  1. Hi My insurance has jumped as follows: £400 - 22 £800 - 23 £1200 - 24 Also there was an attempted theft of my car using cam bus which caused £5K worth of damage. Only a handful of insurance companies will insure the car - with a huge excess. Be interesting to hear if others have had similar insurance issues. Thank you
  2. My car has a large heavy duty caravan lock on the wheels ! All because the car security is not fit for purpose. In fact the complete lack of security makes the car very very easy to steal, and this is why it is impossible to get insurance.
  3. Yes, the prices are ridiculous. Lexus must cover our losses or not only will they lose our custom, they are going have pay compensation plus a huge legal bill.
  4. My insurance on my Rx this year 4x higher than last. Already had to large claim for damage after an attempted theft. Still no sign of Lexus coming to the party. I have decided to keep the car, but have joined the group claim, and will sue to get every penny I have lost because Lexus designed and built a security system that was clearly not fit for purpose. I am beyond angry.
  5. I have too. I am keeping a track of all the extra costs, including the costs of repair, insurance, extra security, etc and will enjoy getting every penny I have lost back. The reason I am angry - is no one warned us about the cam bus vulnerability - first I heard about was when someone tried to nick my car.
  6. So true, we just bought a car but are expected to pay for all this unnecessary hype and bull.
  7. I agree, the quicker the flaw is put right the better we all sleep at night. I would also see Lexus subsidise our insurance and other related costs until they have fixed this security flaw. Concerning the flaw - Lexus security is not industry wide. The flaw mean would be thieves can access and steal a Lexus in under 30 seconds. This PP design.
  8. Many have fitted mechanical immobilisers - because the Lexus security system is not fit for purpose. This will put off many thieves, and mean the number of thefts will decrease, which will slowly feed through to our insurance premiums. Sadly, this will not help the folk who have to renew in the next few months - all of which will take huge hits. Lexus has done too little to late - they did not even bother to warn us about the vulnerabilities.
  9. I am half that, but I feel exactly the same. Lexus have blown 40 plus years of expensive work establishing the Lexus brand. Time to sell your Toyota shares I think.
  10. Sadly they don't get. There are lots like us who thought we were buying a premium product from a company we could trust.
  11. I agree, I think Lexus, because there has been very little publicity recently, are hoping the problem will quietly fad away without them having to pay to put the matter right. I have registered above, will never buy another Lexus and hope the legal action is long, public and painful for them. Very much like owners who were promised "Lexus Quality".
  12. Thanks My car is protected with an external steering wheel lock and a huge caravan wheel lock. Also have steel plates. Car security useless It's ridiculous that I have to do this for such an expensive car. Insurance still astronomical.
  13. Any news on progress with these issues. Lexus really need to come the party.
