  1. Only worry I have is remembering my father's advice to never buy a car in it's first year of manufacture. He was in the motor trade and felt that it needed a years production to iron out problems and idiosynchranies reported by early adopters. Don't know whether that applies in 2024!
  2. Does anyone know if it’s normal for comparison websites and insurers to be so slow to add new cars to their quotation systems? Or is it just the likes of Lexus that insurers are so reticent to quote for? I have previously bought cars in their 2nd or 3rd year of production and never had a problem getting dozens of competing insurance offers.
  3. Interesting, I am test driving Premium Plus on Tuesday so will give my views afterwards.
  4. Yes, I am interested in road /wind noise (refinement) as well.
  5. That's strange, when I checked they listed the range! Maybe worth a telephone call to Admiral to check?
  6. Did you try Admiral? I got a quote yesterday evening through “comparethemarket “ of £602. See previous post.
  7. I am sure we will all be interested in hearing your experience of the hand over and then the driving experience- ride comfort, road noise (or absence of), performance and just general impressions. Looks good on your drive!
  8. Admiral have the LBX in all variants on comparison websites. For a Premium Plus the quote was £602 - North Yorkshire, no accidents or claims, max NCD, retired - little competition at the moment but hopefully more insurers will now shortly list the LBX. Like "Robsmith" I am currently with LV so I’me waiting to see what their premiums are like before committing to purchase.
  9. The crazy thing is that the LBX is in insurance group 24, which is mid of where many premium small SUV’s are - Mini Countryman, Audi , some VW T-Roc’s etc - and insurance quotes for those are much lower than the current quotes for the LBX. I think we are all hoping quotes soon come down as more insurance companies add the LBX to the websites. if not as “dog3665” says Lexus are not going to succeed in selling it to their younger hipper target audience! Mind you I always thought that might be a bit of a stretch and far more likely to sell to more mature drivers downsizing or not needing a large car but still wanting a hint of luxury. I remember Honda trying to realign the Jazz to younger folk but it still sells predominantly to older buyers. I have arranged a test drive but certainly won’t be confirming my order until I see more realistic insurance quotes.
  10. I wonder why it is taking so long for quotes to be added? Perhaps the insurance companies think so few policy holders will be interested in the LBX that they are just not treating this as urgent. I am reluctant to confirm an order until I can access some competitive quotes.
  11. Where I live in North Yorkshire is a rural area and those I know with NFU mostly are/were involved in farming which supports what you were told. Hopefully more insurance options will become available when Insurance companies add the LBX to their quotes. I guess you are paying the price of being an "early adopter"!
  12. AS the LBX is less powerful than the UX Sport I wonder why it is in a higher insurance group (24 vs 22)?
  13. I see you are in Yorkshire, NFU insure many drivers in Yorkshire so not sure why they won’t quote you unless you are in a very high premium area?
  14. Well I'm holding off finalising my order for a Premium Plus LBX until I can see some sensible quotes on the comparison website sites. I doubt I am the only potential buyer holding off ordering either!
  15. Lexus plan to sell 25,000 LBX per annum. Unless insurance quotes in future come down to reasonable comparative sums they won't! Buyers in the £30-£40k range won't buy an LBX if insurance premiums are high compared with other cars in their price range - BMW, Audi etc. Hopefully quotes will settle to reasonable levels as more insurance companies come on stream on comparative websites.
  16. I tried on “Moneysupermarket” and got one ridiculous quote of £760 + had to have Black Box to monitor my driving! Hopefully the major insurance companies will update their databases over the coming week. If you are desperate I suggest you call your current insurer and have a conversation quoting the make/model etc. and that Thatcham rating is Group 24. It might just inspire them to sort you out more quickly. Incidentally the Toyota Yaris Cross - on which the LBX is based - is in Group 11 or 12 depending on model.
  17. New LBX is in Groups 23 - 25 depending on spec. Premium Plus is 24. For comparison Toyota Cross is Group 12.
