It has the luxury package with ML, HU display and other goodies. Well looked after, only serves at Lexus but not sold by them. I gave Lexus a call and the guarantee does not apply to cars not sold by them he told me, even if the car has been exclusively served at Lexus. The seller of this object insisted though that it does. Price is 22.200£ un-negotiated. Seems expensive for a 8 year old car but the market is crazy right now. We are set on the NX after trying it, and will drive the car for 3 years before switching (we always do that) or at least have the option to buy it or trade it in for something else so second hand value at 2025-2026 is of some importance at least. Tough choices. Thanks for the feedback - i live in Sweden. Prices are absolutely soaring right now on RX450, like my topic said. I think almost 20k is way too much for a 11-13 year old car, where some don't even have ML. It is very hard to find a RX450h with good ownership history. Just because i looked away from GS450h, a 2012, in perfect condition showed up. It had EVERYTHING except a sun roof. Fully served at Lexus, one owner, and just 60.000 miles on the clock..it got sold in 3 days (since it is only like 200-300 GSH450 in the entire country). The other issue is IS-models. We dont get IS or GS350 here, and i dont think GS250 is value for money, neither is IS300 since 98% of the IS on market here in Sweden don't have ML or leatherseats. Just executive. Amazingly it seems to be a enormous task to purchase a Lexus in Sweden - might have to look for a Volvo. Like i said, you can get a 4 year old V90 or V60, with leather seats, sun roof, big audio and all the safety goodies. I just feel like the reliability is far away from Lexus, and that maintenance is more expensive and breakdowns are more probable.

Hi boys! You might remember me from the GS-forum, where i was on the fence of buying a GS450h. That did not happen, so i started to look at other models. Found the RX450h, had 3 of them at dealers 5 minutes away from me, so i went and tried two of them out - a golden 2010 luxury and f-sport with 62.000 miles and one owner, and a 2013 luxury with 3 previous owners with 83500 miles on the clock. I decided that i liked the latter better, since it felt more comfortable on rough roads and was a bit more up to date. The price was a staggering 19800£ with Zero room for negotiating. The car was serviced perfect up until 2020-03 when the 3rd owner decided to skip it until he traded it in. So the car had not been serviced between 2020-03 - 2023-01 and 25700 miles. The dealer said the car had been through rigorous testing and had been serviced (the big one, new spark plugs etc), so i decided to buy it. Had it for 4 days before i returned to the dealer to return the car. On day 3, it became choppy. While accelerating, the car kind of held back a bit, then a kick came, then it held back, etc. I also noted that the last 4 times i started it, the car made a strange noise, kind of like a muffled bang, and it took 3-4 seconds for it to start. No problems to return it, but here i am. I thought 19800£ was steep for a 83k miles car that is 11 years old, but i just fell in love with it and want another one. The prices are absolutely insane though. If you want a 2016 with 65.000 miles on the clock, you have to pony up 27500£ without a sweat. These are cars that are sold by non-Lexus dealers - if you want a certified car from then, you have to add 3000-4000£. My previous experience did not dent my entusiasm though, but these prices do. I can pay it, but how sensible is it, from a financial standpoint? I can get a V60 or V90, with leather seats, the big audio system, sun roof and all safety features with 60.000 miles tops on the clock for 18.500 - 19.000£. these cars have been leased by companies and are fully serviced. What do you think?

Good to know! I want to thank everyone who replied in this thread. Your contributions have been invaluable. I have decided to pass on the GS450. I made a pro/cons list: Pros: Comfort, luxury and style. Hybrid. Horsepower. It's a Lexus (duuh). Reliability. Looks. MPG/performance. Cons: The 6-month service-interval, with no estimated prices from the Lexus-dealer. I am not a mechanic. If something brakes on a Lexus, it tends to be extremely expensive, even more so in Sweden with the car being very unusual so parts are not easy or acceptable when it comes to pricing. Got an estimate from a dealer for a new hybrid-battery: 4650£!!!! Thats a THIRD of the purchase price. Never ever would i spend that much. It's almost 11 years old. I usually change cars every 3 or 4 years, which makes buying the GS450h, a bad deal. Dealer refused to give a rough estimate of the expected value on the car in 3 years/150.000 miles if i wanted to trade it in for another Lexus. The price. 15400£ was to steep and i offered 14800£ without success. Resale value. It is EXTREMELY hard to estimate the value of Lexus in Sweden, since there are not many of them. Hence, you do not know if you pay to much or receive to little. I have never owned an older car with that many miles on the meter, and i do not know where the threshold is when it significantly drops in value. I guess Lexus is not for me. I prefer warranties and newer cars, of the expense of the luxury and reliability. It is easier to trade them in when they are 5-6 years old, instead of 14-15. I will not spend 30-40k on a 2-3 year old Lexus either, i think the prices are a bit on the high side. Will be looking for a Volvo V90, XC60, Passat, Skoda or Honda and join the masses. Hopefully this post can help someone else when it comes to purchasing a GS. I know other posts helped me!

John, it was hard to find price when new, but i think i managed. Price in Sweden when released 2013: Lexus GS450h price was set at 53450£ WITH F-sport. Comfort, not quite sure, but it says 40.000£, so i guess i have to trust it. So after 5 years, the value should be 20k. Add another 5 years (soon 11 years old), and i guess thats where i need to find the depreciation. So, lets say the car was worth 20k in 2017. It has 80.000 miles and is fully serviced by Lexus with 1 owner to whom i spoke, and he was very happy with it, zero issues. That has to play in on the price, but how much though? My estimate would be around 14.000£. 15400£ now feels a bit steep. Maybe 14.500£ if the car is serviced on delivery. What do you think? On a final note, the market for Lexus in Sweden is very limited. It is not a car that many people drive, hence, it is pretty hard to sell. Most people drive SUVs or estates. I have a habit of changing cars after 3-4 years, a habit i am looking to brake and keep a car for much longer. On the downside, i am not handy at all with cars. Even the simpler repairs or issues will be a challenge for me to adress on my own. There are a couple of GS300 and a NX300 for sale with extended service and warranty. I might have to make some sacrifices on my wish-list (horsepower, comfort) so that my wife won't kill me for buying an 11 year old car and then something happens when i have sold in the GS450 with my soul.

Understood. I just feel like it can become a money pit since the car is 12 years old in July. If i want to change car in lets say 3 years and the car is at 130k miles, how much has the GS450 lost in value? Im going in with 8k of my own money. Any opinions on the NX300? The wife loves suvs.

Thanks for all the useful answers. You we're right. The screen was 8". I am kinda disappointed that the seller said 12"3. I went by a Toyota-dealer by accident today and went in to look. He had a 2018 Prius with 65k miles on the clock. Looked decent, felt good inside. Asking price? 16300!£ fully serviced at Toyota with the option to extend hybrid battery during 10 years. Another was a Corolla 2019 with 46k, with sunroof and leather seats. 16950£. Was impressed with the inside but the performance of both cars was extremely lacking.. I have never owned a hybrid before so thats why i am so flimsy. 11, soon to be 12 year old GS450 without warranties or any of these two with warranties, hybrid warranty. Extremely boring drive vs refinement, comfort and power. Basically heart or head.. i am dying here.

Oh. That didn't clarify anything. I still have no idea what size main screen is. Car.info have no answer, so am guessing it is the 8".
