  1. I’m also achieving c50 miles of EV range from a charge in my 450h+ which is most suitable for the majority of my journeys. The car is also good for our longer holidays with a bike carrier on the tow bar. We extensively tested the Velar (pre facelift) PHEV and preferred the comfort of the RX. However there is some harshness to the ride on rough surfaces at about 40mph. With many manufacturers developing PHEV cars I hope you can enjoy your research process

  2. I find that the CVT is generally unobtrusive noise wise but then I don’t tend to use the sports mode or drive particularly fast. Handling is fine for a large and heavy SUV, but the weight is noticeable over speed bumps. The drive and transition between HV and EV is incredibly smooth and very comfortable for long distances. I would recommend trying a test in both types of car and then assessing your findings against your expectations.

    On a 51 mile round trip in summer temperatures I can complete the full journey in ev mode with aircon on

    Hi Ken, that’s really impressive and also very interesting. Yesterday I did my regular trip of 50/50 dual carriageway and local roads with the EV range showing 54 but the car “only” returning 41 actual miles before the HV kicked in. My whole life miles per kilowatt hour is showing 2.8, is your car showing significantly better? Cheers Kevin

    Adaptive suspension (and does this allow you, for instance, to increase ride height for off road or dip the boot for loading?);

    Hi, as you would expect, the Takumi model has all the items that you have listed except cooled rear seats, but as far as I am aware no model has the ability to vary the ride height as the cars are on springs not air. The adaptability is limited to the spring/damper responses set between Normal and Sport modes and a gravel/rough road setting selected for low speed driving.

     I can confirm that the keys are designed to fall asleep after a period of time and this helps prevent boosting the signal.

    AA is wired on MY22 but CarPlay is wireless. The native satnav and apple Maps will display turn by turn on the HUD but Google maps is not displayed.

    Hope this helps…

  5. Hi Dell, yes even the Lexus dealership staff are embarrassed by the current state of the app. However I’m told that a new version is coming out about the end of July (presumably this year!) that should improve matters. I can trigger the remote heating/cooling but rarely do to be honest. Otherwise it’s just looking at the trip history and marvelling at my smooth driving skills 😗😂

  6. Hi Mark, the 9 beeps usually signify the warning that something has possibly been left in either the front or rear seats, or the boot. When you turn off the car you will get a beep and a visual warning on the dash. To disable this warning you need to press the OK button (bottom of the four on the left hand side thumb control, assuming you have HUD). I recognise that you have tried opening and closing doors, but I think unless you reopen the door that has triggered the signal it won’t be muted. It’s also worth noting that if you have driven with a passenger (or opened the boot before travelling) then switched off the car and then resumed your journey soon after the setting will still be live and will need cancellation at the conclusion of your journey. It’s a bit nannying to say the least, but better than forgetting about the fresh fish you left in the boot on a hot day 😉😂

    regards, Kevin

  7. Hi Bill, welcome to the forum/club. We tried both the NX and RX 450h+ before deciding on the latter as it provides greater space (obviously 😅) and much greater comfort and hi-fi quality. Best to find a helpful dealer and book some test drives. Best wishes for making your choice…
