  1. They replaced all the wheel nuts on every single car with special wheel nuts with rubber O rings on them, so they are ok now. There are no locking wheel nuts available though.
  2. I knew that the qtr glass & chrome trim were one piece, I hoped the other part unclipped or something. I will ask the local bodyshop about dent removal.
  3. I found a couple of dents in the passenger side chrome trim. Is it possible to remove dents from those or how easy is it to remove & replace one? The part is £120
  4. My dash cam came with a magnetic ferrite core thing that you put on the cable to stop interference.
  5. well...in the factory they just yank on it or smack the striker with a hammer to adjust the gaps.
  6. I have a nextbase dash cam, it comes with a fuse cable that plugs into a suitable fuse slot in a fusebox. In my old car I found a guide on the internet for where the fuse box was & which fuse to piggyback, either a constant power or power with the ignition on. I cant find anything on the RCF, anyone got advice for where the fuses are etc?
  7. A lot of the reviews seem to just compare it to its BMW & Audi segment competitors as being inferior based on performance figures, but this guy looks deeper & sees the RCF as its own thing. I mainly appreciated the bits on the lifter, its not like you get to see that usually as an owner & ive not seen any other reviews bother to go into the chassis much at all.
  8. I saw this LC500 review a while ago & thought it was really good & in depth, interior, exterior, body & suspension, driving etc. Thought some owners or prospective owners might find it interesting.
  9. Depends how bad it is, the wording suggests it will need a new subframe. £200-250 for the part + labour.
  10. Over the last couple of months a lot of cars seem to be stuck at the docks cause apparently theres a shortage of transporter drivers, no one seems to know when anything will actually arrive & even when they do theres shortages on accessories & basic PDI parts....& pretty much all Japan made Toyota & Lexus are still showing up with only 1 key fob.
  11. put music on a usb stick & plug it in. the end.
  12. The engine bay in my rc is clean apart from what looks like an earth bracket & a relay box bracket & it's bolts. It's not clear why those have rusted & nothing else, is this normal for the rc? I might try to find new bits or figure out how to renew them.
  13. Its all well painting them but if they are rusted & the thing rounds off on you, youre stuck. Some of these garages use air guns on locking wheel nuts so you have to use huge force to get them off. They are only meant to have 140nm or something.
  14. All my locking wheel nuts were rusty & nasty. I replaced them but I had to wonder if alloy wheel theft us still a thing? Back I'm the 90s & 00s alloy wheels were expensive & most cars still came with hub caps. Alloys were so expensive in the 90s the Mk4 Supra came with 16" alloy wheels. Today its not unusual to see 18"/19" wheels on regular cars. All my rusty nuts came off ok but they can obviously be a problem if they wont come off. I considered just putting the regular wheel nuts back on but...didn't. anyone not bother with locking nuts anymore? Apparently if someone really wants your wheels a locking wheel nut won't stop them.
  15. I still cant get my head around why BMW deleted oil dipsticks from some of their engines, now you have to rely on the infotainment screen to tell you how much oil you have & to be telling you the truth & if your infotainment breaks at some point you cant even tell if you have oil without getting it repaired.. & i thought replacing the reliable handbrake with an electric switch was silly.
  16. they only work once the screen is booted up as they are part of the screen & even if you could adjust it to max heat the air will still be cold when first starting the car.
  17. The 450h F Sport has 21" wheels.. & pricey 235/50/21 tyres! Its got heated & cooled rear seats, the same touch screen radio as all the other recently refreshed lexus cars, I really dont like that they put the heater controls into the touch screen, if its blowing cold air in your face first thing in the morning because you had it set to that when you got home yesterday you have to wait until the radio boots up to turn it off. The tail gate shuts a lot easier than the old ones. Progress.
  18. I managed to own my last car for 4 years without kerbing the wheels or damaging them, so going pay to remove all the kerb rash & the flaked off paint on some of the spokes on the RCF Ive just bought knowing that I will be careful to avoid kerbing the wheels & i will clean the wheels properly. You have to pay £££ to repair diamond cut wheels.
  19. yeah, if you own one that was made after april 2017 or whenever it was, once its over 5 years old the rate drops, pre april 2017 & your tax will never go down.
  20. Can't you update the firmware on these units to new versions of android?
  21. They are Android 10. If the aliexpress ones are actually quality enough to replace OEM in a Lexus id get one but I'm not convinced.
