I saw this earlier and I thought it kind of summarises much of my life and probably yours if you are of a certain age. They call us ”The Elderly” We were born in the 40-50-60’s. We grew up in the 50-60-70's. We studied in the 60-70-80's. We were dating in the 70-80-90's. We got married and discovered the world in the 70-80-90's. We venture into the 80-90’s. We stabilize in the 2000’s. We got wiser in the 2010’s. And we are going firmly through and beyond 2020. Turns out we've lived through EIGHT different decades... TWO different centuries... TWO different millennia... We have gone from the telephone with an operator for long-distance calls to video calls to anywhere in the world. We have gone from slides to YouTube, from vinyl records to online music, from handwritten letters to email and Whats App. From live matches on the radio, to black and white TV, colour TV and then to 3D HD TV. We went to the Video store and now we watch Netflix. We got to know the first computers, punch cards, floppy disks and now we have gigabytes and megabytes on our smartphones. We wore shorts throughout our childhood and then long trousers, Oxfords, flares, shell suits & blue jeans. We dodged infantile paralysis, meningitis, polio, tuberculosis, swine flu and now COVID-19. We rode skates, tricycles, bicycles, mopeds, petrol or diesel cars and now we drive hybrids or electric. Yes, we've been through a lot but what a great life we've had! They could describe us as “exennials”; people who were born in that world of the fifties, who had an analog childhood and a digital adulthood. We've kind of “Seen-It-All”! Our generation has literally lived through and witnessed more than any other in every dimension of life. It is our generation that has literally adapted to “CHANGE”. A big round of applause to all the members of a very special generation, which will be UNIQUE. -Author unknown Keep on keeping on!

We won't go into details ,but (wink) look at his eyes , the guy at the start !

I thought I had heard of all the approaches, but 'freezing' is a new one on me.

Yes, he had the advantage of actually seeing it live. Toilets that were beyond disgusting, a roof that rained on the inside....but of course above all else the music, the atmosphere, the belonging. It was a 'disco' like I am Dwayne Johnson !

Lexus quality and dealerships
Boomer54 replied to David lings's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Given that the average dealer as no idea what career you are in then I doubt the above holds true. What will always help is to understand any contract that you have and how to be polite, but firm in making sure the contract is upheld. -
Thanks Neil. Are the owners ever on here? Do we know what internal finish was paired with the blue?

And a bottle of Belgium beer.

Herbie, what I was writing about is typically more directed at age related issues. You are clearly outside that remit given your history. I am fairly confident you will have been through every mill on this over the course of your life. I wouldn't dare to think I had anything to offer on your situation other than my sympathy.
-
Then the pathway is right. Chin up my brother had all the above some years back and just let's say I have more problems now than him ! The joke in the club house loo is everybody leaves when he comes in 'cos it's firehose time. Best wishes.

Sorry, just as an addendum if you are being given a cytoscopy just for frequent urinary issues have you first had a simple flowtest? Can understand the cystoscopy if there are other concerns being investigated, but if it's prostate enlargement causing urine frequency issues I would have thought they would start with a simple flowtest.

The sensation is more one of pressure than pain in my view , but one's mans pressure is another mans agony to misquote the old adage. If you do have a urinary problem not dealt with quite satisfactorily by Tamulosin you might in the first iinstance ask your GP to prescribe something called Combodart ,or a clone of it , this is Tamulosin combined with Dutasteride . Personally, I found this was better than just Tamulosin. f you are in pain (razor blades), or finding it difficult to urinate then lie in a warm bath and you will find this helps a lot. The other thing you can do is not drink after tea time. Sounds obvious ,but basically the emptier your bladder the less likely you are to get up at night. My personal record on that (when in RA flare) is 15 times between 12 and 6pm. What Herbie was referring to may possibly (I use that exact word for a reason) be helped by specific excercises to retrain the muscles of the bladder to improve your ability to retain urine. I won't link that, it's easy to search out. Of course sometimes the enlargement reaches a critical point where only intervention is going to help. Of the alternatives available I know physical reduction can be problematic ,but comes with good probabilities of success. Personally, I favour Ablation simply because it is less invasive and recovery issues are less. There is apparently a great laser treatment developed in the US, but it is not available in my region. Might be in yours. Worth a check. Any questions ask by all means. Not only do I have the same problems as you guys ,but fortunately I have a wife although retired has seen (in a professional sense) an awful lots of willies with problems and she is a fount of knowledge.😃

Obviously general inflation is having an effect on premiums this year, but outside of that there is without doubt a separate story unfolding on EV insurance. No crystal ball as to the future, but if the trend were to continue i could see govt having to get involved again IF they are seriously trying to ensure the transition from fossil fuel continues. I think it is easy to overlook just what a major transition this is, and frankly I think it naive to expect that it will be smooth sailing.

Might be a trick of the photography, but just have a look if you have a bubble starting adjacent to the roof seal on passenger side and bonnet side. Might be just light reflection. After my mixup the other day came back to take another look at your build. Labour of lover. Wish I had your skills.

Ven I become supreme ruler you may have as much personal freedom as I Iike. -
Your results are comparable with mine albeit over a slightly shorter time period. The SOC is basically useless, but the voltage charge is enough for the purpose required.
-
Can you post up a pic showing them currently. Let's see if we can work out a solution that does not involve having to strip the inner door panelling etc. Are you confident the metal is Aluminium? I thought it was ,but I am not exactly an expert in these matters. This is one of mine and the otherside is virtually the same. I imagine this is more or less the start of the process, but would progress over time.
-
Apologies on the mixup. It was Nigel who detailed his seat restoration and it really stuck with me. The what he had done if not the who done it. Par for the course these days, heck I turned up a week early for my bloodtests yesterday so it's just a question of time until I have to start wearing a collar with my name on it and a return to sender address ! Anyway, something good came out of it as I looked over the video of Nigels car and noticed he had a similar issue on his window trim peeling so may be I will find out what can be done about that.
-
I see on that car the black outlayer on the window trim is exposing the metal below. I wonder have you investigated what would be involved in resolving that issue. Mine as a similar issue albeit very small which I would consider having done in due course depending on what it entailed.

You clearly had a good base to work from. I have never heard of a mileage so low on a SC 430 lucky old you. Spent a little time looking at Japanese imports and there are some very low mileage examples there ,but still nothing of your ilk. I remember the shot of the undercarriage you posted and that was also clean as you might imagine given the miles travelled. You also laid down the process for restoring the seats which is what I would like to get on with next spring. Essentially I am just going to copy the process you outlined. Initially I was just going to get the chequebook out and hit everything I wanted to do, but I have rethought that. Now I think it would be more satisfying to take more time and try to do as much as I can myself. Have you ever seen another SC 430 and thought that's so good I wish I had that rather than the one you have? I have not , but of course I have not seen any others that were not just in photos.

"Have I missed summat ! " According to Herald Wales you didn't miss the little old ladies cat😉 Obviously 9 lives is a myth !
