I got into the driver's side OK on our first icy morning but the passenger side had to be opened from the inside. I've a feeling I may be calling Lexus sometime soon.
Interestingly I did start the climate using the app. It was left running for over 10 minutes but when I went to the car every window was badly steamed up. Only by starting the car and turning on the demist function did the windows clear. I'd love to know if the windows would have cleared up if I'd left the car to do its thing a bit longer.
This happened to me over the weekend. Engine kicked in after turning on the screen demist and only decided to revert to electric mode when I went into reverse gear. If I hadn't have had to go into reverse I'm not sure if the car would have automatically moved back to electric mode.
I rest my hand on the top of the screen and use my thumb for the more fiddly touch requirements. The phone contacts are a real problem in that I'd like to see a large icon to touch rather than having to touch the phone number text.
I gave up with my AA wireless and NX450+ after numerous resets, advice from the manufacturer and looking for solutions on various forums. No pattern in its connection issues - sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
Surely for most people with a NX450 the advantage of an overnight charging tariff for a car that takes just under 3 hours to charge just isn't worth it unless you can time other appliances to kick in during the low cost period (or you use hardly any electricity during the day).
I bought the base 450h and am more than happy with the smaller wheels and the 10 inch screen.
I too considered the RAV4 but couldn't get over the fact that they look absolutely dreadful.
The wife and I both have plugin hybrids which both take approx 2.5 hours to charge.
If I took on E-ON's electric car option I'd have a cheaper rate from midnight to 7am but the cost per KwH of electric for the rest of the day is more than what I pay now. If I was prepared to get up at 3am every morning to swap the charging cable between the cars I worked out I'd be very slightly better off but I'm not prepared to do that.
If we had a fully electric car that took approx 8 hours to charge it'd be worth swapping.
I'm close to giving up on the boot auto close and lock feature. I'd guess it works in approx 1 out of 3 attempts. The latest fail was the boot closed but the doors failed to lock. The doors wouldn't then lock when using the key fob which resulted in me having to reopen the boot, close it and then manually lock the car.
It was raining pretty heavily which makes me wonder if the sensors are way too sensitive.
Either way - it's crap!
I used to use a wheel lock in the 90s but went cold on the idea after a friend's car was stolen once the thieves had cut through the lock. The car was found the next day with a badly damaged wheel and dash - all caused by the thieves having to remove the lock. If a thief wants your car they'll come looking for the keys - and that includes the key to your wheel lock.
I experienced exactly the same with an AA dongle with a S21. I got it to connect and all looked fine until attempts to reconnect. I messed about with numerous settings in the app (the amount of configurable settings in the app did make me wonder if this product is more complicated than it needs to be) and managed a short spell of continued reliability but the connection issues returned. It's now back in its box in a drawer.
I've never owned a car with perforated leather before so have noticed that numerous little bits and bobs get stuck in the holes. Some flick out with a gentle rub, some vacuum out but some are more stubborn and I have to resort to using a needle to prick the object out.
Any hints and tips?
