
This is all utterly useless posturing and not fixing the issue at hand.
If someone can still gain entry and drive off the proposition is not a "solution"
Disklok diamond for the foreseeable then!- 1

I've had my eye on the UK LC500 market for a year now, as I was looking to time my purchase with my own personal circumstances, coupled with a favourable entry point.
It went quiet over winter as you'd expect, so I tried to lowball on a car in early March, incredibly despite it being on the market for months with seemingly no interest it went the following day as I was thinking about it! The saving grace was his car wasn't fully loaded, it had everything but the ML audio.
Now, by "fully loaded" I mean V8 (obviously) Sport+, HUD,ML audio, I viewed an example ticking all the boxes with less mileage a week later and the rest is history.
Which brings me on to my market observations, I still keep my eye on it now, of the ~20 V8 petrols sitting around, nearly all have a naff spec, not sport+ or either of ML/HUD are missing, anything that has "the lot" Priced at around 50k is shifting well. -

I took my big ugly holders off, cut my front plate down and mounted the front plate straight onto the grille with two long stainless self tappers through the holes in the grille plus a few bits of 3m tape for added lexusness. Rear is full size plate and 3m tape. Looks much better!
Aha, brilliant thanks.
I'm looking to put a 4 character plate on so hopefully chopping down as you have outlined will work a treat, I'll buy another UK plate holder to butcher.
Looking at JDM for the rear though, or a similar mod to the front I guess... -
I guess we'll find out, fingers crossed for good news then, though it will be a bit naff if the canbus rogue device still lets you into the vehicle even if you can't start it.

Not so fantastic, hmm, bugger, thanks for that important information, I guess I'll have to see how bad it looks with the holes and potentially replace part of the grille if I want to replace UK bits, the things we do in the pursuit of aesthetics.

Anyone know the part numbers for the following number plate holders please?
US FRONT 52114-11021 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-LC500-LC500H-2018-OEM-Genuine-Front-Bumper-LICENSE-PLATE-BRACKET-HOLDER/113300821927)

Not seen anything official, until then a pinch of salt and all that, but if this is indeed the case and they could have done this via software only all along, good grief...

Coming up to June and not even an update from Lexus, this is appalling.
Disklok Diamond release has been pushed back to Mid-June as well.

I'd expect at least a statement from Lexus to manage expectations as we bumble into another week, but here we are in the void.
At this point I'm starting to wonder if they just pushed something out to appease the public without actually having a solution ready to go, I wouldn't be surprised if what they propose is just a licensed version of the autowatch ghost or similar.
Cynicism aside I'm sure it's something they can fix/encrypt, and hopefully they announce something bespoke that does the trick soon.
Oh well, at least the disklok diamond is out soon 🫠 -
Looking at the latest comments on the article Lexus have finally fessed up that there's no updates and they're still working on it, so for now at least it's seemingly pointless contacting your local dealer.
-
It's been over a month now, and I've personally not had any joy so I have to ask, has anyone actually booked in to have this work since the Lexus statement came out?
The original article comments all appear to have been wiped and there's not much on there at all now. -
If I can get a rear facing child seat behind the passenger front you can easily get a teenager in there!
Height is the main issue if you're ~6ft or more and are in the back. -

Format it as FAT32, exFAT probably won't work. I use a 128GB mini USB stick for my music and it works without problems: I keep everything uncompressed (WAV) for best audio quality.
I've got a lot of FLAC music, had to trim down the library of a load of bits as it said "gathering information on the device" And I thought if it's going to analyse the lot it's probably best to!

Our 2015 NX will play 128GB formatted with fat32. I suspect it's the filesystem type that is preventing it playing.
Modern versions of windows can't format fat32 in large filesystems so you need a third party program.

Bingo, I took the 256GB stick, moved contents to PC, formatted the stick with FAT32, copied it all back, works fine now.
Thanks 🙂- 2

Afternoon all, I've a 2017 (67) LC500 which I'm struggling to get any of my USB drives working with.
I've tried a 256GB (exfat formatted) the light comes on briefly to show it has power, but doesn't show up as an option on the media selection screen.
I've also had no joy with a 64GB (ntfs formatted) 128GB (exfat formatted) Same thing happened.
Doesn't appear to be anything in the manual about this, the same sticks work fine in my other car, I must be doing something daft here, what works for you guys?
It will be interesting to see...

Just to update, want an LC500 with a v8? You have a mere 11 to choose from on autotrader, want one fully loaded (see above for definition) For around 50k? Tough, all gone barring a yellow one that's VERY keenly priced at £35,990, so what's the catch? 80,000 miles.
It will be interesting to see what happens from here, is a bottom in, or has it just gone quiet as we transition into winter, time will tell.
