Michael....how often are you having to charge the battery? -
12V battery problem
Hayzee replied to David Williamson's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Ronnie.....I just checked mine using a Voltmeter across the battery terminals and it's at 12.2v which means about 60% charged. My NX is used every day spending at least 30-40 mins in ready mode so I expected the battery to be in a better charge state than that. I understand (correct me if anyone knows otherwise) that the vehicle will charge the 12v battery to a maximum of 80%. The car will be idle soon for at least 7 days so I've decided to charge the 12v battery using my CTEK charger beforehand. -
12V battery problem

No it doesn't Ronnie. Some on the RAV4 forum have bought cheap ammeters that plug into the 12v socket in the dash but this will only show the state of the 12v battery when in Accessory or ready mode. But at least that may give forewarning of a depleting battery. -
12V battery problem

The 12v battery is charged by the traction battery when the car is in ready mode. There is no alternator on the car so you can run in EV mode all the time and still charge the 12v battery. The main issue is that you need to be in ready mode regularly so e.g. not using the car for several weeks can lead to a flattish 12v battery. -
Tyre Pressure Advice

Ronnie my NX came with Bridgestone Alenza fitted and I have been very happy with them. My previous RAV4 PHEV came with the same Blue Earth tyres as your NX and definitely I favour the Bridgestones. I have heard good things about Michelin Cross Climates. -

Insurance Renewal June
Hayzee replied to RONNIE W HODGEKINSON's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Since I went past 70 my premiums have increased significantly. Last year my NX 450h LV policy cost £530, and I know that will double this year with LV (due mid June). I've been on all comparison sites and best price is with Sterling (broker using ABC insurance underwriters who are part of LV) £887. I have max no claims no accidents and haven't moved address. I'm just another year older. I have an Aviva house insurance policy and requested a car quote from them online, but they said they weren't able to quote me. I just have to suck up the insurance increases (and £590 a year road tax) or downsize the car to something like a Yaris lol. -

Profile not syncing has been the bane of my life and continues to be so. If anyone knows how to fix this permanently please let me know. Regarding problems with the uppercase key have you checked the temporary screen protector has been removed? -
Rewire Security Tracker DB2
Hayzee replied to RONNIE W HODGEKINSON's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Not the DB2, you would need to install one of the more expensive Insurance approved trackers which are listed on their site. -

Stats on NX 450h+ Predicted EV Range
Hayzee replied to Harrier Man's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I believe that the reason the PHEV has a large 30% reserve for the traction battery is because the PHEV has a total power output of 302 BHP created from the engine and an electric motor on each axle. When you floor the accelerator etc this demands full or nearly full power output, which means the traction battery will be able to provide the necessary power to the motors even if you have zero EV miles available. If you drive the car very hard with just the 30% reserve it is possible to see the reserve drop below 30% if the engine hasn't been able to maintain it because of driver demand. However, the car is clever enough not to let the driver deplete this reserve by too much by limiting BHP regardless of how heavy footed you are. -
AGM or Flooded Cell 12v Battery
Hayzee replied to stepppy's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
I believe all NX Phase 2 variants use Lead Acid auxiliary batteries as original equipment. -
No it has to be cloned at the dealers

Here's a pic of the plate fitted to a RAV4 (from the RAV4 forum). The plate covers the canbus plug by the nearside front headlight so it can't be unlatched and pulled out stopping the thief's canbus attack electronics being plugged in. Thieves would pull out the wheel arch trims and front bumper to access the latch.

Stats on NX 450h+ Predicted EV Range
Hayzee replied to Harrier Man's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Mine is showing 54 with a/c but obviously not achieving that. I rarely use up the EV range each day which might explain my high estimate. -
App version please

You're no doubt right, but a 100%+ increase in premium is crazy.
-
Ed.....did you get some other quotes?
-
James ...I'm not in a high risk post code, but my last year's premium with LV was £530 for my 450h which is in a higher insurance group than the 300h mainly due to it being a PHEV and 300HP, plus my premium would be higher due to me being a lot older than you (if Jim1977 means you're midish 40's). My renewal isn't till June but I ran it through the comparison sites and are currently seeing quotes around the £900 mark. I have max no claims (nothing claimed for 20 years or so) and a clean licence. In my case I'm pretty sure hitting a certain age band has been a significant catalyst (very unfair to my mind), a 70% premium increase year to year seems incredulous.

Software update

I'm still getting that bloody annoying message at frequent intervals. Anyone know how to be rid of it for good? -
You'll find that numbering convention for the VIN position 10 doesn't apply to Toyota/Lexus vehicles in the UK. It may be used by other brands but Toyota/Lexus stopped using it some time ago. My VIN has a 0 in that 10th position which the above convention doesn't recognise. Test it against your VIN.

In the UK, the VIN no longer identifies manufacturing date, but even if it did, it doesn't reveal the Model Year. MY 2024 NX was said to be manufactured from Spring 2023 according to Lexus Europe, though actual dates varied by market. https://newsroom.lexus.eu/lexus-nx-elevated-by-new-on-board-luxury-features-and-latest-technology/?fbclid=IwAR2PikwQRsd3byUdDM6l6Bha-L_Lb6tf1jxOkc6dXfyVTSt9qNs6FqAwyhc&utm_source=LexusOwnersClubUK&utm_medium=ForumLinks

I assume this update is only for the 14" display with embedded navigation?
