  1. So this morning in the gentle snow I put the wipers to auto mode (the lights are already in auto mode) and started the car. The wipers were activated but the lights didn’t turn on. Later after lunch c13.45 I returned and the auto wipers and lights both turned on.. So I’m not convinced that the car has the settings to always turn on the lights. I’ll trawl the manual and see if I need to adjust a setting.
  2. @Flyingspanner congratulations on your choice of car and colour combination, it does look good (but then I would say that!) 😁
  3. @Robertas Z. tbh I wasn’t aware of this function and haven’t actually noticed it in operation. I’ll pay particular attention in future and see if it is working correctly. Until the next rain…. 😀
  4. @Robertas Z. , hi. Yes the wiper motor was replaced under warranty as it contains the software for the intermittent wipe function. Your dealer should contact Lexus UK as it’s recognised as a known issue.
  5. No it doesn’t unfortunately. Hopefully Lexus will follow the lead of other manufacturers and simplify the process.
  6. Hi, with my RX (Gen 5) to disable the speed warning for each trip involves the following: 1. Tap Vehicle icon 2. Tap Driving Assist 3. Swipe screen left then press Customise 4. Tap Notification 5. Tap Excess Speed Notification 6. Choose Off, Visual or Audible and Visual (the default) - I choose Visual only 7. Tap OK ….then drive 😂 In answer to your second question, no Sport mode doesn’t automatically disable the beeps in my car, but you can drive in Sports mode on pure EV. Hope this helps
  7. I have the Ammonite sand interior with Bamboo inlays as we wanted it to have a light interior. The bamboo on the steering wheel is wood but the inlays are plastic I believe and don’t look brilliant. However the surrounding trims and seats are very nice so it’s something I can live with.
  8. Hi Kenny, I’m not sure that this will ease your frustration or build upon it…. As my car is currently in for warranty I have been loaned an LBX with HUD. When switching off after a journey that involves opening the passenger door I got the single beep and the warning on the dashboard shown in my attachment. I pressed the OK button, locked the car and no beeps. So I repeated the exercise, didn’t press the OK button and then got the nine beeps when locking the car. In summary it appears that the LBX does enable the driver to disable the nine beeps (on each occasion rather than permanently), but that your car may not be configured correctly (?).
  9. Hi, is Lexus insurance requiring you to get a physical immobiliser like a steering wheel lock? Only when I look at the brochure (extract below) it shows all RXs come with a Thatcham approved Category 1 alarm and immobiliser system.
  10. Sorry to bombard you with pictures but hopefully they help. To temporarily disable the bongs you can hold the ‘OK’ button on the steering wheel when exiting the car. You can disable the rear seat warning through the Utilities menu in the car, but to disable the front passenger warning (which after all is probably the most used but is also the most obvious if you’ve left something, or someone, on the seat), requires dealer access.
  11. Yes it does. Sadly it’s not something that is automatically set by the My Settings profile so requires the driver to positively change it on each restart. Therefore on short, stop/start journeys I don’t bother to change it.
  12. Congratulations on your new car, hope you enjoy many happy miles of motoring. You may find that the additional 4mph only applies to the DRCC setting rather than the speed limit warning. It took me and my dealer some time to figure this out. However after some muscle memory training I now mute the warning before all long journeys.
  13. Kenny, do you get a single warning beep when you switch the car off and a warning message appear on the dashboard? If so it should show in that message which button to hold to disable the nine beeps. On my car it’s the bottom section of the left hand ‘4 pointed’ button. Hope this helps.
  14. Hi, yes I understand that it is genuine. I received one last year, ignored it and then got a second copy through the mail as a follow up. I checked with my dealer and got an affirmative answer.
  15. Be quick as I think that the free access expires near the end of this month. I’ve enjoyed trawling through some old reports and how well written they are.
  16. I’m also achieving c50 miles of EV range from a charge in my 450h+ which is most suitable for the majority of my journeys. The car is also good for our longer holidays with a bike carrier on the tow bar. We extensively tested the Velar (pre facelift) PHEV and preferred the comfort of the RX. However there is some harshness to the ride on rough surfaces at about 40mph. With many manufacturers developing PHEV cars I hope you can enjoy your research process
  17. Hi, I would suggest it is because the car retains 30% battery to be able to operate as a normal hybrid. Therefore it currently has 13% available to operate as pure EV. Hope that explains why
  18. Go to Settings, General, Language and Units then Trip Info Units. Hope this helps
  19. I find that the CVT is generally unobtrusive noise wise but then I don’t tend to use the sports mode or drive particularly fast. Handling is fine for a large and heavy SUV, but the weight is noticeable over speed bumps. The drive and transition between HV and EV is incredibly smooth and very comfortable for long distances. I would recommend trying a test in both types of car and then assessing your findings against your expectations.
  20. Mine is Gen5. Based upon the letter referring to the camera cases (front and rear) I would assume that it is only recent models, otherwise I would have expected the recall to have occurred earlier.
  21. Just a heads up that some RX model owners may receive a recall notification about checking the glue around the front and rear cameras. It appears that the supplier to Lexus had a dodgy batch of glue that can allow water ingress, and hence failure.
  22. Wow, that’s quite some difference to what I’ve achieved, well done. I score between 81-85 on the App but apparently need to do better (that rather reminds me of my school reports 😁)
  23. Hi Ken, that’s really impressive and also very interesting. Yesterday I did my regular trip of 50/50 dual carriageway and local roads with the EV range showing 54 but the car “only” returning 41 actual miles before the HV kicked in. My whole life miles per kilowatt hour is showing 2.8, is your car showing significantly better? Cheers Kevin
  24. Hi David, my RX shows an EV range of c54 miles through the App, but the reality through July when I was doing daily journeys that were a combination of 50% country roads and 50% dual carriageway was actually achieving c42-44 miles. My average speed during July was 27mph, so I’m not racing … hope this helps
