    From what I can ascertain, the New Gen NX has what's called the Toyota (ECU) Security Key (TSK) implemented. TSK apparently protects against the CAN BUS attacks which have been the subject of numerous thefts of Toyota and Lexus vehicles. In other words the would-be thieves Can Bus device can't communicate with the vehicle's ECU without the relevant TSK so they can't (currently) gain access to the vehicle.

    Just an interesting aside: Last week I was traveling along a (non major) road (40 MPH limit) using Android Auto (AA) and received a voice message telling me that there was a mobile speed camera ahead. Indeed, a coupe of hundred yards ahead there was a unmarked police van with a speed camera protruding out the back window. I never realised this was possible with AA, so there must be a way of a google maps (AA) user being able to report such a sighting, just like when you can report a sudden road closure etc. Wouldn't have thought Google would be able to do this. Useful though.

    I have just edited my response as Toyota specifically stated that it is only the PHEV that is currently not susceptible. Toyota won't make any definitive statement regarding which cars (manufacturing date) are in which category, but I do know that earlier (2020/2022) RAV4 PHEV's have had the plates fitted.

    All such requests go via Lexus servers so the proximity of the phone to the car should be immaterial. My remote climate has been working most times lately though sometimes the climate starts normally well before I get the confirmation. When I have had failures, sometimes clearing the app storage cache (NOT the data) and force stopping the app will sort it, but not always.

    Over on the RAV4 forum an owner of a 2024 PHEV vehicle emailed Toyota CS asking for the protection plates to be installed before he took delivery. Their response was that his vehicle does not need them because his PHEV has a different electrical architecture to the HEV and is not susceptible to the current spate of such attacks. As far as the NX 450h is concerned it should be the same situation, what we don't know, is from what manufacturing date this would apply.

    Yes Malcolm, both setups have online access to live traffic information.

    The 14 inch Satnav uses embedded mapping whereas the 9.8 inch version uses cloud based mapping provided by TomTom and so doesn't need updating. Downside of the cloud based system is if you don't have a mobile (or WiFi ) signal into the vehicle at the time you're unable to locate an address. I use Android Auto always which also lets you create a route and download it to your phone if required.

    In my experience those missing trips will appear some time later. Not great but better late than never.

    When I had my handles replaced last week, the service person showed me a list of mods to the new handles, and whilst I didn't make a note of them there was certainly several design changes.

    I have the same wall box. Do you know what warranty there is on it. I can't find the original documentation.

    Lo and behold my disemboweled Dalek decided to return last night. Have no idea where it's been. Maybe back to Skaro for some R&R.

    Paul.....AVAS should operate driving forward up to 15 MPH, which is what I was referring to. It's apparently a legal requirement.

    Ken thanks, I opened that small panel but cannot see/locate any mechanism. The panel is quite some way below the fuel flap.

    Anyone know if there is a manual release mechanism for the fuel flap on the NX? Mine has decided not to open even though when I press the button a message appears saying "Ready to Refuel" on the drivers display.

    From the owners manual regarding AVAS: "When driving with the gasoline engine stopped, a sound, which changes in accordance with the driving speed, will be played in order to warn people nearby of the vehicle’s approach. The sound will stop when the vehicle speed exceeds approximately 25 km/h (15 mph)." I always noticed this noise at low speed in EV mode, that is until yesterday when it disappeared. Anyone else experienced this?

    Four new handles fitted to my 450h today. Took about 3.5 hours including the valet.

    I took delivery of my car in the middle of June 2023 and it went into the dealer for key cloning 1st August. The app says the car needs to be serviced 1st August this year instead of the 15th June 🙁

    The warmer weather gives me an increased EV with A/C prediction. I'll let you know what actual I achieve. The app has been incredibly buggy this evening.....bless it!

    Yes Ken I have had that happen (not really sure why) but I disconnected the cable from the car, disconnected it from the wall box then reconnected (wall box first) and it resolved my issue. Don't know if your problem is the same.

    As per my previous post I am booked in early next month for new handles. I rang the dealer after all my handles were frozen one morning (a couple of weeks ago) and after picking up the info from this thread. Speaking to the dealership they said they had only discovered the TSB that week afer another owner called to complain. They didn't ask for any further info and booked my car in. Regarding using the manual key and release, I found it very difficult to remove the plastic cover to expose the lock, in fact I was concerned that I would break the cover so I failed to use the method.

    Yes.....yesterday I was seeing around 3.3 m/kwh as opposed to 2.7 during cold weather
