  1. It's just that Lexus introduced UWB fobs and auto sleep fobs so that we don't need to deploy other means. But I understand your choice.
  2. Paul......I note your forum nick name but old age has seen my insurance double in the last year to more than twice your quote. And I've been through the comparison sites, and I have max no claims and a no licence points.
  3. With respect we could say that about safety critical electronics too
  4. I tested mine and they slept between 3 and 4 minutes, hence I don't feel the need to have the keys in a pouch.
  5. Hi Paul, welcome 🤗 This is the section for all NX models and specs.
  6. I agree that if a thief wants a car they'll go to extremes to get it. Locally thieves smashed down the front door of a house and demanded the keys to 2 vehicles, from the terrified owners, which they duely took. However I'm not sure I would want my car back after it was stolen as they often trash the vehicle after/during using it, unless it went to a chop shop if they were able remove the tracker.
  7. Depends if you have no alternative
  8. I think that may come down to the cost of a replacement unit for a UX250 v NX 450h
  9. What I'm struggling to understand is that the Gen2 NX uses UWB with its key fob (no key cloning) and TSK software rendering canbus attacks ineffective. So why such a push to install these trackers on Gen2 vehicles? Is there a significant insurance premium discount associated with their fitment? If not I don't see the benefit.
  10. Can someone explain to me what the OBD part of this tracker is?. Surely any thief worth their salt will unplug anything connected to the OBD port rendering it ineffective?
  11. It will if you set screen demist/defrost on
  12. Ronnie... I'm sure I've asked you before but which model do you have?....still no 12v battery issues?
  13. Pre-conditionng will use the Traction battery unless you also specify screen defrost/clear when it will start the ICE by default. If you start the car manually then it will expect the key to remain inside the car so better to use the app.
  14. I used one of these and never had a problem https://www.industrialextensionleads.co.uk/5m-rcd-protected-single-socket-13amp-heavy-duty-extension-lead-10285-p.asp
  15. Definitely Dave.... they're just being lazy it seems
  16. Every Lexus and Toyota I've bought new, the dealership provided the registration before collection.
  17. Marita....as per Ken's comments above you should charge it when required. If you use all the EV miles each day then yes charge daily, but there's no technical need to do so. I'm currently achieving about 47 miles on a full traction battery but it has been above 50 during warmer weather. As mentioned there will be a big dip in EV range during colder weather.
  18. Ken.......that is certainly the case with the plug in 450h but not the Gen 1 NX350h
  19. IIRC the port you want is in the storage space under the armrest and is highlighted
  20. I don't think there is anyway of us confirming the OTA update has occurred, just blind faith. Regarding the PDA feature, I believe that appeared on my 2023 NX when it went in for a recall for the Forward Recognition Camera last month. I only realised when I saw the option appear on the Driver Assist options screen. It was turned off by default but remains on once activated.
  21. Don't forget that in both GO tariffs the KWH rate outside the cheap hours is increased over the SVT rate by a %. So worth moving other (washing machine , dishwasher) kWh to the cheap hours if you can manage it. Otherwise it might be cheaper on the SVT unless you use up all EV miles most days. Hope that makes sense.
  22. You're correct....the 10 inch system uses live maps from TomTom servers and hence has no need for manual updates
  23. You're right the Gen2 NX is not susceptible to the canbus attack so I'm very surprised they're fitting a tracker
  24. I have experienced just the same as you, particularly on long runs.
  25. Al (above) is completely right. The NX HEV has a hybrid (traction) battery of just 1.6 kWh whereas the PHEV battery is 18.1 kWh of which about 5.4 kWh (30%) is reserved for HEV mode. So it has 3.8 kWh more hybrid battery than the HEV for non EV driving.. This allows the PHEV to maintain all it's 302 HP regardless of having zero EV miles available, so performance is never compromised. MPG would also not be affected, except by your driving habits.
