  1. Apparently the 350 has 72 litre tank. I ran mine until trip computer said zero miles left and then filled up - could only get 66 litres into the tank.
  2. Definitely does if you are playing MP3 files from CD - just press TEXT button to cycle through the info. Normal CDs I don't think give track name.
  3. Mine is fine today but was out most of Thursday. I am in Berkshire.
  4. Well I plumped for Dunlops in the end. Tread pattern seems similar to bridgestone but they seem to be a quieter tyre. Bridgestones had just under 18K on them - fronts had 2 mm left and the backs about 4. Was just going to just do fronts but sods law I will be on A1 at Xmas and due to global warming I would have been caught in record breaking snow storm with bald tyres so decided to get all 4 done.
  5. I have Talex Lite and am very pleased with it - £90
  6. Regarding squeaky leather try the following which worked for me : 1) buckle up rear seat belts - mine were rubbing on seats and making noise 2) drop armrest - this where my squeaking came from and lowering the armrest stopped it. As for the fuel gauge - yep they are very pessimistic. By my calculations they red light comes on with at least 6-8 litres left in the tank. Good luck!
  7. Tyres need changing on RX - has anyone here changed from standard Bridgestone Potenza to Dunlops or others and can offer a recommendation? Thanks!
  8. You ARE ABSOLUTELY entitled to ALL evidence regardless of whether or not you decide to take it to court. You have to remember that the Speeding Fines system relies on self incrimination - you are guilty until proven innocent. Demand the evidence and if it was you and you are guilty so be it. If not go to court, waste their time and have it overturned.
  9. You are entitled to copies of the evidence such as photos etc, details of where the van was sited, who was operating it, their certification and, details of the equipment used and when it was last calibrated. You may as well get value for money for your £60!
  10. Before you get too excited this is not a story of how your RX will now do 40 mpg but please bear with me.... Like many people I assume one of the reasons we drive a Lexus is the ease of ownership? : get in, start car, drive, come home, go to pub etc. If you are like me this attitude also applies to car maintenance which for most people with Lexus extends to topping up the washer bottle. Well, for the first time since I got the car I thought I might check tyre pressures as local garage has new Carlos Fandango machine that lets you set pressure digitally and then auto inflates to this amount. RX should be 32 all round but mine was about 28-29 all round. 20p later all tyres at 32. Well I'll be damned if I am not getting an extra 1-2 mpg straight away!!! :D I know it sounds obvious but c'mon how many of us check tyres every week??!! The moral of this story is - if you want to save some money on fuel don't be a lazy so-and-so like me and check your tyres!
  11. Not sure how to fix collar but on my RX I simply buckled up all rear seat belts and the cacophony of bangs, thumps and rattles stopped for me. Good luck
  12. I can confirm Giblet's comments - I am 5'8 and even I need to wary of banging my head when getting into the RX. Great car though.
  13. when not earning a living, or in the pub watching footy my hobbies are : Planetside Weight training Playing guitar Cold Water Goldfish (outside pond) buying and selling watches Saving up for the next Lexus
  14. RX tyres approaching 20K and I will probably change them for the winter. Instead of standard Bridgestone Potenza Lexus Guildford are also recommending Toyo and Hanook alternatives. Anyone had any experience of these. My main interest is how quiet they are? Thanks in advance.
  15. You may need to reset your sunroof too - the one touch may have stopped working after the battery went offline. It tells in in the manual how to do it.
  16. Always thought the RX split torque 50:50 front to back - I know the Toyota Highlander (in which Rx is based) does/did in 2001 and the post 2003 models are 50:50 I am quite happy to be proved wrong though :-)
  17. If you intend to get a warranty from an external company bear in mind that the Lexus extended warranty is an "as new" warranty - i.e. it covers all the stuff the original 3 year one does.
  18. before you complain about IS depreciation check this out on RX. My RX350 SEL registered last December at about 42K is now worth 25K trade in. Now that my friends is depreciation!!!!
  19. The sensible side of me says buy a new car exactly as you want it, drive for at least 5 years etc....... The other side will see new RX appear in 2009 and tell the sensible side of me to bugger off :P
  20. I had a similar problem with seemingly identical Nokia Phones. Only solution was to completely delete all phones from INFO/TELEPHONE and rediscover and re-pair. Nice icon BTW
  21. Had an RX350-SEL since last December (Santa was very good to me ) 2nd best car I have ever had (the best was LS430). Plus points Uber reliable - only prob I have had is piece of creaking trim on passenger door quick -spotty herberts in Saxo's get the shock of their lives at traffic lights full time 4wd drive as opposed to on demand 4wd in 400h - probably not important to most owners air suspension - handy if you are carrying lots of stuff or have short legs as you can drop the car to the floor all the toys - new Multi Media and Nav is awesome and even blue tooth has been fine. very comfy - long journeys are no problem doesn't seem to suffer the eco-menatalist backslash of things like Range Rover rx400h outsells 250 9:1 = good discounts (4K plus from new) Minus Points thirsty - 20 mpg around town and between 25-30 on motorway. Good for 2 tonne 4wd but still worth considering. if you do lots of short journeys go for the 400H front and rear parking sensors are extra you will need the discount to offset vertical depreciation. Mine has lost about 17K in 8 months!! Not an issue to me as I plan to keep it for 5 years. Overall - 350 is a brilliant car.
