  1. You think it’s best to ignore this issue and hope that it goes away? Even tho I have driven the car for 9 hours today. 4 a bit hours each way. I haven’t paid much attention to the smell recently but it seems to gotten a lot better.
  2. I’ve driven Manchester and back from London. And have probably driven a few hundred miles before too. The smell is there but a lot less. Only when I open the door I get a the smell.
  3. Some context for weeks across the road someone had been installing External wall insulation and boards have scattered across the road I park on. One day I took the car for a drive after a while and saw smoke coming from the passenger door and later released that something got stuck and burned on the exhaust see the attached image. I took it a local mechanic and he advised me to keep on driving and it’ll burn off. Well it did sort of as you can see in the second image but the smell still persists. So I took it to another garage and he removed or painted over it I’m not quite sure and said he added a new cabinet filter to get rid of the smell. I thought it was the end of that but today I took it for a drive again and the smell still comes especially when you open either the drivers or passenger side door. No smell comes from the engine bay and the engine temperature reads what it should be reading. What should I do next?
  4. Just the place I was looking for someone with experience as a Lexus Mechanic. Thanks at least now I have a place to go if need be.
  5. In that case I’d stick with the dealer to have the reassurance with the warranty they provide.
  6. Yes you are right it is an easy car to work with tbf. Me and my friend changed all the discs and pads on my IS200t and it was straight forward although there was a lot of lock tight applied to one of the bolts other than that is was okay even with limited tools. I will be servicing the car at Lexus every year to have the piece of mind with the warranty they give every year.
  7. Can anyone recommend a Lexus/Toyota garage other than a dealer for general service and small repairs. Would like someone that is knowledgeable on Lexus and Toyota, thanks.
  8. I have a Lexus IS200t Premier which I assume has TPMS which it does because there is a tyre pressure warning light that has come on and I’ve seen the sensor in person but wanted to ask why I can’t view pressure readings on my dash? Is this an American thing only or a never thing? Surely there is something wrong? When I go to the central screen in my dash on the ‘i’ section and go through the options it shows where the tire pressure reading would be completely blank with no figure of the car either. Just would like to know why I can’t check my readings although it clearly has the TPMS and it is a Premier model so I’d expect it to have the ability to give readings. Hope someone can answer my query, thanks in advance.
  9. I did check the valet mode and it was off I tried it on and off and the button still doesn’t work. No idea why the button would stop working. It works on the key fob.
  10. Not sure if this is a real IS350 in the UK or not but here’s one for sale. Maybe it’s just a moded IS250 with a 350 badge on it. But I was under the assumption none were ever sold in the UK. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1196491787724210/
  11. Again I agree with you had I had a choice between an IS350 and IS200t I would go for the 350; however, there was only one options personally I don’t CVTs and hybrids so IS200t was the only choice for me unless I look at other car manufacturers which means compromising on reliability and build quality.
  12. Shouldn’t have been too harsh on the 300h it is a brilliant car. There is no other hybrid I would consider and in terms of Golf R and S3 I’d prefer a saloon like I have now I’m not that obsessed with power I’d rather have increased reliability and a better sound system which both of does can’t compare to Lexus’ ML sound system and not to mention the ride quality, build quality and reliability. And yes lets not forget the ventilating seats which is a rare sight in a lot of cars even the German ones.
  13. In a lot of city driving and some motorway between 23-27 mpg is a optimistic view. Heavy city driving will for sure bring it below 20-18 mpg.
