  1. This will make you laugh - got an RX 350 6 weeks ago and now it's well run in. Bunch of chavs in a Saxo were mighty surprised to see this old farts 4*4 blow them into the dust from a standing start :D
  2. Just to stretch this topic a little further what are your most memorable video game moments then???? 1) Elite - managing to dock for the first time without using a docking computer 2) Half Life - (too many to mention :) ) but how about first time you encounter the marines or the creature that hunts by sound? 3) GTA Vice City - cruising the waterways in a stolen speedboat listening to David Lee Roth on the radio as the sun sets :D 4) Doom - seeing it run on a 17 inch monitor on a 486dx PC back in 92 - WOW!!!!! .....
  3. check this out for some very cool Streets of Rage remake action. Streets of rage remake for pc if anyone is hankering for games of yor check out retrogamer magazine - very nostalgic read :) A blast from the past
  4. Supa Busta Move on Gameboy advance - damn those coloured balloons!!!! :)
  5. Bloody hell I forgot about Elite!! I got it for the Commodore 64 and spent a whole school summer holiday playing it.
  6. Your not wrong there - mate of mine took a week off work just to play it!! :)
  7. Saw this : http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=38682 and this got me thinking.... What computer games have people played longest/most and why?? So let me start with : Planetside - the largest, most competitive and simply the best online FPS ever - played for 3.5 years and counting World of Warcraft - I'll get to lvl 60 if it kills me!! - 2 years and counting Civilisation 4 - just one more turn and then I'll go to bed.. - played since Civ 2 many years ago Unreal Tournament - loved setting up a server and shooting my mates from the pub Burnout 3 - that crash mode rules!
  8. so does this make it any more limited in snow / mud for example than standard rx or are are both the same?
  9. Picked up an RX 350 from Bracknell in November and having done 3000 miles since then it feels nice and loose and run in. Was wondering what kind of mpg other owners are getting? I get about 18-20 on short runs (worst was about 13 on a short dash after a fillup) with 23-25 on the motorway at outside lane speeds. Anyone better this?? Absolutely love the car so far - the only problem being a creak/rattle from dash when very cold. Turns out this is from the glovebox (air filter in there??) and can be solved by leaving glovebox open for a few minutes until the heaters warm up the car.
  10. 2007 models have the new Multi Media system I believe. Apologies if this has been asked before but just how much of a proper 4wd is the 400h?? I know the RX 350/300 isn't exactly a LR Disco but it does split power front to rear via a driveshaft. Does the 400h do this or is it effectively front wheel drive??
  11. Just noticed this on wikipedia about 2007 GS .................... [edit] Third generation (2006-present) Third generation Production: 2006–present Engine: 3.0 L V6 3GR-FSE 3.5 L V6 2GR-FSE 4.3 L V8 The third generation GS was first sold in 2005 as a 2006 model, with the chassis codename GRS190. The model lineup included the GS 300, with a 3.0 L V6 3GR-FSE engine, and the GS 430 with the same 4.3 L V8 used in the previous model. The GS 300 has a direct-injection engine for all markets except for Continental Asia. The 3.0 L engine is also found in the Toyota Mark X as well as the Zero Toyota Crown. A 4WD option was made available in the GS300 only. A GS 350, using the 3.5L 2GR-FSE engine, replaced the GS 300 for the 2007 model year. Due to a change in SAE testing procedures, the 2007 GS 430 horsepower rating was changed to 290 (with 319 ft-lbs. of torque) , while the V6-powered GS 350 was rated at 303 horsepwer (with 274 ft-lbs. of torque). Lexus reports 0-60 times of 5.7 seconds for both vehicles. A 4.6L GS 460 is expected to replace the 4.3L GS 430 by 2008. Production of the 3rd generation began on January 24, 2005. The equivalent Aristo was not released as Toyota sought to align all world markets, including Japan, using Lexus as their premium brand worldwide. The third generation GS was the first Lexus model to feature the marque's new L-Finesse design philosophy, characterized by swooping lines, a pulled-back cabin, and more muscular styling. The vehicle also premiered the latest generation of Lexus' SmartAccess keyless system--adding a push-button start for the first time. Other unique features included a driver-side hidden panel for infrequently used controls, a standard touchscreen display in the center console, LED lighting in the cabin, and Bluetooth technology.
  12. It IS on the indicator stalk - twist to turn the lights on and then in towards steering wheel is a collar that twists - twist up once for front fogs and then second time for rears. Twisting downwards switches both sets off.
  13. is this related?? http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=36952
  14. The give away is definitely the air suspension button on the dash. Not sure if the SE gets adaptive lighting but if not then the SEL has an AFS switch near the fuel filler cap release button.
  15. They go on sale in January I believe. lexus Bracknell let me have a look at one today - wow!! Loooks great in the flesh and the interior is lovely. Damn, I will have to start saving up again!! :D
  16. wierdo!!! :D sounds like some kind of map fetish to me mate :)

    welcome to the club mate
  18. Not sure about IS but my RX has a "record route" function which may help. Other option is to store lots of common places as memory points and string these together as a route. Quicker than inputting lots of addresses and also gives sensible names on screen - for example I have one set for the M1/M25 jct and also for A404/M40 as I use these as starting points for most places I travel to. You can also try defining areas to avoid - my satnav used to insist on taking me down teh M3 for every journey!! :-)
  19. Out of interest did you notice any unusual vibrations at all?? My new RX seems to send full details of the road surface through the wheel and pedals but not sure if this normal for the air suspension or if I should get a full geometry done??
  20. Bonjour me old marra! I'm from Heaton. I had a run down to Birmingham and found that at 70mph the engine was ticking over at 2000rpm and returning 37-38 mpg too. Bloody delighted with that. Yep, thats good enough for me too after an IS200 Sport which practically need to followed by a Shell tanker the 250 lets me get better VFM on the milage. Owa Heaton, ill bet its the posh bit near the Hospital. You just reminded me of a Charlie Browns (exhaust place) radio advert from the late eighties on Metro FM. "So marra what's wrong with me car??" "Your over heating" "No I'm not, I'm in Shiney Row!!" :D *** this joke will make no sense at all to anyone who doesn't know Newcastle quite well so aplogies :)
  21. Just wondering if most disappointment stems not from the actual mpg you get but how big a gap it is between real world and official figures? :) How would you feel if they said it did 35mpg when you bought it?? They said my LS, GS and now RX would drink like a fish. And they do so it's not that much of a shock :)
  22. tough to compare as they are completely different vehicles. However one thing I noticed is the RX is way better built than the GS I had.
