  1. Update on my earlier post - the NX300h Gen 1 Premier trim includes small puddle lights in the door handles (the ones that illuminate the door handles when you approach the car when it is locked). This provides gentle illumination of the ground to check for puddles or other obstacles. I am not sure which other Gen 1 trim levels include puddle lights.
  2. Welcome to the Lexus family Paul. Enjoy the serenity in your new pride and joy.
  3. Thank you both. I have had a look at my Gen 1 NX and there are no blanking plates.
  4. @rado16v very helpful instructions Amit. Do you know if this can also be fitted to the NX300h too? I have a 2016 plate Premier trim but I haven't had time to check if mine has the puddle lights or blanking plates yet but it will be good for future reference.
  5. Our tracker (for our UX300e) was registered by the dealer before we collected our vehicle. I was also given the credit card by the dealer, plus received an email from Tracker along with important info including customer number on the same day. I am having trouble activating the Tracker app on my iPhone, but it appears there is an issue with some trackers being fitted (I don't have the geofence part activated yet).
  6. Adrian - it really depends on what you need in your next car. If you want another SUV, I would suggest the NX. Excellent customer satisfaction / reliability ratings year after year. I think a similar size to the RH, and a little smaller and cheaper than the RX. Just make sure you ensure whichever vehicle you go for has the balance of the 10 year Lexus warranty on it, is not affected by the Canbus issue (or if so has had the steel plate and/or GPS tracker fitted). If it's older than 2018 it probably won't have built-in Apple Carplay or Android Auto (AA). So either pick a newer car, or you can retro-fit a new gizmo to add carplay/AA (I did this to my 2016 300h). So many options including 300 vs 350 vs 450. Hybrid vs plug in hybrid. I think the 350h may be the sweet-spot now (especially with better fuel economy), but you can buy a used 300h for less money. Looking at the Lexus used car stock, you can pick up a reasonable 2018-2020 NX300h for somewhere between £20k to £30k depending on age, trim level and mileage. The newer 350h starts at about £34k. Happy hunting!
  7. 18" wheels are now available as an option on all trim levels, I think this provides a smoother ride and better range, but it can adversely affect other factors including cornering / stability and stopping distance so it depends what your preference is (plus how good the suspension is in the vehicle). For example: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/features/are-bigger-wheels-really-ruining-ride-quality and https://www.jdpower.com/cars/shopping-guides/what-difference-does-the-wheel-size-make When on a test drive last week of an RZ 450e Premium Plus (4WD), we found the ride to be good, better than my 2016 NX 300h (18" wheels) 4WD and almost as smooth as our 2021 UX 300e (17" wheels) Front wheel drive. Handling most manhole covers, speed bumps and potholes well. My SO and I took it in turns to sit in the back to look after our baby and both had the same opinion of the ride quality.
  8. As long as you choose grey, dark grey or a copper colour presumably?!
  9. Thank you, this is very helpful .. I will ask about this when I test drive an RZ 450e soon. It's very strange that the Lexus design team hadn't thought to include integrated physical shades in their original design for the non-Takumi trims (even my 2016 NX has them!). Odd they don't give a delete sunroof option too (like in the old days!).
  10. I managed to find the answer to my question.. sections 2.2 and 2.3 of the T&Cs apply in my situation 😄
  11. I am very impressed with the new Lexus Reserve proposition. Avoiding range anxiety for longer trips by borrowing a Lexus hybrid. https://www.lexus.co.uk/lexus-reserve Before I contact my dealer, does anyone know if customers who purchased a Lexus fully electric vehicle from a Lexus dealer BEFORE Reserve was launched are also eligible to use Lexus Reserve? Thanks, Arne
  12. I am considering purchasing an RZ. Is anyone else underwhelmed by the limited choice of colours available? Why are there so many slight variations of the same colours (grey and silver)? Why are there no red, green, dark blue or other choices available? This is almost as bad as the options available on the Volvo EX30! Does anyone know if Lexus will be introducing a wider colour palette in the near future?
  13. thank you Colin. At least there is an underlying rationale after all. I hope it makes a nice sound when we drive along too?!!
  14. Sorry to see you have left the Lexus family Slucky. I share some of your concerns re: the Chademo vs CCS and smaller battery. At least the newer 300e has a larger capacity battery which helps. One things I have found on the public Chademo chargers .. some don't work.. but I saw a BMW driver press the red emergency stop button on the charger (no alarms went off and no emergency services arrived!) This reset the unit and then after it started up (a few minutes later) it worked fine!! Worth trying to any other UX300e owners out there! We only do short journeys in ours, so the 54kWh battery is fine for us and is granny-charged over a 3-pin plug overnight at home. We use my NX300h for longer / unplanned journeys.
  15. I have often wondered about the word "sonic" to describe a colour! Is there a sound absorbing quality of the paint, or is this someone in product design/marketing that needs a stern talking to?!
