  1. I'm currently suffering from intermittent charging issues with my Podpoint - again. Podpoint have replaced the PCB. The National Grid have performed a supply check and monitored my supply - all is OK. I've taken my car to my local Lexus dealer to have the cable and car checked - all is OK. Charging will work fine for days or even weeks and then, all of a sudden, the cable doesn't lock in the car so no charge. This may last for a day or two until it magically works again. Lexus told me that other Podpoint users have experienced the same and National Grid have told me that chargers can suffer if there are supply issues or other appliances are in use. I can't spot any pattern.
  2. The RZ300E is an absolute shambles from a number of models perspective. Why do car manufacturers insist on so many variations?
  3. This makes me wonder if some insurance companies are using incorrect data about the NX450h. Is this why my insurance quotes have nearly doubled?
  4. I've started to experience something similar with my Podpoint charger. One of the possible causes for this is a drop in the supply voltage where, for whatever reason, the supply drops below the level required for the charger to work. Podpoint swapped the charger just in case it was the issue but their remote monitoring did record supply issues. The National Grid have fitted a recording device on my supply to see if it's dipping on a regular basis. Apparently it's quite a common problem. What's interesting about this is that if the monitoring reveals ongoing supply dips then the reason for this isn't always easy to find. I may just have to live with it. If I had a fully electric car I'd be in a position where I may not be able to reliably charge my car at home because of an issue that no one, Podpoint or the National Grid, made me aware of when I had the survey and the charger fitted.
  5. It is - which is why I believe we'd all like to know what the outcome is.
  6. Is there any update on this? I would have thought that a decision on how to proceed would be made within a day or two.
  7. Interesting - I'll ask Podpoint to see if this is a known issue. Many thanks.
  8. Some weeks back I started to see my NX450h+ report 'Charging Interrupted' via the app. Nothing I could do would get me charging again until Podpoint reset my charger. This has happened on 4 or 5 occasions so Podpoint have replaced the charger. So, on the first charge since the replacement my NX450h+ was happily charging away and then - 'Charging Interrupted'. Podpoint have informed me that the car initiated the disconnection. What's interesting about this issue is that I've a feeling it's linked to trying to charge the car after a long journey where I've obviously been in Hybrid mode and the battery level is low. I'll pop into my local Lexus garage tomorrow to see if there is an issue with my car or cable but have any of you experienced anything similar. After initially blaming my Podpoint I'm now beginning to think that it's the car.
  9. I've had my NX450+ since March 2023 and as far as I can see haven't had any notification of any updates.
  10. Can anyone confirm if having a Tracker fitted does affect the insurance cost these days because when I enquired about this a few years ago the answer was 'No'. I used to fill in my online insurance quote stating that I didn't have a Tracker and then, on getting the quote, amended to say that I did have a Tracker. Guess what the difference in quote was?
  11. Yet I can get insurance cover for the X3 30e for around £280 less than the 450h.
  12. One insurer told me that the main issue was the rising costs of spare parts which I'd have believed if the insurance costs for similarly priced cars i.e.: BMW, Audi and Mercedes, was the same for my NX450h - they weren't. Also, many of the BMW, Audi and Mercedes models I'd looked into were more powerful performancewise which I'd have expected to have impacted the insurance cost. So, unless the costs of parts for Lexus models has rocketed for some reason I feel I'm being ripped off.
  13. It isn't just London. The renewal for my NX450h was an extra £300 from last year (£500 to £800) and I live in a small market town in the north with no car crime AFAIK. As a comparison, and this has been checked, I can insure a Jaguar F-Type, Audi S3 or BMW 340i for £400 less. It's crazy and what I'm saving in fuel costs is being blown away by the insurance (and servicing) costs.
  14. My NX450 has been into the garage on four occasions since I bought it in March 2023 and every time I've asked the dealer to update the car if any are available. I've been told every time that they'll come over when required but, as far as I know, I've not seen a single update since purchase.
